We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

:yay: for having a great meal at one of your favorite restaurants!!! Both of your food looked delicious and how wonderful of Marc to recreate the polenta for you at home (seriously is there a way we can get him on Master Chef?!!)

:worship: TSM....you had some terrific scores!!

Such cute pictures with Lotso!! Love the one of him hugging you! And grrrr to the woman behind you...glad she got left behind!!!!

Tracy

Congrats on the great Polenta deal and for the TSM win. Sounds like you are having a great day. I have yet to see TSM3 as my kids said there were some sad parts and I hate sad. I have heard Lotso is not a nice bear, so not quite sure why Disney uses him in a meet n' greet. Maybe he redeems himself in the end. Hopefully someday I will find out as I loves TS 1 & 2. Hoping for a new installment soon.

Cute pictures with Lotso! :goodvibes

We've never eaten at Brown Derby but have only heard good things about it. One of these years we'll have to check it out.

Yay for a great meal at the Brown Derby. We are trying it in Dec. People need to just mind thier own business. Lotso LOOKs cute but looks can be decieving. You can get ur copy of TS3 on Nov 2nd.

Wow! A great deal and great meal at BD, awesome karma on the Lotso line lady, (I'm a little evil that way too!) and another TSM victory!
What a great day!!

Your pictures are so cute - I just wish there was one of the two of you in that booth together!

Lunch at the Brown Derby looks great! I've never considered eating there but maybe I need to rethink that. I'm so glad you didn't get sick this time! :woohoo:

And, I'm so glad I'm not the only DISer that hasn't seen TS3. I'm like you, between work and school there's hardly ever time for the movie theatre. :sad2: I'm excited for the DVD too! :goodvibes

I am with Mary Ellen -- I want polenta and crab cakes, too!!! Oh, and some of that bread with the butter and thyme! My stomach is seriously growling from reading your descriptions and seeing your pictures.

Okay, I am evil, too, and was pleased to hear the line was cut off after you. I cracked up reading about how touchy-feely Lotso was! :lmao:

Woo hoo for another Toy Story win!!! :thumbsup2

Just finished both updates.....GREAT DAY!!!! So glad you both enjoyed your meals at Brown Derby and I SO knew you would be the victor on TSM again.......and AGAIN!!!! :) Great day so far---I just can't wait to hear more!

Great updates!! I'm back from my weekend away and I had to pop over. I cheated and skipped the comments. I'm so happy you got your polenta and a crab cake too. Yeah!! Looks like you got a lot of fun stuff in that day. And good for you for seeing the characters. Darn straight you paid for it!

I might have trouble ever saying no to the Cobb salad, but wow, that polenta sounds delicious.

Speaking of touchy-feely characters...on my last trip, Tigger kept inadvertently knocking off my bra & tank top strap. I teased him about it, he acted appropriately shamefaced...it was pretty funny!

Yahoo for a great meal! No issues and YUMMY food! That polenta sounds simply amazing. I sure hope All Ears is just outdated and it's back, and $2.99?!?!?! Awesome! Way to go Marc for remembering to ask for a booth. It's romantic when our men remember stuff like that, isn't it? :lovestruc

When Henry and I were in line for Lotso I was surrounded by adults, without children. It is PERFECTLY fine. Don't think twice about it! I would have answered, "I'm the kid! I'm at Disney! I want to meet Lotso!"

And WOOT for a triple butt kicking at TSM!:banana:

We got that shirt at Kohls for $3.99 before vacation! Isn't that a great deal? We also got a Star Wars one for him too. We have such good luck at Kohls.

Dude! That rocks!

Yay for a great meal at HBD!
The polenta was an awesome deal.
The photos with Lotso are great.
It really was an awesome deal...no...a DELICIOUS deal. :lmao:

It's great to see that you and Marc are comfortable enough to head in opposite directions for a little while. You get a little alone time during during your us time. :goodvibes
Sometimes karma is great! You got to go in and the lady behind you had to wait. :thumbsup2
Yay for a good dining experience, slow and easy does it.
I like that we can head in different directions. It gives us both time to do what we both really enjoy instead of dragging along someone who doesn't care one way or another.

