Great hat pic of Marc in the Chef Hat!

Your relaxing/swimming/napping day sounded just divine. That IS vacation, isn't it? Fun, busy days in the park, broken up by a nothing day. Ahhhhh. Love it.

So glad you finally got to AKL and Jiko too! I gotta get to Jiko sometime, everything always sounds so delicious. Your flatbread looks amazing! YUM!

Super cute!!

Monday September 13th, Part 2.

This poor little guy had a problem with his ear. I can't remember what the CM said was wrong but he walked a little lopsided. I felt for this little guy because Marc and my co-worker tease me whenever I type on the computer because I tilt my head in the same fashion. :rotfl2:

We saw this guy too. We were told by the guide that he has some kind of tumor in his horn that weighs it down.

I'm so glad you enjoyed two yummy meals!! They look great!

Hurray for being the Toy Story Mania champion!!!

I love the Brown Derby bench! Do you remember where you saw it? Was it on Hollywood Boulevard?

Mmmmm, Jiko looks so yummy!!! My stomach is growling just looking at the pictures.

Ah, my beloved AKL -- all of your pictures are just gorgeous! :lovestruc

Another great update! I loved your souvenirs. :thumbsup2

Animal kingdom looks so beautiful. I'm looking forward to visiting it in a few weeks.

Will be watching for more of your TR. :surfweb:

HI Leslie!! What a great lineup of updates you've cranked out!!

OH NO! Another tough meal at Artists. I'm not sure I'll ever eat there, but I was sad to hear it was not so nice.

I think the thunderstorm may have been the same one that roared through while we were at MK. Man! That was something like I've NEVER seen before!

Brown Derby is so nice!! Glad you enjoyed your meal there! That ravioli "thingy" looks superb! :thumbsup2

So marc finally beat ya, huh? Guess we can't win them all- (but we sure can try, right? :lmao:)

I'm all caught up my dear!!! Sounds like you guys had so many nice, relaxing days....with some WONDERFUL food to boot!!! I definitely think this was the type of trip you both needed! Can't wait to hear more about it! :)

Thumbs up for two fantastic meals! I think that the dining may be one of my favorite parts of Disney vacations! I wonder if HBD has seen an increase in orders for a side of polenta now that you have "outed" it as the great deal it is! SO glad you enjoyed Jiko! That chicken flatbread is definitely on my list. Looks so yummy!!

I am feeling bad for that animal with the tumor or whatever in his horn. Poor baby. I hope they can help him.

You must be getting excited for your January trip!! :)

Great updates, LL. I really enjoyed them.

And the WL photos made me a little wistful. I love that resort so.

And who doesn't love Roo? So. Stinkin. Cute. :goodvibes

Catching up after our trip!

What a great ending to your day! Your pictures of the Mansions are amazing! So beautiful!

I’m sorry you had such a hard time at Artist Point! I must say, that soup looks icky! I don’t think I could eat that!

Sounds like you had a great morning in DHS with a great lunch! Woo hoo for Jiko too! I can’t wait to finally get to eat there!

Wow....Three updates on one page! :worship: Strong work!

While you were watching the rain from your room at POR, we were watching the rain from the TOTW lounge. I think it rained for an hour straight. It would have been do disappointing for you to have come over there and not be able to see the fireworks. I got a 30 second view before they cleared the deck, literally.

You got some great pics at HS. Love them.

Your dinner at Artist Point looks fantastic. I can't wait to eat there in May. YUMMMMM!

I have never been to AKL...been to Kidani but AKL so I can't wait to walk into the lobby for the first time!!

It's pretty cool. :thumbsup2
And over by the steps going down to Boma and Jiko -
oh, my, just get that sniffer ready,
'cause it smells soooo good!

And Ziwadi Marketplace has some unique shopping.
Very cool gift shop. :)

We shall just see who is the TSM victor on our trip in January.

I really can't wait to experience Jiko with you, it's going to be delicious and I think you will really love it!

:woohoo: for finally eating at Jiko! :woohoo:
It was worth the long wait!!

