I think I will make you proud on Sunday....I have every intention of spending the afternoon shopping and getting NOTHING for anybody but me!!

Well, the thing is, we hadn't read anything bad about the buses for a week or so. Now there is a mom at SSR posting live updates and she says the buses are bad. So I am not ready to cancel the rental car just yet.

I plan on going to the fancy schmancy mall and maybe even eating at The Cheesecake Factory for the first time....it just looks so yummy.

I need to start packing DS's things.

I am going to the salon tomorrow for cut & color. I was thinking of having him wax my eyebrows, but now I am getting an enormous zit right next to my eyebrow and it is really sore. Not sure if he can work around the zit or not. 10 days before my 38th birthday and my face still breaks out like a 14 year old.

Definitely need a pedicure tomorrow, too. I need to decide if I am going to a good salon or a cheapy one for my toes. I am always afraid of getting one of those bacterial infections from the cheap salons, but so far I have been lucky!

DH and DS are going to drive me to drink.

I went in to start packing DS's stuff. DS followed me. He turned on the Pirates soundtrack. Then he started to sing the Mickey Mouse Club song OVER the Pirate music. HUSH, child!!
What appears to be a full closet is actually not all that full. DS has a lot of shirts that fit funny. He also has a lot of pieces that don't match any other pieces. I made the monumental mistake of not packing his stuff last weekend when it was all clean, so now I have to wait for the laundry to finish before I can pack the rest of his things. He doesn't have any plain underwear, which will be an issue when he wears white shorts. This will require a trip to Gap. Today.

DH decided to UNpack everything he packed last weekend and count it all. Not sure what purpose that served. I think he has finally put it all back in the suitcases.

DS has decided he wants to wear a fanny pack. I told him no. He dug 3 different (but equally horrible) fanny packs out of his closet. I told him no AGAIN. I offered to let him carry my old mini-backpack. I am fully aware of the fact that he will probably lose the backpack. That's why he will be forbidden to put anything valuable in it. DH will carry DS's camera. Not sure about his cell phone, but it won't be in the bag. There won't be money in it, either. I guess he will have a few pins, maybe his autograph book, a poncho. I will carry the case for his retainers and the case for his glasses. Nobody else would want those (I don't think ), but if they got lost it could be a LONG time for them to mosey back to Lost & Found.

I am back with the plain underwear. I had a strawberry Frappucino, but it didn't take the edge off the stress!

I bought 5 more shirts for DS, a pair of shorts and a shirt for myself, then I went to the salon. My hair is not mousey anymore! But I was tired after that so I came home without getting a pedicure. Maybe tomorrow.

Only 2 of the shirts fit DS. The others either fit funny or he didn't like the design. The shorts I bought didn't fit quite right, so all of that stuff has to go back.

A lady from AKL called to talk to DH about the cake for my birthday. Apparently they have had a huge overhaul of the cakes, so that has turned into a big drama. DH thinks he has it sorted out now. We shall see! I guess there will be a cake at dinner that night or there won't. Not much we can do about it if things get screwed up. That was why we attempted to have the concierge people handle it, but in the end they punted back to DH.

DH got the remote for the camera. The store where he WAS going to get it was sold out. (This is MY fault, because I didn't say he could buy one last week.) So he drove 80 miles round trip to buy one. Gee, I'm glad gas isn't expensive or anything!

DS sounds as hard as Abi to fit in clothes....sometimes they "should" fit and they just look odd. She tried one shirt today and it fit but was odd looking...jeans are worse.

DS is thin as a rail. His "small" shirts are really getting too short, but "medium" shirts look silly because they are so baggy. The Polo brand T-shirts have abnormally long sleeves. The body is proportioned OK, but the sleeves look goofy. And of course no 2 shirts can actually fit the same, even if they are the same brand.

I got his plain underwear and his 2 new shirts washed and packed. I remembered to put a belt in the carry-on for him. I don't think he will wear it, but we'll bring it anyway. I need to decide if I want a second swimsuit. If I do I need to go get it out of the swim bag that I keep in the car.

I need some extra Ziploc bags for leftover cake. Messy, but better than dried out cake! I don't really like frosting so I don't care if it sticks to the bag.

I charged the camera batteries, put 2 in the camera and put the extras in my backpack. I still need to work out how to do the laptop lock.

Today is my last day off before the trip! Too bad I don't feel like cleaning!

I did get the laptop lock worked out, and it is in my carry-on. The combination is letters, not numbers. The problem is that there are only SOME letters to pick from, not the whole alphabet. So it was tricky to pick something I can remember using only THOSE letters. Maybe that's why it was on clearance!

I guess I need to go to the grocery store and grab enough stuff to last through Thursday.

I am going to Disney World THIS WEEK!!!

I got my pedicure yesterday. Unfortunately the "massage" chair did quite a number on my back. I fully expect bruises to appear over the next day or so! I think next time I will request to leave the chair turned OFF!

DS and I went to the mall this morning to return the shirts he didn't like. We ended up buying him 4 more pairs of shorts. Which is good, because I packed all of his "good" shorts so he didn't have any to wear on the plane! Oops.

I also bought 2 more shirts for myself. Macy's is evil. I guess I will be doing more laundry before we leave.

DH has been fussing that we don't have enough luggage tags, but I haven't found any that I like. We bought some at Target last year (or the year before) where the piece with the name slides in and out. Well, they slid out alright! Out and away, never to be seen again, leaving an empty tag holder dangling from several of our bags. I already took the tags off of the bag we aren't bringing. Maybe I can find some more around the house. I think some of our bags might have 2 tags, too, so we can spread those around. There was one small tag we had on a backpack that has disappeared. Not sure what to think about that.

Thanks for asking about my mom--she's okay, one more treatment on the 4th then more tests to see how the turmor is.

She is doing really well, thanks! She has her next infusion Thursday. My biggest concern is that if she has side effects this time she might start to slump a bit emotionally. The first one was so easy, I hope she has realistic expectations going forward. I would LOVE it if chemo really was easy for her, I just don't know how likely that is.

Sending many good thoughts to you and your mom! I hope her last chemo goes well and that the tests show that she is getting better!

Definitely watch out for those massage chairs. I have been to that salon before and never had a problem. I've never had that problem at ANY salon! (I have no loyalty when it comes to nail places. I have 3 different ones that I go to, no real rhyme or reason to where I go on a particular day.)

She has her sister and a bunch of nieces who live in town, but she went to the first infusion by herself. Even when she has procedures where she isn't supposed to drive afterwards she doesn't like to ask anyone to go along. She just bought my sister a car, which was stupid, because now my sister will be out driving around aimlessly and Mom will be home all alone. Being alone wouldn't be so bad, but having to worry about my sister crashing the car is bad. It was necessary for my sister to get a license, NOT necessary to have a car. But they don't listen to me because I couldn't possibly know anything. Whatever.

Yep! 3 more working days! Of course this one isn't over for another couple of hours, but we'll pass over that little fact.

My bosses gave me an AmEx gift card as an early birthday present, so now I can choose a special something at WDW. IF WDW takes AmEx gift cards. I hope they do!

Not much left to do now but wait. I am not good at waiting. I thought I was going to have to work late tomorrow night, but that has been cancelled. So just 3 normal working days to go!

You could always spend the amount of the card however you'd like (cash, credit, etc) and then use the AmEx card after on what you would buy anyway

I'm sure they take it, though! Have fun shopping for yourself on someone else's dollar!