What a perfect day! I am so glad that you were able to enjoy your favourite restaurant!! :cool1:
I was too. It was a wonderful meal!

Glad to head that the Brown Derby was a sucess. You know, all this time I've read your trip reports, I've never really thought about what polenta was. I'm not a big salmon fan so the dish never sounded like anything I'd be interested in. Your descirption of the polenta by itself though sounds delicious though. The bred and butter sounded fantastic too. One of these days I've got to go back to the Brown Derby.

That's nice that you got to meet Lotso. He's certainly a hugger, isn't he.
You should try polenta at least once and for $2.99, it's a very affordable side!

At least it's in Lotso's character to be touchy feely. It's when the other characters start getting friendly that I have to laugh. I've had a couple of experiences. Goofy. Tigger. 'Nuff said. :lmao:

$2.99 for the polenta? I'm actually shocked they didn't upcharge you, you know? That's awesome. And I was going to say, Marc must love that noodle bowl, because that's the second time I remember him getting it. I'm rather partial to it as well, great flavor. Seems like this meal was MUCH better than others. :thumbsup2
I was shocked too. I thought for sure they would give me a hard time about what I ordered since it wasn't the norm, you know?

Love the updates! Sounds like it was a great day.
It really was....but we aren't done yet!!

Hooray for a successful meal! That polenta looked so yum....
We met Losto before the seeing the movie way back in May, I can't wait to hear your comments after you get to see him in action!
I'm sure I won't be very happy with Lotso once I see them movie. :rotfl:

OK - Now I want polenta and crabcakes. That looks so yummy! So glad that your meal went well. You were in your happy place - awesome.

And rock on with that third win! That is so awesome!

Great day - great update!

W
I was in my happy place. Marc loved his noodle bowl as well so it was a very happy meal for us both.

Maybe you should submit him for Master Chef! He won't listen to me. I even said I would go wait with him in any line he has to wait in but he won't do it. He says he doesn't know enough stuff. I think he woudl do just fine. It's not like they don't give you recipes and such on the show. Ugh. Why won't he listen to me? I think he could TOTALLY win!

It was a very good day. I hope to get a new installment up today or tomorrow but we shall see!

Cute pictures with Lotso! :goodvibes

You have to check out Brown Derby, I have NEVER had a bad meal there.

I'm a lot evil like that. I totally snickered to myself too when the line lady told me that she was cutting it off after me. :lmao:

I should have asked for a booth picture but I didn't think of it!

You do need to rethink it, Brown Derby is delicious. It would be perfect your honeymoon trip!! :rolleyes1

More will be coming up soon!

Did you have a good time??

I hate it when people get snarky in line. Ugh. I just wish they would keep their opinions to themselves!

I have had the Cobb Salad at all of my previous meals at Brown Derby and while it is yummy...I just wasn't in the mood for it. I wanted to try other delicious things.

It is romantic! I couldn't believe he remembered. The polenta is amazing, I highly recommend it!

Yay for a great meal at Brown Derby!!

So glad you could eat with out getting sick and that your polenta was a heavenly as you remembered it to be! :cloud9: It was one of my better meals too.

I didn't even know who Lotso was before my trip; either way, his line was always long in Anim. St. so I didn't partake of his touch-feeliness. :lmao:

They have some great stuff in there for sale, huh? I wanted to take home the entire Snow White collection on the walls.

We saw an animator once out of 3 times this trip. Maybe they are using a little more now?

I was so happy that they would give me a side of polenta. It was so yummy!

I was surprised Lotso's line wasn't longer. Mickey's was super long so I skipped his.

I know Disney is focusing more on hand drawn animation now since John Lasseter came aboard so maybe that want that animator again, showing that...??? :confused3

Well the girl that won was just a young girl so I don't think she had much experience with anything. It is not like Hell's Kitchen or Top Chef where they are all uber competitive and scary! Although Gordon and Jeff would scare me if I was in front of them  There is still time...;)

Tracy

Yippee for such a great meal at Brown Derby! I'm so glad you didn't get sick! I hope Marc's meal wasn't spoiled by his getting stuck!

Congrats for another TSM victory!!!

