Hello everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted lately - work was BUSY this past week, in addition to that, we worked from home all week, with Henry (I cannot count how many times I have read "Where is Baby's Belly Button" this week!). Our sitter was surprised by an "all expenses paid" trip from her Mom (for her and her sister) to go LAY ON THE BEACH IN FLORIDA FOR A WEEK!
We told her "Go, go, go! We'll deal with work for a week!" So it was an exhausting week, but really great to spend all that time with my little guy.
I did manage to write a new update for the TR somehow this past week, so I hope to get that posted later today.
Sorry to hear Henry was still having trouble here. Apparently at that age the inherent revulsion to particular food that comes with sickness must not have developed yet.
I managed to come down with some sort of stomach flu that's been going around the family last week, and happened to be finishing up a project that involved sampling various candies for my Blog while, as it would turn out, I was in the process of getting sick (I most likely picked it up from one of my nephews who was sick for much of the previous week.) Even though the candy had absolutely nothing to do with me getting sick, I can hardly stand to even look at a Whitman's Sampler at this point due to the (most likely misplaced) association with the crud. It seems weird to me that a toddler will look at something that caused them to puke their guts out, and immediately want more. I suppose I'll figure these things out once I have kids of my own.
On a more pleasant note, I'm enjoying the TR and the photos.
Oh gosh, so sorry you haven't been feeling well! I hope it has cleared up by now. I so understand about the association with foods and sickness, I've got a few of those myself. One being Sweet & Sour Chicken, which is a bummer because I know I like it!
And trust me, you probably won't figure out these sort of things once you have kids of your own. They defy all logic!
We are hoping to get a table for Illuminations, but I am not sure if we really want to wait that long to eat dinner!
Poor you and Henry with the mac and cheese incident -- thank goodness for napkin lady!!!
The photos around Crescent Lake are beautiful! I spy Stormalong Bay in one of those!
That would be a long wait for dinner - I would be starved! But, it might be a good excuse to "sample" some yummies from around the World prior to dinner....
That napkin lady was an angel!
Oh yes! We spied out Stormalong Bay a couple times in this trip - unfortunatly it was surrounded with a huge fence and we couldn't really get a feel for it. It looks AWESOME from what we could see though!
Great updates, as always!!
The "Brady's go to Hawaii" descriptor makes me want to stay at the Poly even more!!! Loved those episodes!
Glad you made it onto so so many rides/pavilions that you hadn't been able to do before. Isn't the Mexico pavilion beautiful? You got great pics in there... mine never come out.
Can't say I'm a big Maelstrom fun but I do remember thinking it was cool when it first came out. Especially when you think you're going over the edge.
Those fish and chips look yummy even at 5:53am! I am most decidedly not a fan of the birds. I think they are out of control and way too aggressive. Not sure what Disney can do about them but I think they're scary!
What a nice, nice mom in Sunshine Seasons. I actually got a little misty that she was so nice and that you got help in your "time of need." What a relief. Maybe she's a DIS'er!
Poor H. Glad to hear whatever it was cleared up!
And hurrah for Soarin. My favorite!!
Mexico is so beautiful! I am pretty sure it was Joe snapping pictures in there, I remember saying "Oh, hon, get that light fixture..."

He does really well with night shots usually, he's got a steady hand!
When Maelstrom first came out, was it really popular? Is that why they have a FastPass? I'm so curious as to why...!
The birds are WAY out of control back there, but not as bad as at Kennedy Space Center (there is some foreshadowing for ya...) I bet many people can't even eat back there because the birds just swarm you. And they will just eat anything! Back on our Disneymoon I recall a bird at Peco's Bills at MK that stood there and watched me eat every single bite. Eventually I gave it a piece of chicken from my wrap, which it gobbled down. They are like the pigeons in NYC, they will eat anything you throw at 'em. Ick, ick, ick! But, they did make for good distraction for Henry and it became hilarious at how many there were!
I was thinking that Napkin Mom might be a DIS'er too! I wouldn't doubt it!
Another most wonderful update!! I'm so glad you were able to experience so many firsts, I'm glad Henry liked the play area after Figment that is a great place LOL!!!
I have to agree with Henry I really enjoy the musical presentations in EPCOT, they are fantastic!!!
Oh no to the being sick again!!! I'm very happy you had a nice mom who was there to help that is awesome
Your pictures of the resort area are amazing!!!! Can't wait to hear about spoodles...but uhoh to being close to the door...is that forboding LOL
The play area after Figment is SO neat! I was just telling the Children's Director at our church the other day about the light-up pads that play the music. I could see his gears were turning! It's so creative. I hope in December Henry darts around in there, it will make for fun video!
The napkin mom was so, so awesome!
Being that close to the door at Spoodles was for two reasons, one being very fun....
So, sorry to hear about Henry's stomach problems again. Hope he is feeling better now.
We just love the walk back to Y&BC through IG, the walk going in is wonderful as well. Thanks for posting the pics!!
Thank you!

