We loved EPCOT!

Funny thing, on our last visit to WDW we had a Princess breakfast at 8:30am.

We were in Epcot for 13 hrs and did not even get to visit the World Showcase. (it wasn't open in mornings).

DH left for the resort and the 5 kids & I had a blast.

Thank you so much for your post! I was looking forward to Epcot. I saw one of the Travel Channel specials and Epcot looked like a lot of fun. I even made passports for the kids DS (4) and DD (2 1/2). Then, I started reading all of the reviews and was worried my kids wouldn't enjoy it. I can't wait to experience Epcot!

We love Epcot, too! Our next trip will be the first time our kids get to go to Epcot and I'm very excited!

Dont forget about "Off Kilter" in Canada !!! :cool1: :cool1: Please tell me their still there!

Yes they are still there but we didn't get to hear them. 3 very full days and we still didn't get to see everything. ;) It is a way cool park!

What's not to love? Grand Marnier Slushes in France, great food, great beer....we also love Epcot.

Our boys ae 6 and 5 and ever since they were 2 and 3 it has been our favorite park - we spend most of our time there.

Jenny:)

Add us to the list - dh, dd's 11 and 13 and I along with my sil/bil and nephew 7 would say its our favorite park. My princess neice however would definately pick MK :)

In fact, after looking over our itinerary for our next trip I moved from POFQ to the BWV for the last few nights because we have either a morning or evening planned at Epcot. Wish I could have gotten

A family we are friendly with is heading to WDW next week and didn't plan any Epcot time. After my dd told her friend about her favorite things she asked her mom aren't we going to Epcot. Mom says oh everyone told me it was boring, LOL. She is now considering a morning or an evening at Epcot toward the beginning of the trip "just in case". Her dd's are very similar to mine - very good friends - and I think they will truly enjoy Epcot more than they anticipate.

LOL even my kids love the Rose & Crown, Guinness for dh and I, shirley temples for the kids and card tricks / magic tricks or piano music for everyone :)

Glad you had such a great time in EPCOT. We love EPCOT aswell! Although I haven't always, I remember being very bored with it as a child but my girls love it! We had some of our best character meet and greets there this past August aswell. A definite must do on our trips:)

Our family of 4 (Myself, DH, DD12, DS9) spent 3 out of our 6 days @Epcot. I left each and every day so confused:confused3 remembering those post saying "that 1/2 day would be plenty for this park" or "that it was boring". This park had a little of everything for my family. Thrill rides, tame rides, hands on projects, multiple types of entertainment that covers a wide variety of interest.
I would just like to say to families- do not let the poor post reviews or the 10 year ago visit- a lot has changed!- keep you from giving this park a chance. It was GREAT!

I love Epcot too - it is my favorite park. DH too. Our last two trips we spent more time in the MK (our first trips with kids!) but we still spent plenty of time in Epcot. I love to stroll around the World Showcase, watching the performers and sampling beverages.

There was quite a bit there for the kids, too!

ITA - unlike MK you can still "stumble" upon a character while just walking around at Epcot. We were leaving Epcot via the IG one day, late afternoon and Bele and Sleeping beauty were just standing by the exit. My dd had so much fun just talking and playing with them - and they were truly in character it was great.

Even better was an evening in Epcot when I was walking around with my neice who was close to sleeping. My sil and dd's were riding MS and TT and I was just strolling the WS relaxing with my neice. We happend upon the bookstore/toystore at the UK and Alice was still there:) My neice was the only person around and Alice was so true to character and spent quite a while chatting up my then 5yo neice. She is 7 now still talks about meeting her friend Alice. Its one of my fondest WDW memories.

I think there is something special about metting Alice or Mary Poppins at the UK, Snow White in Germany, Mulan in China or Alladan and Jasmine in Morocco etc.

No doubt there is nothing like the MK but we LOVE Epcot too.

Epcot has always been our least favorite park. But we are going with a 2 and 4 year old next month and i'm going to make the very best of it.

Tell me what i'm missing:

Nemo ride
Turtle talk with crush
Living with the land ride
Spaceship earth
Imagination with figment
Honey i shrunk the audience
Test Track

What else is good?

We love EPCOT! Our favorite time at EPCOT this summer was during the Extra Hours one evening. They were open until midnight - and our children loved it! There were so few people that we were able to do so much; we basically did all the rides, except for the ones in the countries, an about two hours time. (Our family likes EPCOT, but all the walking during the hot afternoon can really take out the fun for children!)

Don't forget about all the characters that are in the Innovations area in the evening. It seemed like there were 10 or so characters just hanging out right before closing time. I'm not sure of the name of the venue, but I was surprised to see so many in the building!

Warning: Cover BOTH kids eyes when the snake comes out during Honey I shrunk. UGH!!!! I hate that part!:scared:

As for rides, you will probably enjoy the boat rides in Mexico and Norway as well.

Honestly though with Epcot its the little unexpected things that make it great esp at the world showcase. We like to start on one end mid afternoon and slowly make our way around. Our favorites are the live entertainment in almost every country, meething the CM's from the different countries and happening upon a character by chance.

So much of WDW is hurrying to; wake tink, get the best spot for the parade, ride xxx and so on. When we hit Epcot its like ahhhhh relax and have some fun without the over the top expectations. I hope I am explaning that right.

But to answer your question more, my dd's favorites are

The acrobats in China,
The candy maker in Japan,
MoRoccin in Morrocco,
Making a mask and adding to it in each country,
Voices of Liberty (very young kids may not love this one)
The comedy show in UK and the toy store
The dollmakers and the egg painter in Germany
The glass blowers in Mexico

Ending the evening with Illuminations :)

Epcot is my family's favorite too! Except maybe the 4 year old, she likes the Big Castle too! We live in Florida, and a couple times a year, make a one or two day trip to WDW. Since we only will be going to one park we ask the kids which one, the answer is ALWAYS EPCOT!

In world showcase, at the first country you visit, get the kids masks on a stick. They are free, and every country you stop in they can decorate the mask with some thing different. It really keeps the kids interested and they can meet and talk to people from other countries.
Then you can get a chance to see all the countries without complaint!:woohoo:

GREAT explanation! Side note- make sure (if kids are old enough to understand) that NOT ALL FAMILES will get the candy from the candy lady in Japan. Another family that went with us had a 3 year old in tears after this show. :guilty: I wish I had known that- I would not have even suggested it.
It is very cool for older kids and even better if they get picked to choose an animal. (Yes we went one more time and my kids :wizard: picked a gold dragon.
