Tuesday September 14, Part 3.
Once we were back in our room at Riverside, I had a decision to make. To dress up for
MNSSHP or just skip it?
Marc was crabby about his bowling shirt, he thought he looked silly in it. I wasn't really feeling putting my poodle skirt on. I just didn't want to worry about being comfortable or not. I hemmed and I hawed, I didn't want to disappoint my loyal DIS readers but in the end I decided to skip the dressing up part. I was on vacation after all, I was supposed to be relaxing not stressing out.
We left our room around 4ish I believe. We had a bit of a wait until a bus came around.
Once we got to MK, Marc wanted to ride Space Mountain again. I waited in the Space Mountain gift shop....and waited and waited. There had only been a 10 minute wait posted but I waited probably close to 30 minutes. Apparently the ride had shutdown for a bit.
After Space Mountain we headed towards Pirates.
Marc took these pictures...without the flash of course!
We wants the redhead!
After the ride I modeled some head wear.
We moseyed over to Frontierland and I think Marc may have gone on Splash Mountain or done something. What I don't remember. I was taking pictures by myself. I also had a few CMs ask to see my bracelet because it was time for the day guests to clear out and only party guests remaining. I also completed a few pin trades.
Marc met back up with me and we headed to Liberty Square.
I love the ghost lady that they have at MNSSHP, she is a great addition!
Marc attempted to take a picture of our hitchhiking ghost.
More Halloween headwear. I almost bought this!
The line to meet the dwarves was way too long but I snuck a picture in between people.
Cinderella's beautiful carriage.
It was at about this point that I had been exchanging texts with MEK in order to meet up with her and her travel buddy, Jen. MEK was heading back to MK and Jen was heading towards Fantasyland to meet up with Marc & I. MEK had told her to look for my poodle skirt but I wasn't wearing that and had to fess up to MEK.
Finally we met up and it was so wonderful to meet MEK after talking on the DIS for the last few years!
After chatting for a few, we decided to do a ride together....BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN!
There was no line, we walked right on and we sat...IN THE FRONT! MEK and Jen assured me along with a few CMs that the front is actually more mild on BTMRR. I trusted them.
We had a fun ride, I think there were very few people in our car if any. It's so much fun riding BTMRR at night.
So much fun in fact that we rode twice in a row. I think it was twice...the CMs told us as long as no one was waiting for our seats then we could keep riding. MEK, did we ride twice or three times?
After BTMRR, MEK, Jen & Marc talked me into going on Splash Mountain again. No wait again. Gotta love those special events at MK! I did not sit in the front but allowed Jen & MEK to take the honors.
I have to tell you, I have never ever gotten as soaked on a ride as I did this night. The first splash and I was soaked. In fact, I think I was the victim of the most water.
Our ride picture! Check out MEK's glowing glasses!
I was dripping wet when we got off the ride. At this point, it was almost time for Hallowishes. Jen & MEK split off from us to get some food from Pecos Bill's, I said I would try to save them a space and we could meet back up for Hallowishes.
Marc & I headed to the Castle hub and it was PACKED. So we hunted around and finally settled on watching the fireworks from where they have the Wishes Dessert parties. We snagged a table and waited. I think Marc had bought a turkey leg on the way, which just grossed me out but to each his own. Marc offered to go get me corn dog nuggets from Casey's but I was afraid he wouldn't make it back in time.
MEK & I texted a few times and she made it to our table just as the fireworks were starting. She had lost Jen on the way so she watched the fireworks from a different spot.
They were just gorgeous! These are my favorite fireworks so far at Disney.
After the fireworks, Jen found us again and MEK & I took pictures. I am sure MEK's came out much better. Please pardon my bangs, they were victim to Splash Moutain.
After pictures we headed to Tomorrowland for a nighttime spin on the Peoplemover and of course a slushie coke! We parted ways, it was a great meet. Marc & I had so much fun meeting you MEK & Jen! Even though we hadn't seen Boo to You yet, we decided to head back to Riverside. We were tired. I debated stopping to get corn dog nuggets but thought we'd get back in plenty of time to hit the food court.
Not so much. We had the slowest bus driver EVER who stopped at all of the other bus stops before heading to the main building. I was NOT happy! All the hot food was off, I don't remember what we ended up grabbing for dinner but it wasn't great.
Wednesday September 15 - Departure Day!
Even though it was our last day, we had plans that Marc had arranged a few days earlier.
What do you think it was?
Nope, not a park visit.
No, not parasailing.
Not even a lunch ADR.
Marc had scheduled us for a DVC tour!
I will admit, I was cranky about this tour. I knew we couldn't afford it at this time and didn't want to get my hopes up but being the good wife I am, I went along with it.
We packed up our room, forgot to leave mousekeeping a final tip which I'm still upset about and checked our luggage at bell services for Magical Express.
Before I knew it, we were in a DVC van making our way to Saratoga Springs. I'm sorry to report I have ZERO pictures from this day.
We met our DVC guide, who I don't remember his name but I have it written down at home. He was very nice, explained everything but I could have done the presentation myself. I knew just about everything. The presentation was more for Marc. The DVC dude even remarked a few times that I was more than qualified to do his job.
Then we did the tour of the rooms and to be honest, I love the Bay Lake Tower rooms the most. I can totally see myself staying there.
Then came the number crunching....aka the time where Leslie has the heart attack. DVC dude did his sales pitch, gave us time to think and then left us alone. I told Marc there was no way we could afford that price right now. Then DVC dude came back and offered us the 100 point deal...I perked up. We could afford that.
Hmmmm.
I was a responsible adult and said we had to think about it. He gave us until Saturday to call and seal the deal and still get this pricing and the incentives he was offering.
We had a lot to think about.
We skipped the free ice cream and headed back to Riverside. We had a nice lunch, read some magazines and books in the food court and before too long it was time to catch Magical Express. We even were allowed to get on an earlier bus since we were ready and waiting.
We checked out some fo the shops at the airport since we were so early and I bought the second book in the The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo (very good by the way) and found our gate.
Our flight was uneventful but one exciting thing was there was a seeing eye dog on the plane! A beautiful german shepard who was so well behaved on the flight! I also had a nice chat with a man on the plane about the The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and before too long we touched down in Manchester and were on our way home.
Coming up...