Henry is feeling better now! No sickness at all.
That IG walk is superb! I would be visiting Epcot all the time if we stayed in that area.
poor baby being sick.... i eat/ drink so many milk products that i don't even think about it sometimes... and then eat or drink them when i really shouldn't...
and i can't wait to hear about spoodles... never really hear much about it.
and i love your pics at epcot. we spent a day there in sept and really want to go back and take our time and see lots more
I know, we totally didn't think about the dairy either - it's instinct to just grab that!
The Spoodles update should be coming later today....
Epcot is awesome, isn't it? There is SO much to look at and take-in. We've explored almost every country, but haven't ever really stopped for all the shows (just caught a few here and there). Next trip, that is my goal!
So sorry that the mac & cheese didn't agree withyourlittle guy.
IT's awesome that the nice lady sprinkled some pixie dust on you though!
Has it been confirmed that Henry has a milk allergy? Poor little guy!
The Napkin Mom was great - I was so touched by her! I love it when people see another person in need and help!
Nope, no milk allergy! Just a weird stomach bug that was irritated with the milk products. Which is a HUGE relief, but I felt so bad for him!
I loved hearing your reaction to going over the International Gateway and over to Spoodles. We really like having that gateway when we are at the BWV's.
The "napkin mom" was so nice! I'm glad she was there to help. That must have been a crazy moment for you!
I'm you went on Soarin again! That is one of the best!!!!
The IG is awesome! Such a quick nice walk! I would be in Epcot daily I think if we stayed over there. The CMs at the Norway bakery counter might know me by first name...
It was a crazy moment for me. SS is so busy and here I am in the middle of it, with all that happening.

Thankfully, my reaction when these things happen with Henry have always been reaaaaaaaaaally chill. Joe tends to wig out, so I end up doing the exact opposite. Take a deep breath and deal the best I can. The Napkin Mom saved the day though!
Soarin' just rocks! I love it!
Poor Henry. I'm glad that things got better soon and he wasn't sick anymore! And I love your IG pictures, that's one of my favorite parts of Disney! It's such a gorgeous, peaceful walk. We usually park at the Beach Club and walk over to the IG gateway entrance when visiting Epcot (shhhh... ) Great update!
The IG is a great walk! So quiet and pretty - and quick!! (your secret is safe here!)
i'm anxious to hear more!
More coming later today!
I hate that I can't see your pictures at work because then I get way behind and forget what I wanted to comment on. Let's see what I do remember...
*Kona Cafe looks so delicious. I really want to try those pancakes.
*Poor Henry with the milk, so sad.
*Marc and I call Maelstrom the "trippy viking ride" and I am going to have to show him your pictures because I started laughing at the blurry/trippy ones.
*What a nice lady helping you out with Henry! Sometimes little things like that make a world of difference.
*Would it be wrong to eat at Spoodles just because of those light fixtures?
I should unblock my "protected" account. I don't even know why I did that in the first place...I cannot recall...then I bet you could see them again. I'm going to do that right now...
Okay, there we go. Let's see if that will help!
The pancakes rock from Kona! You gotta try 'em!
I LOVE that you call Maelstrom the "trippy viking ride!" That is so so appropriate. (I think that might be why I liked it - kinda quirky and weird!)
Nope, eating at Spoodles for the light fixtures would NOT be wrong!

