(isn't usually the other way around?) lol

Anyway, we stayed one night at the HRH, wish it could have been longer...I fell in love with the hotel. It isn't as luxurious as Portofino, but I don't think it is trying to be. It was just plain cool and a really fun place to stay.
LOVED the pool area and the extremely close proximity to the parks. So convenient.
And all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.
In fact, I went looking for the ice machine and a staff member insisted he get it for me (they make you feel like such a VIP!)

My Loews First number was typed in at check in, but I never got my treats (wasn't told that I would and didn't expect anything since we paid a discounted rate)

Anyway, in the 2 days we hit the parks, we rode MIB countless times. Could not figure out why sometimes we scored around 300,000 and then sometimes we only scored around 70,000.
We had no clue as to which were the "ones" to hit and were confused as to why at the end of the ride our scores were not always tallied correctly on the big screen.....?

Also, my husband would find that he could rack up around 35,000 points in the target practice area but when that happened, he scored low(er) on the rest of the ride.

The ride was so much fun, we all just loved it (myself 31, hubby 33 and two sons, 8 and 6)

So, if anyone can give me some advice (for next MIB visit) or provide a link to an already existing thread, it would be much appreciated.
:)
Thanks!

I'm so glad you had such a great time! We'll be at HRH and the parks at the end of August, can't wait! Here are some tips I've learned about MIB from reading the boards:

- Hold trigger down all the time and shoot at the same target many times
- In the theater area aliens are in the vehicle of the other team and you must fire at them. Aim for the Fusion Exhaust Port at the back of their vehicle, above the head of the rider in the middle seat.
- When you turn to face the giant “Bug” at the end, push the red button and hold it down till “Bonus” starts flashing on display to get 100,000
- Targets farther away and higher up score higher.
- There are aliens in the bushes on the left just before the screening of cars
- In training aim at one or two aliens and just keep hitting them.
- Near the end there is a pair of eyes on the left in the top window just above the guy on the phone If you are on the right hand side you can hit them for an easy target.

Hope this helps for next time!! By the way, where did you eat and how was it?

:D

Thanks for the tips!
I'll have to remember the one about the 'fusion exhaust port'....didn't realize that.

We drove down from Jax early Sat morning and we grabbed a quick treat for breakfast at that lil counter service place to the right when you enter Universal Studios (dont know the name, sorry)
Then for lunch we grabbed a slice of pizza/salad at some counter service place close to the Kong ride (again, didn't notice the name!)

For Sat. nite dinner, we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. I had my All Access card which was supposed to have a $20 credit on it, but it scanned for $10. Oh well, it was free money, so I didn't complain. I don't think the food at Hard Rock is very good. I had a chicken dish w/mashed potatoes. Very bland really.
Our server was wonderful though. She was very sweet and provided effecient service.

Now NBA City is an excellent restaurant, and that is where we had lunch on Sunday. (We've enjoyed eating there on a past visit as well) They have great sandwiches, I had the mahi mahi. Their tomato/mozzarella salad is wonderful (and huge!)
The kids had chicken fingers that were absolutely delicious (and I usually don't rave about chicken fingers)
The service here is wonderful, atmosphere is cool, relaxing....so pleasant. I highly recommend NBA City.

We have also in the past eaten at Confiscos (pretty good) Mythos (very good) and Margaritaville (pretty good) Pastamore (pretty good) as well as Trattoria del Porto at Portofino (very good)
I really wanted to try the Palm at HRH, but decided we were trying to keep the expenses down as much as possible on this last minute weekend getaway.

Have fun on your trip
