We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

What a special dut-dut moment! We alsways wanted to try Beaches and Cream, but my husband would not wait to get seated. Glad you had a great meal!

Hey Brook! I love your nighttime photo of the dock and all of the lights... so pretty.
I can't believe you met the Captain and his duck! We met him the last time we were at Disney, it was right outside MGM (DHS) on the boarding dock and here was this captain with his Cool duck. We had been waiting for the boat, watching the ducks when here comes this boat. Out comes the captain and the duck knew him right away and went to him to be fed. It was cute. :goodvibes

Henry is so funny with all the ducks!!! I love that the captain took the time to tell you about Cool -- one of the many great things about Disney!

:rotfl: with Henry as a Hidden Mickey!

Beach Club is so pretty, and Beaches n' Cream looks delicious! That ice cream looks soooo yummy!!!

Weren't you thinking of staying there once?

MeMom, just THREE days until that little girl arrives!!! Are you saying "In three days I'll be holding Bella and watching her sleep?" :goodvibes So so fun! I gotta get over to your TR and get caught up on it all, I can't wait to see her beautiful face!!!

Moving wise-family is a HUGE factor for us. Joe's Mom and Dad only live 30 minutes away, my Mom is about 3 hours away. If we move to Minneapolis we will be about half way between them both, but FL-we don't know anyone. That was a big factor in the decision too.

MORE PERSONALS LATER...I gotta get going for the day, we are headed to Minneapolis to hang out and enjoy each other as a family....Joe is basically waiting on me! :goodvibes

Well, my team teacher did bring her a couple of outfits the other day...
and I admit to putting one up on my shoulder and envisioning her there. :)

I think it is wise to stay close to family, as long as you get along.
If you don't, I think it is equally as wise to move far away!

We'll update the report on Tuesday as long as we can. I'm planning to text Dawn and she can update everybody when we can't be at the computer.

Henry is so cute with the ducks. Brooklynn loves them, too. They are always there at that dock, but we haven't had the pleasure of seeing the Captain and Cool.

I hope you have had some great family time today!

I'm so diappointed I didn't go here with DH and DNephew last year. IT looks so cool. DNephew attempted the Kitchen Sink by himself. He got beat by a couple of 4 year olds:lmao:

Those meals look fantastic. Esp the onion rings. I have not been to B&C in years. We definately have to go back for lunch one day. Yummo. That duck was crazy. Ooops I mean cool. LOL. That was a really "cool" experience. That is what I love about Disney. Unexspected things like the captain feeding his pet duck. Great update. STunning photos once again.

Another great updates with outstandng pics. That sundae was so cute. We are really going to try and get there on our trip!

OKAY! I just took a looooong stinkin' time to reply to EVERYONE and the DIS ate half of it AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

$%&HIFH&DIIJJ!(!IUJEOI(F(*$#&!!

So, for those of you who aren't in the following replies, I'm so sorry-thank you for your comments, kind words, encouragement, etc!!!

I just can't bring myself to do it all again...:headache: I'm sorry! Forgive me??? :flower3:

And, I think I might have replied to a few of you a couple pages back, but I'm tired and haven't gone back to check (lazy TR writer!), so some of you might have another reply here! :rotfl:

Awesome update Brook. I was laughing throughout your whole TOT experience. That guy sounds like a hoot. What a nice couple. Good luck on selling your home. We really need a bigger house but I'm scared to put ours on the market and just be disappointed. Houses are just sitting here, not moving at all. It's very depressing.

That couple was so great! I wish I could remember their names or something. They were so so fun and I made such a fond memory with them!

Thank you for the 'good luck' on selling the house. Houses are just sitting here and not moving either, it's a bit frustrating at times. We have a very nice 4 bedroom home, new construction, nothing wrong with it at ALL-priced as a steal-and yet it sits. Sigh.

We REALLY want to downsize and get into an apartment! (Just the opposite of most people!) I know the time will come, I'm learning patience right now...being FORCED to learn patience!

How did I miss this?! I am here (just very late) and trying to catch up. Hopefully I will get some time to myself tonight...I have LOTS of reading to do. ;) Hope you are feeling better. Looking forward to diving in! :)

Hi Jay!
I know it's hard to write a TR, plan a trip and read TRs! So no worries, read when you can! I have your new TR saved in my list but havne't been able to read it yet, I can't wait to hear all about Stitch's birthday trip!!!!!! :yay:

Can't wait to hear the housing update, sound interesting!

Also, just read your last trip update, your TOT ride sounded like great fun. Can't wait to read if you liked Beaches n Cream, we just love it, one of those things we do every trip. Looking forward to your next update.