(or just popping in for a quick picture or 12...)
Poor Henry (and Mommy, too!!!) and what a nice lady-- you can tell she was a Mom, for sure!! There still are nice people in this world....
What a nice walk you guys before dinner, it's so pretty out that way!! Hope Spoodles was a nice dinner for you, can't wait to hear all about it!!!
Ya, after that Napkin Mom was off and things were calm again, I thought "I bet she's been there, done that!" She just swooped in and saved the day. And I am SO thankful!
Spoodles update coming later today!
Poor Henry. My middle child had a very similar problem. The best her Dr. could ever tell me was that she was suffering from a mild stomach bug and the dairy products irritated her. She only threw up when she ate dairy. I was overjoyed to find she was not lactose intolerant because we love our dairy! Anyway glad it appears to be nothing serious but sorry he got sick so much on your vacation.
I cannot wait to visit Epcot. Your pictures are amazing.
That must be exactly it! He was completely normal except the throwing up after dairy. THANK YOU for posting that! I have been thinking it MUST have been something like this (because we never did take him in to the doctor), but didn't know if that could really happen. I was overjoyed when he started taking, and keeping down, dairy again too! It was really difficult to have to find foods without dairy in them for those few days.
Epcot is GREAT! It's so pretty and there is so, so much to look at, and eat!
Great Trip Report!
But seriously...you are from Minnesota...you have a 1+ year old boy...you went to Disney in January....you love LOST....????
I think you might be ME!
My wife and I took our 18 month old boy to Disney for the first time in January (6-13). We stayed at the GF for the first time. We wanted to be on the monorail since it would be easier with our son's stroller and the 4/3 deal allowed us to fit the GF into our budget. Reading about your trip reminds me of our trip that ended about a week before your's started. It wasn't cold at all while we were there....but there were a few more people around...judging by your photos.
Anyway...from one Minnesotan to another....glad you had a great trip!
Eric

Hello Eric! Thank you for reading!
Staying on the monorail would be SO handy. Smart decision! You can just wheel right on and relax. The buses with the stroller are a bit of a pain.
How did your little guy like Disney World?
It DOES warm up, thankfully, later in the week for us! It was still warmer than Minnesota, so we sucked it up! But, I was aching to pull out the t-shirts and not have to dress in layers.
Poor Henry and poor Brook! I'm sorry he got sick again. I love when moms help other moms out. What a kind soul. Spoodles looks great! I wonder why you were glad you were by the door though. Hope all was okay.
I love it when Mom's help out each other too - I love seeing in happen, and being on the receiving end just makes me want to help those I see even more!
Being by the door was good for two reasons, one was very fun...so no worries there!
I LOVE the pictures! It really makes me so excited - especially the pictures from Mexico at Epcot. Your DS is ADORABLE. I have an 18 month old and we will be going the first week in May - I have a 4 year old too. I took my 4 year old when he was 9 months and then again when he was 3 and we had our 8 week old with us at the time too... so I guess we have had some experience with little ones and how flexible you have to be with them!
Thanks for sharing your story!
Thank you!! I'm glad my pictures have helped "feed the need", hopefully they can keep tiding you over until May!
You have to be so flexible with the little ones! But, that is what makes it half the fun. You never really know what the day holds!
Great update!! I can't imagine how scary it must have been with all the random sickness going on with Henry. When Jack-Jack was so sick over Christmas, in all my research online before we had a diagnosis, I read that lactase is the last enzyme the stomach gets back after being sick. Because I SERIOUSLY considered a milk allergy as the cause of all the vomiting. I guess dairy is just really hard on an already upset stomach and can prolong the symptoms.
Can't wait to hear the rest!!!
That makes a TON of sense. I was certain Henry was lactose intolerant that week too - I kept telling Joe, "That HAS to be it!" and would do some internet research and everything just didn't line up. And of course, the internet leads you to some CRAZY diseases, so I quickly gave that up and trusted the medical advice of my Mom! Good thing I did too!
Great updates! I love your pose - you look like you're having so much fun! The pics of the Poly are great. We've only seen the lobby (while waiting to get seated at Ohana) - now I wish we explored a little more. I keep saying it - but poor Henry! Although you probably had it worse than he did with all the cleaning up and worrying! Such a nice lady to bring you napkins - truly a magical moment for a mom.
It was a magical moment! At that moment it was just pure relief!
The Poly area is beautiful, I loved it!
Love your trip report! Poor little guy! I secretly (ok well not so secretly!) love it when guests are nice/helpful/make magic for other guests! Can't wait to read more!
I not so secretly love it when guests do that sort of thing for each other too! It was the first time I've ever been on the receiving end of it, and it was PERFECT timing. I plan to keep spreading that Pixie Dust whenever I have a moment, both inside and outside of WDW!
Great updates again. Our little guy freaked out in Imagination too!! It must be scary for them at that age. He also had a dream about the trolls. Bad mommy. Now that he is a little older he can do those rides. I am glad you got to experience the Boardwalk area. We love that resort area. Now that you are DVC owners you can stay at those villas. We paid for a one bedroom at BWV and it was fantastic. We did not purchase DVC yet because we are attempting to move to Florida. I cant wait to hear how Spoodles was. We have yet to eat there. Next time in WS you have to let Miyuki (sp... candy lady in Japan) make Henry a lollipop they are so cool. She ususally picks the little kiddos which is a nice treat.
Oh, that is sad about the dream with the trolls!

