OH NO....that cannot be a good sign of things to come.....
My teaser title? Hmmm...we'll seeeeeeeeeee....
Let me just preface this, Brook, that sitting down tonight with a big mug of tea and several of your updates to catch up on has been heavenly!
I am in love with your photo of the balloons on Main Street -- so much so that if you wanted to email me a large version of that photo to use as my desktop background, I would think you were the absolute best!
I can't believe that Joe got sick . You know, I really hope that you have put Pepto as a permanent addition on your packing list. I am glad he was feeling better by the evening though. Hopefully, you all can resume your fun the next day.
You and Henry had a lot of fun exploring both SSR and DtD. What a nice CM to give Henry ju jus! I especially enjoyed the photos of Henry blowing kisses to Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. Too cute!
Am I the bestest??
I hope you got the pics - my Gmail account was acting up, giving really strange errors and just being weird - but it said they were sent, so hopefully you got them! ENJOY!
I couldn't believe Joe got sick either. And neither could he. We were bummed, but took it in stride. I didn't really think about what he had eaten the day before until after we were home. I am SURE that was the culprit.
I like your idea of Pepto on the packing list. Yes, that is a very, very good idea.
It was a fun day with Henry! I was a tad annoyed at first because I was MAD hungry, but after I got food in the belly, I calmed down and enjoyed it! I loved the magical moment with the ju jus. Tonight Henry brought a book to Joe and apparently he remembers horses on the second page because he wouldn't let Joe even read the book, he just flipped right to the second page, pointed and said "Ju ju!"
Wow, Joe not feeling good now. I hope that he was better for the rest of the trip.
I have also been disappointed with the food choices at Artist Pallette. For some reason there isn't much that appeals to me on the menu.
Their menu is just "eh", isn't it? Where is the grease? We are on vacation people, bring on the calories!

I don't mind some of the healthy stuff, it is nice from time to time on vacation so we don't repeat "AK in November" (if you catch my drift!) BUT, we need some of the "good stuff" too. WL has a bit of both. A nice combo. I'm REALLY looking forward to eating at the Mara again in December though. Yum.
I love the updates. Sorry Joe was sick ,but it made for a relaxing day where we got to see lots of SSR! Glad that Henry had a healthy day! That salad looks so yummy- need to make sure to eat there during our stay this June.
BTW my girls always have to have their pictures taken with the gang in the pin store... glad Henry liked them too!
Ya, it was nice to explore SSR a bit more and just soak in the day with Henry.
The salad was VERY GOOD! I enjoyed every single bite!
That is cute about your girls wanting their pics with the Pin Store characters. I noticed in November they have the Winnie the Pooh figures too outside that store, I have to show Henry them in December since he very much knows them now too. He bounces every time he sees or hears the word Tigger!
I am glad that after resting a bit, Joe was feeling better. It sounds like you and Mr. Henry had a nice afternoon exploring though.
After Joe was sleeping, and sleeping and sleeping some more I was fearing he would be sick for the rest of the trip, but it was a HUGE relief when he got up feeling better.
Henry and I did have a nice day, with a touch of magic!! I just might have to plan a Mommy & Son day again sometime if Joe wants to go do something "manly".
The chicken salad looks and sounds so yummy....I must try it one day!!
It was awesome! I recommend it!
Yay at your boys feeling better!!! Henry and the horses sounds so cute!!
I know just what you mean about being everytime your baby hits a milestone. It's such a great moment that you know you'll cherish forever but it's one more step toward really truly growing up!! Jack-Jack did the walking over the threshold thing this week. Or he tried. He's learned to turn around to get down off of the couches, so he turned around to get down the little threshold step out the front door, but gravity didn't help as much as off the couches, so he was confused. He keep turning in circles, backing a little closer to the edge each time! Was too cute!!
Can't wait for more! LOVE all the pics!!! It's my goal now to teach Jack-Jack to blow kisses soon!!
Oh goodness! That is SO SO CUTE about Jack-Jack! I LOVE watching them learn. Last night Henry had two stacking cups, one large one and one very small. He kept trying to put the large one inside the small one, he just didn't get why it woudln't work.

It was so adorable.
My baby sitter taught Henry how to blow kisses by bribing him with yogurt covered raisins.

He recently learned how to make a "pop"ping sound with his mouth, so now he does that when he blows kisses!
I just found your November TR this afternoon and I have spent the better part of tonight reading all of it and getting up to speed on this TR.
I read your first TR partially because we were there at the same time as you. Plus you take some great pictures and really do a great job on your report.
Your son is so cute, I just love his hair. We had our DS's first haircut done at the MK also when he was 18 months old. He had really long hair and several CM's had already called him a princess. I love that barbershop.
I'm glad that you figured out what was making your son sick. It actually did sound like reflux to me, our son still suffers from that some. Now it's pretty much only when he gets a cold and coughs alot, which brings on the throw up. Actually we had an incident similar to yours at Chef Mickey's our first trip with him. But ours was not nearly as bad as your sounded.
I'm looking forward to the rest of your TR. I did have one question though. What are developer points? Is this something in addition to the points that you get each year?
Hi there! Thank you for reading! I'm so glad you have enjoyed the TRs!!
The barbershop is so cute, isn't it? I was tempted to get Henry's second haircut there in January, but it never happened. Maybe we'll plan another visit in December! They are so good with the kids.
That is awful about your little guy still getting sick when he coughs.

