We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

Hon, I'm super behind but just wanted to comment on the last update. What beautiful landscaping around the mansion buildings! Gorgeous. That must have been so relaxing to stay there.

That Bayou Boogie CD looks so cute! Do you like it? We listen to the Princess and the Frog soundtrack in my car every day, so anything else similar would be awesome. I'll have to look for it when I'm down there.

Oh my, those pictures of POR remind me of the antebellum homes around St Franisville. Just beautiful!

Lots of great souvies! I have those stickers too. I'm going to use them on scrapbook pages someday.

I want that brownie! It looks so good and I love creme cheese icing.

You look so cute in your skirt! I could never rock a skirt at Disney World!

I have that same Mickey head bag and I adore it. I use it on every trip I go on, including non-Disney trips.

I adored staying in the mansions last summer!! LOVED it!!! And you took (haha, and Mark!) took some great pictures of the buildings and landscaping!

I"m just so thrilled you enjoyed your dinner at FF!! That one is definitely on my list of to-do's someday! Mmmmm!! So great that this was your perfect Disney day- such a sweet finish to it with that tasty looking decadent cheesecake brownie!

Oooooh my goodness...every picture I see of POR makes me want to stay there more and more! Beautiful, beautiful!!

What a perfect day you two had-I can't believe how much you got done at MK! I have wanted to try Flying Fish for a few trips now, and I think I just might have to squeeze it in somewhere during our Feb/March trip since we are staying at BWI again-it gets such good reviews and it always looks sooooo yummy.

Beautiful pictures from POR -- the ones of you and Marc are really cute! I so wish I could convince Charles to stay there in May, but he seems to really want to stay at CSR for some reason. :confused3

I have those same stickers but haven't used them yet, either.

Love the tote bag -- I need a new work bag, so now I have bag envy.

That cheesecake brownie looks divine! Yummy!

What a great end to a great day! The more you show me pictures of the mansions the more I am intrigued. If I am ever brave enough to tear myself away from my first resort love, then I am headed that way. :thumbsup2

Love all your purchases. Very fun and unusual. How do you plan to use those stickers?
I really loved Riverside, I just didn't love the buses. I think I will rent a car when I stay there again.

I have no idea how I'm going to use the stickers. :rotfl:

POR is quite beautiful.
And that cheesecake brownie looks so good! I wish I had one for an afternoon snack :)
It was really really good!

That brownie cheesecake recipe was in the DVC magazine I just got the other day!!! DH says we should make it. I actually have a similar recipe and it's not hard. Maybe I'll try it!!
You should, they are very yummy!

Awww...I just love POR, especially the mansions!! What great pictures! As of right now it's definitely my favorite resort on property! Awww...to be there right now!!

You guys look great in front of the fountain! What an awesome picture!!

Great souvies!! WOOT WOOT!
I think I agree with you, it's my favorite too. Though I think Boardwalk is going to be pretty high on that list too. :rotfl2:

I do like it, it's different from the movie soundtrack but along the same type of music.

They are so beautiful! I love the Mansion area, it was so peaceful.

You look so cute in your skirt! I could never rock a skirt at Disney World!

I have that same Mickey head bag and I adore it. I use it on every trip I go on, including non-Disney trips.
My skirt worked really well at Disney. I would bring it in January but I think it will be too cold!

I can't recommend Flying Fish enough. It is truly delicious!

It was a perfect Disney day, in fact I think it was the best day of our trip.

May? Where have I been? Do you have a May trip planned!? Details!!! :lmao:

I just noticed today that the little pocket on the inside of my bag has ripped. :guilty: Oh well! I guess that means I get to buy a new one in January. :rotfl2:

I just found this tr and I am only into daY 3.. Oh my, I guess I know how I will be spending my day today :rotfl2: I am also from MA.. I have loved hearing all about your trip, although not happy to hear what a hard time you had with the food.. I hope that it gets easier for you all.. I look forward to reading the rest and getting some good ideas for my trip in May at the CSR..

Thanks for reading!!! :goodvibes

The food thing gets a little better as the trip goes by. :thumbsup2

Oh, I haven't been advertising it too much. Charles and I went around about it for awhile, but Charles finally convinced me that it would be foolish to pass up free dining when, in Disney's eyes, we are considered a family of four "adults." I booked ADRs long before I booked the package. Charles also nixed my idea of Riverside -- he wanted CSR because he loves the Pepper Market. I am sure there will be more details when I start a PTR after I finish the July TR. I am still thinking of a name. ;)

Sunday September 12th.

We had already decided that this would be our second resort/pool day and when I woke up I still felt that was a good decision so that is what we did!

I woke up fairly early and I think we were at the quiet pool around 9ish. We brought laundry to do again, with no meltdowns so that was improvement from the last time we did laundry.