Beaches & Cream, as you now might now, was GREAT! We loved it too! I hope we can get there again in December. Yum!

Thanks for your quick housing update... I was curious to see what you thought about it all. So you guys are city people?? :) Must be you like the action. :goodvibes
I hope you are feeling better soon!

Your welcome!! YES, we are veryyyyyy much City people. I LOVE the life in the city, the culture, the heartbeat of it all....LOVE IT! :goodvibes And, it's a huge huge bonus for Joe, since he's legally blind and can't drive, a City gives him much more independence-he can hop easily on a bus and go where he wants, or even just walk various places.

I do feel better now, the cold hung on through Wednesday, but by Thursday and Friday I was feeling good again.

I hope your home sells fast so you can move to Minneapolis. It seems like a lot of people are interested in buying right now. I know 3 first-time home buyers who have bought homes in the last month.

Do you know anyone that wants to move to Hutch?!?! :rolleyes1 :rotfl: It is a good time for buying! Such great deals. Our house has dropped in price over $20K from when we first listed it before Henry was born!

I hope your house sells quickly, and you are able to move to the city soon. I am a city girl at heart as well so I totally understand!!! Hope you are feeling better!!!

I LOVE the City...everything about it! We were down in Minneapolis today and just being there, ahhhh...so nice. It makes me very excited for when we finally do get there!

Hi Brook!
Sorry to hear that you're sick but hope you're feeling better tonight!!! It sounds like you and Joe did a lot of soul searching and I hope that things work out well for you guys and how you want it too!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope you keep us posted!! I agree, things happen the way God wants them too and you'll find your way when the time is right. Good luck with your house sale!!!!:goodvibes

Thank you! We know it will work out in time, we just need to waaaaaaaaaaait....and sometimes I hate that!

I hope you are feeling better today.

We all have our own tastes in everything - housing, clothing, music, food - and that's good, or else we'd all be fighting each other for the same things! I'm kinda glad everyone in the world doesn't love Disney World as much was we do, or it could make for some very loooooong lines! I'm a suburbs or country girl, so I'll gladly let you have the big city. I hate to even drive downtown for things, because the traffic makes me nervous.

I hope it all works out for you guys to be right where your hearts desire! Just be patient and let it come to you. You'll find the place that feels just right for you and Joe and Henry to live happily ever after!

:rotfl2: I'm glad not everyone in the world like Disney World either--but I just don't understand those who don't! ;)

I'm glad not everyone is a City person either, it would make the rents unbearable and the traffic even worse! :goodvibes

Patience...erg! Sometimes it's so difficult, isn't it? It's a good character trait though, gotta think about that and know it will happen when it's supposed to!

Brooke-sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hopefully you will be able to sell soon. I know when we were looking for a house I was so anxious & wanted to settle for something that I really would not have liked & then we found the perfect house for us & it was meant to be. I'm sure everything will work out for you guys. We live in a "City" of approx 30,000 (that is a big City for NH :lmao:) but we live on the outside of the city in a nice development. I am the Tax Collector for the city (no flames please-I just take the $$$) ha ha..& my husband also works in town so not a lot of traveling. We just love it here. It really is still "country" to a lot of city people but the city we live in has grown soooo much over the last 10 years.

Any whoo.. best of luck with the sale of your house & I hope you find the perfect place for you & little Henry.

Thats so great about waiting for your house and finding the perfect one and loving where you are! That's what I hope for too-we need to wait, and it will work out for the best.

I hope you feel better soon, Brook! I was wonderng where you disappeared too! I hope all is well with Joe and Henry. And lots of luck with the housing situation. I'm sure it'll work itself out one way or another and you'll end up somewhere that makes you happy. I know exactly how you feel - I don't think I could ever leave NY!

Life has been so stinkin' busy lately! But, GOOD busy. All last week was nutty at work, then we went to the Children's Museum and ran around Minneapolis on Saturday-Sunday's are often shot because we have two church services and I like to NAP in the afternoon. Then this past week was again nutty at work, and many of our evenings we spent decluttering and getting stuff ready for a garage sale--which is still a work in process. So, this week will just be busy again! But, it's a good thing-the house it getting very, very cleaned out!

Don't ever leave NYC! STAY THERE! They don't have Shamrock Shakes, but where else can you dip into a random bakery/bodega, get egg and meat on a portugese roll and a cup of coffee for a few bucks, eat as you wait for the train, hop on, eat, take a nap, then wake up and go to work?! AHHHHH...I miss it!

Brook - great updates...I'm just now catching up as well as a nasty cold hit. Made it through all winter and then got nailed...hope you feel better soon. And I'm sorry the FL thing didn't work out, but I'm with you...everything happens for a reason.