Hi Leslie,
I just found your trip report, you are doing a great job! I love your pictures and it sounds like you are having a great time. :thumbsup2

I noticed you flew out of Manchester, I love that airport too!! We never go to Logan, it's so busy and big, Manchester is just so easy.

Can't wait to read more :goodvibes

I found the MasterChef website and I told him he needs to monitor it for when the casting information is posted. He said he would...I'll monitor it too. Maybe I should just apply for him. :lmao:

It wasn't. He knew he just needed to skip on the veggies that were more on the raw side, he was able to eat everything else.

Manchester is my favorite airport! I just love it. :thumbsup2

Tuesday September 7th, Part Four.

We left off with me skipping out of Hollywood Studios due to my THIRD consecutive Toy Story Mania win. Marc was a little less enthusiastic as we headed to Pop's bus stop. We also had delightful slushie cokes from the stand near Toy Story Mania. DELICIOUS! As a lot of you know, I had to give up soda after my surgery. All carbonated beverages actually so it was SUCH A TREAT to have the taste of soda in my mouth. Before surgery I was a soda junkie, it's probably been the hardest thing to give up during this weight loss process.

We walked very quickly because a bus was waiting! I didn't think we'd make it but the nice bus driver must have spotted us because she waited.

We arrived back at Pop very quickly, headed to the room to change into our bathing suits and headed to the Computer Pool. We swam longer then we did the previous afternoon, no clouds were threatening us this day. I enjoyed our swim, I just wish the pools at Pop offered more shade around the deck and such.

The day before we had made a dinner reservation. We decided that if it was going to rain during the evening again, it would be better to spend time at an ADR then getting soaked in a park. My notes say that we left for our ADR around 4ish.

I totally had a yellow walkman back in the day.

We took a bus to Magic Kingdom.

Have you figured out where we were going yet?

We then had to take a boat to a resort.

Do you know yet?

There were two boat captains waiting at the dock to relieve some other captains and they were quite lively and entertaining. We had to wait about 10 or so minutes for the next boat.

We were dropped off at the dock of.....The Grand Floridian!!

I was super excited. I had never been to the Grand Floridian so I was eager to check it out.

I thought I would feel out of place at the GF, but I didn't! I could totally see myself staying there someday. It was really lovely.

We went upstairs and checked out one of the shops and found the perfect shirt for Jen's husband, Phillip! If only he would actually wear it!

Our ADR was at The Grand Floridian Cafe. We were early but they sat us very quickly. It is a huge place!!

I made the mistake of having some bread before my meal arrived. Oy. I was a little sick in the bathroom but luckily I had ordered soup for dinner so after that one mis-step with the bread, I was good to go.

My French Onion Soup.

Marc ordered the soup of the day, Cauliflower Gouda Soup.
DSC00378.jpg

We also ordered a side of the parmesean frites. YUM! They were very, very good.
DSC00377.jpg

Our meal was quite delicious and we really wanted dessert but just couldn't fit it in. We were way too full.

Of course, since we had booked this meal to avoid the rain, it was perfectly nice outside. We headed back to the GF boat dock and decided to head to Magic Kingdom.

We arrived at Magic Kingdom right around 6:30PM. We first journeyed to Haunted Mansion. Next we went on Big Thunder Mountain, we walked right on both rides. It was awesome. There was barely anyone at the park.

I almost went on Splash Mountain with Marc but I just wasn't brave enough. I waited for him to come down the mountain though on the little bridge. I will tell you at one point I was completely horrified because the ride stopped and you could just the front of a log waiting to go over the mountain. If I had been on that boat, I would have flipped completely out!!

A very blurry picture of Marc.

After Splash, we decided to ride Pirates. We had a boat all to ourselves! It was very cool. I really couldn't believe how little people were at Magic Kingdom. I think they were open until 9PM that night but still, barely anyone was there.

I was on a mission after our ride on Pirates. Slushie Cokes!! I will admit that I lost count on how many slushie cokes I had on vacation. The soda addict in me was ignited! I'm proud to say I haven't had soda since vacation though.

We headed out of the park with our cokes in hand. We had a minimal wait for a bus and before we knew it were back at Pop for our last night.

I took a picture of my pin trades for the day and also of the Casey pin I bought the previous day.

Coming up...
A Melancholy Magic Kingdom Morning.