I know I've felt that way as an adult, coughing so hard it made my chest hurt and I thought I would throw up. It's just awful.
Developer points are incentive points offered by DVC when we purchased our contract. It matched our purchase contact of 200 points, but the bonus Developer points could only be used at SSR, or through II (now RCI) or at DL, and had to be used by October 2009. So there are limitations, but it's a nice bonus still!
It's too bad that Joe got sick. Not something you want to happen on vacation. It was so sweet of him to hang in long enough for you to do SM. You went ahead and made a good day out of it, I'm impressed. I'm glad he got better by the end of the day.
Henry's kisses are just too darn cute!
I was really thankful Joe stuck it out for me to go on SM. I felt sorta bad asking, but he acted like "Ya, duh!"

When we first got back to SSR I was a bit grumpy and annoyed because I was so hungry, but after I ate, I felt better and made the best of what I had! I'm so glad I did too, it was a very fun day with Henry full of wonderful moments.
Thank you!
I guess I need to get a "Joe" to make me relax at WDW! Unfortunately my DBF is still not convinced that he needs to spend any time there. Also, he admitted after having seen all my pictures from the last trip, that it is indeed a very beautiful place So perhaps there is still hope!
Friday was the day we arrived at MCO in the evening. We watched the Electrical Water Pagent at the beach at the Poly that night just after we had checked in and I remember that it was not really warm outside...
Has your DBF ever been? If not, I bet, after he agrees to go he'll be HOOKED! How could you not be?
It did get cool that night again - during the day it felt beautiful because it was SO cold days before. Watching the EWP from the Poly beach sounds WONDERFUL!
Thanks for your prayers!!
You're welcome!
SO glad to hear that Joe was feeling better after his afternoon nap! And what a nice way to spend the afternoon with little Henry! He's getting to be such a BIG boy! From your last TR to this one, you can really see the differences, they get too big too fast!! My baby is about to be 20 mos. old this week and it's just so sad to see how big he's getting since our trip in December. I'm just about done writing my TR for that trip and looking at those pics from just 2 mos. ago you can really see the difference in him!! You salad looks delish! Would you get it again? YUM!!!! And what a great way to end the day in that big TUB!!! Sounds wonderful, especially since it's about 23 degrees here in cold MA tonight!!! Looking forward to hearing the rest!!
I know - Henry has grown up SO much. I should post pics of when I first started the PTR for the November trip, then pics from the November trip, then pics from January and then current. I bet the change would be incredible!
I was just thinking about the 20 month mark looming around the corner for Henry. Doesn't that just seem SO old? 20!
I don't think I ever noticed your TR link.

I have it open in my IE now, so I will add it to my subscriptions!
I would get that salad again, it was GREAT. Very filling and delish!
So sorry to hear that Joe wasn't feeling well. Luckily sounds like it passed relatively quickly.
How cute was H's reaction to the character statues in Downtown Disney?
I always get bath bombs when in Disney and love to relax in the tub. The DVC tubs look divine!!
The DVC tubs are AWESOME. If we ever sell our house, and end up buying again, and re-do a bathroom I will INSIST on a tub like those. Ahhhh.
I haven't ever tried the Basin Bath Bombs. Mine was a Target cheapy! But, I want to, it always smells so nice in there. I think in December I will buy a few, use one on the trip and a few at home to remind me of the trip.
Great updates!! I'm glad you and Henry had a good time on your solo expedition! He's too cute with the statues and the ju ju!!! Their too much fun!
It was a great day with Henry! I look back at those pictures and they are so special.
Great updates. I am finally all caught back up. The pictures on main street are just amazing. You have a real talent there girlie. I feel so bad for you guys with the sickness in Disney. What a bummer. I love that you and Henry got some time to wander around and had fun with the situation. Dont you just love those mommy/son days. I am glad both your boys are finally feeling better. I cant wait for the rest!!!
Thank you for your compliments on the pictures! I used to be REALLY into photography, with our camera I can feel my passion for it coming back and I really enjoy snapping away.
The sickness in Disney better be DONE with this trip!
The Mommy/Son day was very sweet - I am thinking I might need to do another one at some point!
Hi Brook.... I have to say it is fun to relive the little boy days thru Henry! Our kids are 17 and 12 now and it is a different life but still so much fun. I smile when I read about his wording... ju-ju, dut-dut. So cute. In fact there were some ducks out on the golf course today and I could thought of Henry with his dut-dut. I know you are loving this age, it is a sweet time.
Oh good! I'm glad you are enjoying it! Here are a few more Henry words:
"Ah" (eye)
"Ba" (ball, or book)
"Mommy" (which is actually JOE!