I just read THREE wonderful updates! :hyper:

They had an adorable bathroom, possibly my favorite in the resorts. :rotfl:

We really achieved the relaxing part of vacation this year, I hope to repeat that in January!

We saw this guy too. We were told by the guide that he has some kind of tumor in his horn that weighs it down.

I'm so glad you enjoyed two yummy meals!! They look great!

I bought Roo at the gift shop by the exit of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Awww, they didn't tell us it was a tumor, just something the little guy had been born with. Poor little guy!

:lovestruc
It was a bench on Hollywood Boulevard, I think on the side of the Villain shop.

Another great update! I loved your souvenirs. :thumbsup2

Animal kingdom looks so beautiful. I'm looking forward to visiting it in a few weeks.

Will be watching for more of your TR. :surfweb:
I was nicely surprised at how much I liked the decor and vibe of AKL, I would like to stay there someday!

Artist Point was good and I'd give it another try but the soup just really turned me off.

Oh, I am sure it was a fluke that Marc beat me! ;)

I'm all caught up my dear!!! Sounds like you guys had so many nice, relaxing days....with some WONDERFUL food to boot!!! I definitely think this was the type of trip you both needed! Can't wait to hear more about it! :)
It really was the type of trip we needed for sure!

Great updates! And I absolutely LOVE your little Roo - so cute!!! :goodvibes
Isn't he cute? I love him!

That would be funny if HBD did have an increase in polenta orders! I noticed they have a new type for me to try in January, goat cheese rosemary polenta, I am VERY excited!!

I am very excited for January and as soon as the holidays are over, I am going to get into full Disney mode!

Great updates, LL. I really enjoyed them.

And the WL photos made me a little wistful. I love that resort so.

Roo has always been one of my favorites!

Catching up after our trip!

It was like cement! I just couldn't eat it!

The Ziwadi Marketplace was really interesting!

Tuesday September 14th.

When I woke up on this morning, our last full day in Disney....I had no idea what I wanted to do.

I was torn in several different directions.

*Pool Day
*Downtown Disney for lunch
*Epcot
*Animal Kingdom

I woke up Marc and we went back and forth between Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Finally we decided to see what we could get for a lunch reservation at Epcot. With a little luck we were able to secure Les Chefs. We got ready and made our way to Epcot.

This was only the SECOND time we had been at Epcot on our 10 day trip. I couldn't quite believe it but that first day at Epcot made me overloaded for sure.

We split up when we arrived, Marc to Mission Space and I to get fastpasses for Soarin.

I met up with this guy while I was waiting for Marc.

DSC00896.jpg

Too bad my eyes are closed because it's a really cute picture!

I walked towards World Showcase and saw a film crew...again. We had seen film crews all over the place but no familiar faces.

Marc met up with me and we headed towards my favorite WS pavilion.

We made our way over to France and waited for Les Chefs to open up.

At our table.

Our cheese plate. Which was disappointing after the great cheese plates we had at Jiko, Artist Point and Flying Fish.

Marc's french onion soup.
DSC00914.jpg

Our flatbread. SIMPLY DELICIOUS! I love flatbread.
DSC00915.jpg

My lobster bisque, delicious as always.
DSC00916.jpg

I have to say that Les Chefs had very slow service this time around, I know they don't want to rush you but it just seemed to take forever to get our check and to cash out.

We did happen to see this guy while we waited...
DSC00917.jpg

He is seriously cute with all his little squeaks!

Coming up...
To soar or not to soar?

Soar!!!! :lmao:

What a great looking lunch! Yum, yum. And Remy's so cute. I love his little squeaks too.

HOw strange that the cheese plate in France was not as good as the others. I would think France would have lots of wonderful cheeses. :confused3

So sad for the last full day. :sad2:

Such pretty pictures of UK!
I think we had a cheese plate at dinner at Les Chefs in August that looked different than yours. Plus it was really good!
But you got to see Remy. He didn't come out at dinnertime. Glad I hadn't told the girls about him.