Marc was kind enough to walk to the food court to get us some breakfast to share.

At some point in the morning we decided that we wanted to make an ADR for dinner. We knew we wanted to try another Signature resturant, so I called from the poolside and we snagged Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge.

I also used my womanly skills to talk Marc into taking another taxi. :goodvibes

We were supposed to meet up with MEK and her friend to view Wishes from the Bay Lake Tower lounge and at somepoint during the day we decided that we were just too tired and that after dinner we wanted the option of going into a park or just coming back to the room to relax. I texted her and she completely understood, we made plans to meet up at MNSSHP on Tuesday night instead.

I'm not sure what time we went back to the room, but we did at somepoint. We took showers and naps. I fell asleep on my wet hair so please excuse my hideous hair for the rest of the day.

After we napped, we caught our taxi and headed to the Wilderness Lodge. Marc took these pictures.

We were able to snag a nice table with an umbrella and we spent most of the morning just relaxing, reading, soaking up the rays and swimming. It was truly delightful.

We looked in the gift shop and I think I bought a few pins for my co-worker. I also traded at the pin cart. I love it when they have those giant pin trading books. So much fun. I made the mistake of trading pins with the DVC guy and got the spiel again. :lmao:

We checked in at Artist Point and were sat as soon as they opened.

Our bread & butter. I skipped this, Marc said it was delicious.

DSC00771.jpg

We took pictures of each other.
DSC00772.jpg

DSC00776.jpg

We ordered the cheese plate again since it worked so well at Flying Fish and I ordered the portobello mushroom soup.
DSC00777.jpg

The cheese plate was excellent, not quite as good as Flying Fish but we both loved it.

I'll be honest. I didn't like the soup. The first bite was good but then the color and texture got me. It was like eating cement. And to top things off, the soup made me sick, into the bathroom I went. Marc loved my soup and wants to have it again.
DSC00778.jpg

I also ordered a side of the sweet potato hazelnut gratin. I did not love this either. I thought the sweet potatoes would be softer, they were on the harder side. Marc did like this. He took my leftovers home.
DSC00779.jpg

Marc ordered the Pan-seared Halibut with Dungeness Crab risotto and blood orange sauce. He LOVED this meal. He still raves about it.
DSC00780.jpg

At our Artist Point meal, I had to go to the bathroom three times to be sick. It just didnt' agree with me but I can say, it is a lovely bathroom! Very pretty.

After having a hard time to eat, I wasn't feeling going to a park and I was glad we had already rescheduled with MEK. We hailed another taxi and headed back to Riverside.

I will say that I'd give Artist Point another try. I would have the cheese plate again and I think I'd order the fish Marc got. I think I had a bite and I remember it being good or Marc could have just talked about it so much I think I had a bite. I'd also like to try the goat cheese tart with huckleberry ice cream they have on their dessert menu. Sounds yummy.

We stopped at the gift shop. Isn't he cute? :rotfl:
DSC00781.jpg

I think I bought some mashed potatoes and corn at the food court to take back to the room with me to eat. They were delicious.

Once were settled back in our room a violent lightening/thunder storm came through. Marc took pictures. They are blurry but you can see how dark it was and then the next picture the entire sky was lit up. It was crazy loud! I was glad that we stayed at the resort instead of trying to see the fireworks, it worked out well.

Marc got this for dessert.

We are eating there again?

I just mentioned to Jen how I was sad that you didn't have a ticker for your next trip yet the other week!

Too bad he nixed Riverside, it's so relaxing and you would have your car so that would work out. Can't he just drive to the Pepper Market?

And look at Charles doing Fuzzy Disney Math!! :lmao:

Fun and relaxing days are just wonderful have especially at Disney!! Glad you had such an enjoyable morning!!!!!

Pool time...so much fun!!!!

Your pictures of WL are stunning! I would love to see it person some day!

What a storm!!!! I remember FL storms they can get pretty scary!!!!

Sorry you got  again at dinner. Marc's face looks so thin! I also thought your hair looked :cutie:

Wonderful pictures of WL. I need to go there during the day. I've only been there at night and the pictures are so dark.

Sorry your meal wasn't so great. It sounds like it's lots of trial and error to find the best foods to eat. I'm sure as time goes by you'll get it down pat.

Enjoyed seeing the pretty pictures of POR.
Nice souvenirs, too. How is that CD?

And, yes, your Mickey chef fella is cute. :)

Yes, Charles and Fuzzy Disney Math -- who would have thought! He really wanted CSR, and anytime Charles actually shows interest in a Disney trip, I figure I better jump at it. ;)

Wilderness Lodge is so pretty, and dinner looks good. Too bad it made you sick!

I love all of your relaxing days at the resort!