)
panting noises when he sees a dog
bouncing when he sees Tigger
car noises when he sees ANYTHING with wheels!
It really is such a fun age. Tonight I took some video of his current "skills". Showing his body parts, dancing, throwing a tantrum

and blowing kisses.
That is SO SWEET about thinking of Henry when you saw the dut-duts on the golf course!
and the louder the noise...the better
Abby was a little shy, eh?
Wahoo
WOuldn't it be funny if we weren't left hanging too long!

Yes, the louder the noise the better!!
Abby was
incredibly shy.
I know! I know!

It's been FOREVER since I updated. Henry came down with mild croup, so Joe and I have been in a sleepless stupor lately and I haven't been on the DIS much. BUT, I am gonna get an update on tonight!
Great update! I'm sorry Joe got sick though. Lots of sleep is all it takes sometimes. I'm glad he was feeling better after waking up. I think the alone time you and your little man got to spend together was pretty special though. Sounds like a good Disney day to be remembered. I planned a relaxing day into our next trip and it sounds like a great idea after reading your report. Nowhere to rush off to. Oh and Casey's is on the agenda too. Just because of your report! Yum.
I was very thankful when Joe woke up feeling better! I'm glad it went away in 1 day this time and we took it easy. It was a really great day for Henry and I, magical and sweet!
I hope you enjoy your "no plans" day and Casey's! I LOVE both. It is really fun not making plans for a day or two, just seeing what comes up and going with the flow. And I highly recommend the Corn Dog Nuggets at Casey's. Many people like the cheese sauce for the fries and the hot dogs too!
Great update! You mother/son day sounds like alot of fun. Cute pictures of Henry with the statues. My sister used to call horses abagees. We have no idea where she picked that word up. She grew out of it but we still tease her about it sometimes.
That is so cute about your sister calling them abagees! I LOVE the crazy words kids pick up. I called oyster crackers "ga gacks" when I was little. My family still teases me about it sometimes too!
Hi Brook! I'm putting off starting my TR because I can't think of a title; so I'm now trying to catch up on the TRs I subscribe to see what I've missed.......
Your pictures of the BW area are gorgeous - especially the pix w/the reflection off the water. How did you like it over there? Don't you just love that walk through the International Gateway into Epcot. I love that walk even more, at the end of the night, when the crowds are heading for the front exits!
Illuminations is my all-time favorite show at WDW! I tear up every single time I watch it! Your pics of that were great! And, after seeing your snack pix I'm reminded, once again, that I forgot to get the schoolbread in Norway this past trip! I think part of the problem may be that I always go for that Fiesta Margarita in Mexico, that by the time I get to Norway, I'm not in the mood for schoolbread anymore!
And Henry is just so adorable with those statues in the pin shop at DTD!
HEY! WELCOME BACK! I saw that you posted on your thread, but I haven't read it yet! Always behind on my subscriptions.
Don't you just hate thinking of the title?!

Whatever the title is, I'll read it!! I can't wait to hear about all the details!
I LOVED the BW/BC area. So, so pretty! And I'm with ya on the IG too, that is a huge advantage about being so close! I bet it is the same for the CR with MK. While the mobs hit the buses after Wishes, just a nice little walk to the CR...ahhhh...
Well, good thing you own DVC, you can get school bread next time!

I understand though, sometimes you have "your thing" and it's all you want! A person only has so much room for Epcot in their stomach. So much good stuff...
Hi! I've been playing catch up on your TR and I just want to say how sorry I am about your little guy not feeling well. I really do hope you were able to get to the bottom of it before it got any worse. My first trip to Disney (I was 4) I got REALLY sick. My mom spent the majority of her time worried about me but I really don't remember feeling bad and she said I didn't act like I felt bad either. All of a sudden one night, my temperature shot up to 104 and she had to get me to the hospital ASAP! We were at the FW Campground and luckily our neighbor had a truck and agreed to take us to the ER. They gave me a HUGE pill (I refused the nasty antibiotics) and the next morning I was fine. I honestly don't remember the whole thing!
As a native Baton Rougean (Rouge-ian?, Rouge-ite?), I HAVE to know where this is?!?! And what could they possibly be selling? I have a feeling I will have to take a picture just like that, if I find it!
That is SO great that you don't remember being sick at WDW! I bet your Mom was a wreck! I know I would have been. Thankfully Henry has never gotten that sick! Hopefully he never will.
The Baton Rouge booth is at Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. They served a few different things - the Praline Bread Pudding is what I tried, it was GREAT. It's just a little sample that you pay way too much money for, but it's fun! They only have the booth during Food & Wine though. They had a whole section representing LA. I am not sure if they always have this, or if it was the "state of choice" in 2008. I believe they had some live music too!
