Tuesday September 7th, Part 3.
I'm sorry I left you with such a short update. Somehow about 8 of my Brown Derby pictures did not get uploaded! The shame.
When we arrived at Brown Derby, Marc checked us in. In 2008, I made sure to do all of the checking in, the planning and everything. It's exhausting so this trip I made sure to let Marc do his fair share and also give me lots of input and decision making when we would change up our plans. Like the ADR we had added for this evening....
Marc asked for a booth on his own! I was so surprised he had actually remembered when I had told him how cool it was to sit in the booths at Brown Derby, we had a table in 2008.
We had a wonderful server, his name was Derrin. He was very attentive and made wonderful suggestions. You could also tell that he loved his job and Disney. I love seeing that in the CMs.
We hemmed and hawed about what we wanted to order. I saw on the menu that polenta was back but not with salmon. It was with steak.
OKAY! VENT TIME.
I just checked the Brown Derby menu on Allears to see what the polenta was called exactly and it is OFF the menu again.
Anyways...it came with steak and it was a sweet corn polenta. When Derrin brought our drinks by, I asked him if there would be anyway that I could just get a side of polenta since I couldn't eat steak. He said that would be NO problem. I was THRILLED.
We ordered and then Derrin brought out the bread. The butter had a Hawaiian sea salt with thyme on top.
I had a very small amount of bread with the butter, salt and thyme and let me tell you, it was an amazing combination. We just took a few little leaves of the thyme and put it on there and it was so good. Best bread and butter on Disney property.
While we were waiting for our food, I dug out our "itineraray". I use " " because we weren't really follwing it. Basically we were just using it for park hours, TGM suggestions and our ADRs...which changed A LOT.
Derrin came by to check on us and that is when we started talking about how much he loves his job, the park crowds, etc. It was very nice.
Soon enough, our food arrived. Marc ordered the Noodle Bowl - with Wok-fried Coconut Tofu, Soy Beans, Sugar Snap Peas, Bok Choy, and Shiitake Mushrooms in a Red Curry Broth $23.00
He had this in 2008 and he really wanted it again. He did get a little stuck on the vegetables in it and had to go to the bathroom to take care of business. After he got back, he stuck to the softer veggies and the tofu. He gave it 2 thumbs up.
I ordered the side of polenta and the Blue Lump Crab Cake - with Potato Crust, Green Cabbage Slaw, Cognac Mustard Sauce, and Rémoulade $12.00.
I know the polenta doesn't look like much but it was AMAZING!! It was a sweet corn polenta, so it had kernals of corn, black diamond chedder and it was delicious. It's creamy and almost like a very sophisticated mashed potato, though way better. I can't even begin to describe how delicious it was.

The crab cake was delicious too, Marc helped me eat it. Honestly, I should have just ordered the polenta. I ate very, very slowly. I really tried to not rush it and it worked. I didn't get sick!!
By the time ordering dessert came around...we were way too stuffed! So we skipped it, which broke my heart just a teeny tiny bit.
The bill came and Marc started laughing when he looked at it.
Want to know how much they charged us for my heaven sent polenta?
$2.99!!
It is officially the best dining deal in Disney.
$2.99!!
I should have ordered some to go.
After lunch we still had some time to wait until our last set of TSM fastpasses were ready. Marc decided that he wanted to ride R&RC and ToT again. I decided to head toward Disney Animation.
I have never seen an artist sitting there!
I really can't wait to see Tangled.
The Lotso line wasn't too long so I hopped into it. Mickey's line was wicked long so I skipped him.
Now, I still haven't seen Toy Story 3, with school and work we just never had time to make it to the theater. I'm excited it will be out on DVD soon. So I don't exactly know the deal with Lotso except that appearances are deceiving and that is how I'd like to leave it until I see it.
This was a line in which I got a lot of looks for not having a child with me. I didn't care. I pay my money to get in just like everyone else so back off. At least that is what I was saying to myself. I actually had a lady ask me where my child was and that they should be in line with me. I just said, "It's only me, no kids." Argh.
Soon enough it was my turn and they cut the line off at me. I was secretly thrilled that the lady behind me had to wait longer. You didn't know I was so evil did you?

The CM managing the line said I didn't have a Mickey shirt on but a Lotso shirt since I matched so well!
I

this picture.
Lotso was very, very clingy. I know thats the deal, Lotso Hugging Bear but...I was a little overwhelmed by how touchy feely he was.
When I was done meeting Lotso, I looked around a bit in the Animation Shop. Oogling over the Jim Shore carousel figures, I had wanted to buy one this trip but I couldn't find Ariel anywhere!
Marc texted me, and we met out in front of the archway and headed to duel once again on TSM.
Can you guess who won?
Yep, that would be me!

Marc was feeling pretty dejected by this third victory of mine. He swore revenge on our next DHS day.
I skipped out of DHS with a spring in my step and a smile on my face!
Coming up...
Pool Time, the perfect shirt and Parmesean Pomme Frites.
