We are at a point right now that we may have to cancel our upcoming vacation to WDW :sad2: . We have a month to pay off our balance and we still haven't gotten our airfare. Airfare is going up and down like a darn roller coaster. On Wednesday it was $1260 for 4 tickets today it's $2060 :scared1: for the exact same flights. I just don't get it. It's to the point now that I really don't know how we are going to do it. This was supposed to be a fun surprise for our DS10 but it's been nothing but stress for DH and I. We've been fighting constantly about everything. He doesn't understand that there are more important things in life then (don't flame me for this) going to WDW. I would love more then anything to go again, but not at the risk of losing the shirts off our backs.. My DBIL is paying for the majority of the trip but it seems even he is losing interest or doesn't understand that things have to be paid by a certain date.

Ahhhh... isn't this recession wonderful????

We ran into the sa,e problem. we normally fly Jet Blue but the fares were out of this world. we went with Southwest out of Providence for about $1000 for 4 but we also booked them the second that they were available. We are going on pur April school vacation. I suggest you pull the trigger soon as the closer you get to the date the more they are going to be. Other is option is to drive:confused:
Good luck

I just played with Jetblue flights from JFK: It came to $1156 for 2 adults and 2 kids, April 23-29. (Admittedly bad flight times: mid afternoon going down and early morning coming back.) But add in the cost of an airport motel and the price of a tank of gas to drive down, and I bet it's do-able.

Have you tried a name your price with Priceline.com? That may be an option.

Also, for what it's worth:

You've been to WDW twice. Going again is NOT worth your marriage. Work the numbers, see whether or not it's something you can swing. If not, go up to Maine or something for this summer, and start saving for 2009. Life will go on if you don't hit WDW THIS year.

I Look At Air Fares All The Time. I Find Southwest To Be One Of The Cheapest Out Of Buffalo. Also Flying On Tues And Wednesdays Seems To Be The Least Expensive. Hang In There If Its Ment To Be It Will. What Did You Mean That There Is Things "more Important Than Disney" I Think Not...only Kidding

If part of your current plan is to rent a car while you're there, then check the price flying into Jacksonville airport. Its usually quite a bit cheaper than Orlando and just about a 2 hour drive.

I like to use http://www.kayak.com and http://www.mobissimo.com to check airfare at numerous airlines at the same time. (Typically they don't include the S.west airline; not sure about Airtran or Jet blue either.) But it'll give you a base to work with... that is, a price to beat! Also look at Farecompare.com and farecaster.com .

good luck.

I understand both sides here. What about shortening the length of your stay to make up for the more expensive flights? Southwest is reasonable but it also depends on when you are going. From LI, we got an $89 each way for the first week in March. They are running a sale now thru Feb 21. Good luck and don't sweat it. Everything always works out in the end. One way or another.

I am sorry for you dilema, I hope it all works out for you. I ended up getting $99 each way on SW for about a total of $950 for 2 adults, 2 children flying out from Seattle. Of course it was a weekday fare, so we leave on a Tuesday and return on a Tuesday. I know it is fustrating, but hopefully you will find something that works for you. Good luck!

you have a couple optitions.... push your trip back a few weeks or month.... shorten your stay length? Relax and dont stress if you cant do it... just wait Disney will still be there tommorow and next year... :) its not worth fighting over its supposed to be a fun and magicall time!!!! you dont want to be worried about it the whole time you are there

we had to cancel our 1st disney cruise for this march. I was so disappointed but when I finally cancelled it I felt like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders! (of course I book nonrefundable tix so we are going to WDW instead) Now with that said and done....we probably would have spent less on the CRUISE! It's almost a no win situation.....I felt relieved when we cancelled and may you feel the same. :confused3

keep trying -- I just found $692 for 4 people from Logan to MCO. I did it through the kayak link above

If you drive and stay somewhere in the middle, I figure it will cost about $900-1000. That is if your car gets 18 mi to the gallon.

to get airfair that we could afford out of MHT. We managed to get tickets from Wednesday to Wednesday (April 23rd-April 30th) for all four of us for under $900.00. But it took some real serious legwork. First we had tickets booked out of Albany NY since it's two weeks after their break, so they were easy to find them cheap. We lucked out and found some cheap out of MHT a month later and switched them (you can do that now with Southwest really easily).

Keep looking, and good luck!!