I'm so glad Henry got to meet his idol, how fantastic...he looked like he was just so happy about it. Oh - and for all the time we've seen the muppets I don't know if I've ever read the boards, so thank you for that picture.

The guy on TOT sounds like a hoot - I've only been on it once, but was scared for real  don't know if I'll ride it again.

On a totally non-Disney subject....Lost showed a bunch of episodes this year that I referred to as "pop-up" Lost...had all kinds of tidbits that would pop up on the screen. Did they ever do that for any other season and any idea where I could fine them?

Sorry to hear you got hit with a nasty cold too! They are no fun. I hope you are feeling better now!

I love the silly humor on everyting in Muppets 3-D. A lot of times pictures don't come out due to the weird lighting, but I always try to snap a couple and then read them later.

I'm not sure where you can find the Pop-Up Lost videos from the past...I know they have done it for at least the past 2 seasons though. Did you check on ABC.com?

Don't you just love Lost?! That show drives me bonkers, but I love it!

Brook, I hope you will find a buyer for your house soon! I can relate to you wanting to live in a city very much! I am not made for small towns or suburbs either. :goodvibes

Thank you! I knew you would be able to relate!! :thumbsup2 Small towns really are lovely....to visit!

Brook - First of all, I hope you are feeling better.:flower3:

I'm sooo far behind in my subscriptions also. Life has been getting in the way of my DISing these days - and I'm not liking it!

I had so much to catch up on.............

Once again, you take the most amazing pictures and capture such great details. I've been to Disney so many times and yet still see things in your pix that I have NEVER noticed before. Thanks!

Henry meeting Dut-Dut (yes, I think he needs to be "officially" named that!) was the most precious thing ever! It's things like that that make me fall in love with the place all over again!:goodvibes

Your experience on line for ToT sounds like a hoot! I've met some of the nicest people in the queues. There's something to be said for NOT doing fastpass sometimes.;)

Good luck with the sale of your house. I hope things work out for you and your family and you wind up living where you're meant to be living.

Thanks Cammie! I am feeling better now...the cold hung on for another day, but that's about it. Today we were at an indoor playground AND we are having ANOTHER STUPID SNOW STORM, so hopefully all those germs don't mean another cold. :sad2: We scrubbed ourselves good after playing around though, and we'll be bundled up in hats and mittens for another week.

I know what you mean about real life getting in the way of the DIS-me too! It stinks, and catching up feels impossible usually!

I hope your feeling better Brook!!! I'm just getting caught up again with all my subscriptions after getting back from our Mommy and Daddy only trip! I love the pictures of Henry with Donald! Toooooo cute! Good luck with the house!! I'm sure everything will work out the way it should in the long run!

WELCOME BACK!!! It's getting late here...and my brain is fuzzy...you have a TR started, right? I think I subscribed...hmmm...I'll have to check! If so, I look forward to reading it! Joe and I hope to do a Mommy and Daddy only trip sometime too.

Love the trip report! Thanks for all of the info!

Thank you! And welcome!!! Glad to help with the info-feel free to ask any questions too. Usually I am better at responding a bit quicker than lately!

Hi Brook,
We'll be here when you have the time...no worries!!!!! Hope things are well!!!!!

Take care,
Kristen:flower3:

Thank you-that's so sweet! Hopefully things will be a TEENSY bit slower this week!

And I was sitting here ALL DAY yesterday, just drumming my fingers waiting on that update!!

:lmao: Just kidding, I certainly understand real life getting in the way of DIS time. Update when you can, we'll be waiting :surfweb:

:rotfl2: SURE! Just make me feel gulity! :rotfl2:;)

Whatever Brook... if you really think life's more important than Dis'ing...

 Totally kidding! Take your time, we all know how things can get. I don't have a little one running around and a house to take care of, and even I've been too busy to log on much this past week. Whenever you have a chance to update, we'll be here :thumbsup2

Not many things are more important than DISing! :rotfl:

I'm actually glad, because I've been so far behind. LOL! But I am all cought up with Dis now, so you can post away! :thumbsup2

Good, I'm not the only one!!! I'm soooooooo far behind on my subscriptions!

Hi, BrookeElizabeth,

First off, I very much enjoy your reports (I have been lurking, sorry). I think I saw you over on GB's reports too.

I wanted to respond regarding the above quote. I agree with you that the atmosphere is cozy and enlarging it would kind of ruin the mood. On the other hand, many people have said the same thing as Joe about expanding into the Arcade. Here is the technical issue with that. They cannot expand the serving area without expanding the cooking area, and to do that would require very expensive expansion of the hood systems over the grill, and the grill itself, I mean extremely expensive. Not to mention other preparation/storage areas. So I don't think that will ever happen.

