We've taken the DVC tour, too. Jil and John have done it twice, actually. It does make you want to sign on the dotted line, but it is a big commitment. The girl who was talking to us couldn't figure out why in the world I hadn't signed up, as often as we go, but I told her the number one thing holding me back was the long term commitment. If we have the money, we get to go, and if we don't, then we don't. I think when I get my house paid off in a few years, I will be in a position to take that money and put some toward fixing the house up and some toward DVC. Then I can will the DVC to the kids.

I'm anxious to see what you decided. Thanks for sharing your good time with us.

I hope you and Marc have an awesome Christmas together.

I LOVED the way you spent your last night at WDW. It seemed so relaxed, yet fun riding all the best rides at the MK. It was even nicer having been able to share some of it with other Dis'ers!

I am looking forward to your next report letting us know what decision the two of you made reL: the DVC club.

What a wonderful, relaxing trip you both had.

I really enjoyed our meet. I think we rode Splash twice and BTM twice. It was so much fun. As for the drenching, I had seen people come off the ride on Sunday and I was SHOCKED at how wet some people where. Since I didn't have a shower cap like Wigd, I had to go for dollar store poncho.

Hallowishes was so beautiful and as I was going through my pictures I was secretly thanking you for securing such a wonderful spot. I did have to crop the same ladies head out of my pictures a gazillion times, but it was otherwise perfect.

I am so glad we got to meet. You are Marc are both so lovely and friendly! You certainly have a keeper there!

Oh, no, you did not leave us hanging with the DVC cliffhanger! I will be a mass of emotions if you have been holding out on us for the past three months!!!

Okay, back to your last night and the MNSSHP! I don't really blame you for opting to forego the costumes. I am always concerned about being comfortable in the parks.

I was going to say you totally needed to buy the Mickey Pumpkin Ears until I saw the picture of the witch's hat! That's what you needed!

The ghost lady at the Haunted Mansion is so neat! I want to play that role!

How fun that you were able to meet up with Mary Ellen and Jen at the party! Hurray for riding Big Thunder twice and Splash Mountain. Too bad you were drenched.

I was really worried that I would be too hot, it had been a hot week and I just didn't want to be miserable.

I was so drenched! It wasn't even funny.

On the Disney Cruise they have Ratatouille's cooking class in the kids' clubs! I think they make chocolate chip cookies.

LOVE all the great pictures from MNSSHP! I ordered a headband on line this year with Mickey (Minnie?) ears and a candy corn on top (like the peak of a witch's hat) and dangly candy corn earrings. I wore that around on Halloween and to my kids' school party.

Sorry you got so wet on Splash! I was going to say how cute your hair was - before that happened!

Hey LL! I managed to finally get caught up with your TR. Looks like a fun last few days. Loved the pictures from DHS and Chefs de France especially (that picture of Remy is super-cute!). Everyone in my family who has tried the flatbreads at France has just raved about them, so I'm seriously considering trying them instead of my usual favorites next time I'm there.

I highly recommend the flatbreads, they are so delicous!

That was what our DVC guy was saying, that we could have practically paid for all of our DVC membership with all the trips we have taken in the last few years. It's a huge financial commitment though! It really is.

We really did have a wonderful trip. I'm so glad that we went, we both needed that time together.

We did not go on Splash twice, they offered it to us but I refused.

I feel like I have been writing this Trip Report for a very long time but it has only been a little over three months. I'll be honest, it feels like our trip was a year ago.

I've decided to do a picture highlights of our trip, in no particular order.

As far as the DVC decision...

We thought long and hard about it. By the time we got home after our flight we decided YES!

The next morning I woke up and decided NO!

We went back and forth until Saturday morning and decided that......it just wasn't the right time for us. Since we have gotten back we have been working really hard to pay off our exsisting debts and we have done a very good job! I'm really quite proud of us. We have a list on our fridge with the debts & amounts we owe and we cross them off as we pay them off. It's a good feeling. I know we will buy DVC someday, just not right now.

As far as our next trip, we have no idea when that will be. I'm going in January with Jen and then after that it is wide open. I really would like to go for the Christmas decorations. We are thinking a late November/early December trip in 2011 or 2012, only time will tell!

What?????? We only went on Splash once??????? Well, considering the "splash" factor during that ride, it makes total sense.

I understand your decision not to buy DVC at the present time. I made the decision not to add on when I did my kitchen, and it was definitely the right decision.

Yeah - for a late November 2011 because guess who is going then?????

That's right - me and the Denster. We actually have a one night premium package reservation at Pop for the Monday after Thanksgiving! We will combine a 3 night POP stay (2 hectic days on the premium package) with a 3 night DVC stay. 2 days of craziness followed by 3 days of chill.

How great would it be if we ended up there at the same time again!

I am dreaming of a Christmas visit in Dec of 2011 (I believe there will be a DIS event again this year) so how cool would it be if we were there at the same time?

DVC will be around for a long, long time, I am sure. When you are ready, it will still be there. Good for you for attacking and tracking your debt. That is one of my 2011 goals.

I loved following along on this trip with you and look forward to hearing about your Jan trip with your BFF Jen. I'm sure you two will have a super time!!

I really loved your ending montage of photos! Great highlights of your all-in-all good trip. Sure it had it's ups and downs, like every trip does (some of the meals, and your non-costumed party), but really overall it really sounded like you and Marc had a great time.

So much to comment on! First, I hope you and Marc had a wonderful Christmas!

I loved your World Showcase pictures from your last day, they were just beautiful. It looked like a perfect day. I love how you took it so nice and slow on that last day-no overload!

The DIS meet! What a very fun meet! I love how you conquered BTMRR a few times AND Splash!

You and Marc both look fantastic. I stopped to look at a few pics in awe. GREAT JOB! I know it's not easy, and you two have done wonderfully!

And the DVC cliffhanger had me , but I also see your update from yesterday. And I gotta say, as someone who was in your exact position 3 years ago, paying off debt, doing REALLY well with it and faced with the DVC question---you made the right decision! Truly! While I don't regret buying it, I DO wish we had waited a bit, or bought resale and paid outright. We still have a loan on it, and since I have stopped working things have been very, very tough money-wise. That money that goes to DVC every month hurts a tiny bit. We could really use it for normal life, or to pay off the school loan and be done with that! But then I wonder if we would have been able to save enough for a Disney trip... Who knows! It is what it is. So, I think you and Marc made the right choice for now! It will happen when the time is right!