I hope Henry has just completely forgotten about all that - but who knows...in December we won't be pushing it with those rides, he'll just do the ones we know he loves!
That is so great about trying to move to Florida! Joe and I always talk about it too when we get older and kids are moved out of the house.
I wanted to see the candy lady SO STINKIN' BAD! I've missed her every trip! Well, we caught her last trip, but toward the end and couldn't really see. I forgot to mention, but it was a "must do" on this trip that didn't happen. Henry would be thrilled with a lollipop!
Hi Brook! I'm spending my Friday night trying to catch up on the DIS. I've caught up to your AK day.........
I love the parade there! It's so interactive and fun. I can't believe you and Joe got to be in it once. And Henry's expression when he saw Donald was just so cute!
So - how was Nemo? We haven't seen it yet but we really liked the movie. Is it worth it? As for EE......I keep telling Lauren we HAVE to do it; but were you really freaked? I'm easily intimidated by rides but once I get on, I love them! I don't know if I'll be able to handle it though - Lauren is determined to get me to try RnRC this trip; don't know if I up to EE also!
And I can't believe you got to see Ben in person!!!!! How cool! He's so creepy but, oddly, I find him slightly attractive.

I've noticed you discovered our LOST thread; look forward to exchanging theories with you over there!
Hi Cammie! I almost shouted out to you on the LOST thread, but didn't want to hijack it!
I think today you leave for your trip!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVE A MAGICAL TIME!!!!!!!!
Nemo was really impressive! I really enjoyed it! The music, songs and puppetry are outstanding. We were able to just walk right into the last showing, very little wait. But, we would have been waaaaaaaay in the back if Joe weren't with. And being in the front row was a bit much, but still neat!
EE was FREAKY at night!!!!! Scaryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! But I like getting scared like that! During the day it's not as scary, it's more thrilling and impressive.
I know what you mean about Ben - I think he's attractive too! He has a very smart look to him I think.
Hi
Just marking my spot so I can get started.... I know... 15 pages behind, but I'm getting into TR's again and love the title of yours!
Hello there! Thank for reading and joining along!
I read your last TR with Waldo and LOVED it! I dont recall if I ever commented or just lurked. It made me laugh and laugh though. Your kiddos are ADORABLE!
Hi Brook! Thanks for all the information on the grocery services and will pass on the information to my friend!
Isn't the Pressed Pot Coffee at Kona amazing?!?! The breakfast there is pretty darn good also...and you can still get the coffee if you have dinner there.
I am sorry Henry's belly got upset again...is he doing better? Has it happened at all since you have gotten home?
Looking forward to seeing how dinner at Spoodle's went!
I also hope you had a nice Valentine's day!
No problem on the grocery services, let me know if your friend has any more questions too. I'm happy to help!
I am SO GLAD to hear you can get the pressed pot for dinner! Joe isn't a huge breakfast man, he'll be way up on dinner though!
Henry is doing 100% better, and nope, no sickness since we've been home! Back to normal!
Spoodles coming later today...
Valentine's Day was fairly uneventful, but still good.

How was yours?
Did you ever work on the 'Price is Right'?
You definitely got some posing tips from Uncle Bob Barker.
The fish looked good. I can't wait to hear about Spoodles.

I LOVE the Price is Right! I think Joe must too because he's always the one who told me to pose that way!