Anyway, again, love your reports, keep them coming.

Hi there! No worries on lurking-I do that sometimes too, sometimes it's just easier. :goodvibes

You are so right about expanding it all-it would cost a fortune I'm sure! Plus they would probably need to hire more staff and all that. I really like it tiny and cozy, so I'm glad!

That is so very "cool"! How neat that the captain has a duck friend, I find that so endearing. :goodvibes

Holy Moly! That banana split looks so very delicious. I really need to get over to Beaches N' Cream. :cloud9:

I love the pic of the captian looking so happy and proud of his little duck, it's so cute.

The banana split ROCKED. And there were desserts at the tables all around us, everything looked amazing!! You gotta try it sometime, very good burgers and YUMM-O desserts!

Great updates, as always!

Sounds like quite a ride on the Tower of Terror! :rotfl: I love how in Disney everyone is (generally) so friendly and open. I've met some great people waiting in line!

The Jupiter FL possibility had me anxious for a few posts. I lived near there several years ago and it is beautiful. But definitely not anything close to city living so if that is what you want, definitely not the place for you. Fingers crossed your house sells quickly and you can get to the city!

How "cool" is the duck story?! :lmao: Very cool!

Funny you should say you were upset w/ your Beach Club at night picture b/c I was thinking how great it was! ::yes::

Ah... Beach Club... and Beaches n Cream. :cloud9: I could go for one of those cheeseburgers now. At 8am. :rolleyes1

Jupiter does look so so so pretty! And to be that close to a beach...ahhhh...:cloud9: But, it just wasn't right for us. Maybe sometime in about 30 or 40 years!

Thank you for the compliments on the pic!! I like it okay-it's such a pretty area-and the picture reminds me of such a great day-but I know it could have been better. Just a good reason to go back and get what I really want, right?! :thumbsup2

I could SO go for one of those cheeseburgers too! It's 11:40 here, and I'm stuffed to the gills from dinner, but there is always room for a Beaches & Cream cheeseburger!

I know it-I love that sort of thing about Disney too, it made for a very speical moment!

Remember back in November when Joe and I became Hidden Mickey's to entertain Henry at LeCellier? Since we missed out on the pic at MK of Henry behind bars with Zurg (the pic that I wanted to get of him every trip), we thought this would be a fun tradition to start too...someone always has to be a Hidden Mickey at a meal at some point!

The ice cream was DELISH. It was hard to decide between all the choices on the menu!

Beaches and Cream looks awesome - and I could practically feel your food coma! :lmao: YummmmmmY! I thought that night shot was really nice - you are such a good photographer. I can't believe that duck flew up onto the Captain's hand! Very "Cool"! :thumbsup2

Beaches & Cream was really great! I want to go back again! I'm going to try to squeeze it in for December....but we'll see...no hard core planning until this TR is done! :goodvibes

I was shocked at the duck thing too! It was so sweet though!

That is so adorable!

I know it! So clever. Henry was fairly oblvious to its cuteness at this age, but very, very keen on the fact that it was ice cream!

I'm glad your DH got good looking onion rings.....ours were over cooked. And it must be something about the age because our son Liam had the same reaction to the lights and noise when the kitchen sinks came out....but we had to deal with it 3 times!

Beaches and Cream is so on our must do every trip list!

Man, that stinks about the onion rings being overcooked! That is no good. :sad2: I bet it is the age on the reaction-a drastic change in atmosphere freaks 'em out a bit. Sorry you had to deal with it three times! Ugh!

That foods looks soooooo yummy. The ducks and the captain is so cool!

It really was good food! The burgers were perfectly done. Joe still comments about it! The duck and the captain was really cool! Unexpected and so much fun.

Great update, ahhhhh Y&BC pics, Thank You. Glad to hear you enjoyed Beaches and Cream.

Also liked to story about Cool. For the many many times we have taken that boat route, this is the first time I have heard this story, thanks for sharing.

You're welcome! I love that about TRs-and I love that about Disney. Always something new!

cute pics.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

What a special dut-dut moment! We alsways wanted to try Beaches and Cream, but my husband would not wait to get seated. Glad you had a great meal!

It was a great time with Dut Dut, I look back at those pictures with a big sappy grin on my face. I've heard if you go to Beaches & Cream RIGHT when it opens there is often no wait. Might be a strategy your hubby will go for!