Wilderness Lodge is worth seeing in person. It's so beautiful and majestic.

It was a really loud and scary storm. I finally had to yell for Marc to get back inside while he was taking pictures. :rotfl2:

Sorry you got  again at dinner. Marc's face looks so thin! I also thought your hair looked :cutie:
Aww, thanks! That's what I call "Nap Hair". :lmao:

It does get dark inside WL. It was trial and error but I think I've got a good idea of what is going to work in January.

The CD is good, it's very bayou-ish.

That's right! You have just got to jump at things like that. :thumbsup2

Monday September 13th.
I am determined to finish this TR before Christmas. I will just add it to my to do list that is already numbering into the thousands.

The previous day we had decided that we wanted to hit Hollywood Studios again and eat at one of our favorite places....Brown Derby!

We were up and out of the room in plenty of time for rope drop. At rope drop we split up, Marc to get TSM fastpasses and I would meet up with him.

I took a detour to meet up with Minnie real quick and then headed over to TSM and waited.

And waited.

Oh and I waited.

Marc had an awful time getting fastpasses and by the time he got them the stand by line was up to 30 minutes. No thanks! Marc took off to ride Tower of Terror and Rock N' Roller Coaster and I went meandering.

DSC00800.jpg

Voyage of the Little Mermaid's first show wasn't for another hour or so, so I stopped in a gift shop and chatted to a few CMs.

Then I went wandering some more....

Then it was time for Voyage of the Little Mermaid...again. I love this show. I believe I watched the first show of the day but I'm not 100%.

By the time I was done with VOTLM, Marc had rode ToT and RnRC a few times each. He said there was no lines for either of them. He met back up with me after I purchased a few pins (pictures to come later) and a little stuffed Roo.

It was time for a final Toy Story Mania match up.

Guess who won?

DSC00837.jpg

Marc!

Pffft.

So if you are keeping tally, I won 3 games and Marc won 1. I am still the TSM Champion!

I know that we ordered slushie cokes from the stand near TSM.
DSC00838.jpg

After that, I'm not sure what we did. I think we may have looked in the gift shops some more, I did take this picture so we were over near them.
DSC00839.jpg

We had an 11:35 ADR at Brown Derby so we got there a little bit before 11:30 and checked in. It seemed there were lots of people in the waiting room, I finally figured out that a lot of the people there were having the Lunch with an Imagineer. I was so jealous! What a fun thing to do.

Before too long we were settled into our cozy booth. We both ordered a side of polenta and I ordered the mushroom ravioli thingy and Marc ordered the crab cake.

We took our dessert to go for a snack back in the room. After lunch we decided that we had both done everything we wanted at DHS and headed back to the room for a swim/nap combo.

My souvenirs.

Our yummy dessert.
DSC00855.jpg

For the rest of the afternoon, we went swimming and I think we took a nap. I'm not sure and I had stopped taking notes by this time. I do know that we had another delicious ADR for dinner that night.

Coming up...
We are not disappointed!

Monday September 13th, Part 2.

Seeing as though I'm on a roll today, how about another update?

After our afternoon of I'm not really sure what we did (napping/swimming?) we readied ourselves for our dinner reservation at 8PM.

It was a long time coming but I FINALLY ate at Jiko! I think I have had an ADR at Jiko on all of my last 4 trips and finally I made it. I was very excited.

We headed to AKL by taxi (I converted Marc to see the way of the taxis) early because we wanted to explore a bit before our ADR.

I was so excited to finally see the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

DSC00856.jpg

DSC00857.jpg

We went outside to observe the animals.
DSC00859.jpg

This poor little guy had a problem with his ear. I can't remember what the CM said was wrong but he walked a little lopsided. I felt for this little guy because Marc and my co-worker tease me whenever I type on the computer because I tilt my head in the same fashion. :rotfl2:

When we arrived at AKL we probably had more than an hour to kill before 8PM. We took pictures, we looked in the gift shop and finally I found myself a cozy little chair and read in the lobby while Marc explored some more.

I was not disappointed in AKL. I can imagine myself staying there someday. I couldn't believe how LOUD Boma was though. My goodness!

Then we checked in at Jiko. We ordered the cheese plate again, delicious! Marc ordered the Tanglewood Chicken with the goat cheese mashed potatoes. He raves about this meal as well. I ordered the BBQ Chicken flatbread which lived up to my expectations! It also made an excellent snack when we got back to the room. :rotfl:

After our meal we took a taxi back to Riverside. It was pretty late at this point, so we headed to our room to get ready for bed.

Two last pictures for the night.

We were up in the air as to what we wanted to do the next day. Our only concrete plans were that we had MNSSHP in the evening.

Coming up...
Where would the day lead us?