Hey Brook! I love your nighttime photo of the dock and all of the lights... so pretty.
I can't believe you met the Captain and his duck! We met him the last time we were at Disney, it was right outside MGM (DHS) on the boarding dock and here was this captain with his Cool duck. You know Cool! :woohoo: Isn't it great?! I was amazing how the duck flew up to him and just hung out there on his hand. So, so sweet.

Weren't you thinking of staying there once?

Well, my team teacher did bring her a couple of outfits the other day...
and I admit to putting one up on my shoulder and envisioning her there. :)

Henry is so cute with the ducks. Brooklynn loves them, too. They are always there at that dock, but we haven't had the pleasure of seeing the Captain and Cool.

I hope you have had some great family time today!

Awwwww! I can just picture you (now that I know what you look like! ;)) with the outfit on your shoulder. :lovestruc That is great about Dawn keeping everyone up to date too!

I love your comment about family and moving. I LOVE my In-Laws, so I like to be close to them! Minneapolis will be about half way between them and my Mom, it's a perfect location family wise!

I hope you get to meet the captain and his duck Cool on a future trip. I bet Brooklyn would just love it! It's neat to hear that even though she is a bit older than Henry her love of the ducks is still there. :goodvibes

I'm so diappointed I didn't go here with DH and DNephew last year. IT looks so cool. DNephew attempted the Kitchen Sink by himself. He got beat by a couple of 4 year olds:lmao:

That's hilarious about the Kitchen Sink! On a future trip we are planning with friends we are going to go for the Kitchen Sink-between four adults and 3 kids, I hope we can tackle it!

I love that about Disney too, always something unexpected, always something new! Keeps us going back every year and willingly dropping tons of money with grins on our faces! :rotfl:

Another great updates with outstandng pics. That sundae was so cute. We are really going to try and get there on our trip!

Beaches & Cream is worth the wait! I loved the atmosphere, the food and the ice cream. I think for bigger kids they make bigger Mickey sundae's too!

Love the cute sundae!

Henry did too!! It's such a creative little touch, I look forward to when he's older and gets excited about that sort of thing!

Proud Mommy Moment: I have to share a video...it's of my little Henry "talking". He knows some words, and you get to hear the infamous "Dut" (which is slowly evolving more into "duck") and "Ju ju" (which has become more of a "Doo Doo"!) in this video...along with ball, car, shoes, dog panting, monkey sounds, and him saying his version of "Daddy". I just had to share because Joe and I LOVE "quizzing" him on his words and think it's absurdly cute. :goodvibes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ysxMjICOC4

And...here is another, pretty similar though-I just LOVE these videos and am thrilled with my little guy!! And ignore the toy-destroyed room behind Henry...

I think you are being very wise when it comes to moving. When it's right, you'll know.

I hope you are feeling better. This time of the year always messes with my sinuses.

The ducks! That was so nice for your little Henry. Captain 'Bread' and Cool is a great little piece of magic.

B&C looks yummo! That little mouse sundae was adorable.

WHEW! Caught up again! Great review as alwasy. I love the cute little icecream for Henry. I really want to go there some time. Everything always looks so good.

That duck is so cool! LOL! That would totally make my day to see that too.

I am feeling better, thank you! We just got another snow storm, so hopefully that doesn't make everyone go back to sniffling! This crazy weather.

I love your "Captain Bread" :rotfl2:

Beaches & Cream was great-it was worth waiting for! Claire would love that little sundae too I bet! :goodvibes

The duck was really neat---er, "cool". ;) You usually only see that sort of thing as part of a show, at AK or a zoo or someting. I thought it was so sweet that the duck knows exactly who this guy is and he knows the duck out of them all!

Brook- those videos are ADORABLE! No wonder you are so proud. I am cracking up over "daddy," "horse," and "dog." :lmao:

What a sweet little boy. :goodvibes

Thank you!! I know Joe and I think they are completely adorable, so I'm glad we aren't alone in it! ;) I love how he says "Daddy" too...:lmao: I've even tried to get him to just say "Da" and there is NO having that!

I just caught up with your trip report...WHAT A CUTE BABY YOU HAVE!!! He is so adorable!!!! And the videos...make me giggles!!!

Thanks for sharing!!

PS. Your funny pics makes me feel like I'm not alone in this world! I can't help find an opportunity for a funny pic!!!

Ooo, another great update. I have never been to the Beach Club so this was fun to read. I always hear such yummy things about Beaches and Cream. Your pictures made me hungry!

too funny when you asked him how to say daddy...that he said mommy! DH and I have been each constantly saying Mama(me saying it) and Dada(DH saying it) to get him to repeat one. And of course we both want to be the one he says first. I said with all this coaching he will say something else first! LOL!

Henry is adorable.
