We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

Getting all caught up today... You two eat at some great restaurants!! We're trying out Les Chefs in March! I can't wait! :cool1:

Hey there LL! Just got all caught up on your updates. So much fun! It is really clear that your days at Disney together were very easy going and relaxed! Throw some great new restaurants in there and you seemed to have had a wonderful time! Trying all sorts of new experiences! Good for you! Some wonderful photos, too! You both look super happy! I have had that cheese plate at Jiko! YUM! :thumbsup2

What a great update!!! Such a cute picture of Marc in the phone booth...love it!!

I hope you Soared LOL!! I love that ride!!!

YAY for a great meal!! That flatbread looks delicious!! YUMMY!!! I want one!!

I can't believe we are on your last day...where has the time gone!

Your last full day? Oh boo. Good thing you have another trip coming up for us to follow! ;) WS looks nice and quiet in your pictures. :goodvibes

Your last full day at Disney??? How did this happen??? Weren't you there for like ten days??? Shouldn't you only be halfway through the trip??? :lmao:

Chefs de France looks good. I would love to see Remy at some point.

I wonder what the film crews were doing...:confused3 Commercials, maybe?

Soar!!!! :lmao:

What a great looking lunch! Yum, yum. And Remy's so cute. I love his little squeaks too.
His squeaks are the cutest. I wish I could take him home and put him on my kitchen counter so he can squeak at me as I cook and do dishes. :rotfl:

HOw strange that the cheese plate in France was not as good as the others. I would think France would have lots of wonderful cheeses. :confused3

So sad for the last full day. :sad2:
We were so looking forward to the Les Chefs cheese plate and it really was sad looking!

Such pretty pictures of UK!
I think we had a cheese plate at dinner at Les Chefs in August that looked different than yours. Plus it was really good!
But you got to see Remy. He didn't come out at dinnertime. Glad I hadn't told the girls about him.
So we got the cheapo cheese plate? :lmao:

We ate some really great places, I can't wait to try some of them a second time in January!

The flatbread was super yummy. In fact, all the Disney flatbreads I have tried have been excellent!

At this point of the trip, I'll be honest....I was ready to come home.

I kept looking for Stacy to see if she was filming a new segment. :rotfl2:

Tuesday September 14, Part 2.

During our lunch at Les Chefs we couldn't deciede what else we wanted to do at Epcot. We had fastpasses for Soarin but we hadn't explored World Showcase at all.

I was getting overwhelmed with making the decision so Marc did. We would go see American Adventure, explore a little bit and then use Christine's private entrance to walk to the Beach Club and grab a taxi back to Riverside. I think Marc knew I was tired and cranky and needed a plan to keep moving forward.

I insisted we get another picture of Marc in a fez. We have this picture and the picture from 2008 framed side by side on our wall. Marc uses it for weight loss inspiration. The difference is amazing!

I was glad we took the time to see American Adventure. After it was over, Marc asked if I wanted to use the fast passes for Soarin. I declined the long trek back over to Future World but told him I would wait if he wanted to go ride. He decided to give our fastpasses away....to a couple who acted like we were trying to push drugs on them...highly amusing! :lmao:

We walked over to the Beach Club. It's a nice little walk but there was ZERO shade and it was hot!!

Before we knew it, we had a cool air conditioned taxi bringing us back to Riverside. We had a party to get ready for!

Coming up...
Fabulous 50's...?

Thanks so much for posting pictures of my happiest places... WS and Beach Club! :cloud9: Looks like it was a positively lovely day. I can never decide which is my favorite WS pavilion. I go back and forth between several.

I know what you mean about getting overwhelmed and then just wanting to "give up." For me that happens in AK. Not sure why, perhaps b/c I don't know the park very well and am still not sure where everything is. I can get to the safari and that's about it.

Congrats to both of you on your weight loss. It must be fun to look at pictures of yourselves in the same setting and see the difference all of your hard work has made! :thumbsup2

Mmm...love the Beach Club. Just seeing it speaks relaxation to me. Sounds like a nice little part of your day. Can't wait to see if we hit those fabulous 50's. :goodvibes

I totally forgot to mention what a great idea Remy for the kitchen is. Are the Disney marketeers listening? :lmao:

Haha - we are writing about the same day now. I had no idea you and Marc were at Epcot in the morning, because Jen and I were there too. We were probably eating at LeCellier while you were at Chefs.

Marc looks so handsome in that fedora! You both really look wonderful! Our DIS meet awaits. I have a few more pictures to post, but then it's on to the PAAAAA - TAAAAAAY!

I knew you would like this update with all the World Showcase and Beach Club pictures!

That used to happen to me in AK too! I have a better relationship with AK now though but there is just something about Epcot that makes me overloaded so easily. I think I still have flashbacks from my awful blister experiences there.

That is too funny that we were both at Epcot!

Tuesday September 14, Part 3.

Once we were back in our room at Riverside, I had a decision to make. To dress up for MNSSHP or just skip it?

Marc was crabby about his bowling shirt, he thought he looked silly in it. I wasn't really feeling putting my poodle skirt on. I just didn't want to worry about being comfortable or not. I hemmed and I hawed, I didn't want to disappoint my loyal DIS readers but in the end I decided to skip the dressing up part. I was on vacation after all, I was supposed to be relaxing not stressing out.

We left our room around 4ish I believe. We had a bit of a wait until a bus came around.

Once we got to MK, Marc wanted to ride Space Mountain again. I waited in the Space Mountain gift shop....and waited and waited. There had only been a 10 minute wait posted but I waited probably close to 30 minutes. Apparently the ride had shutdown for a bit.

DSC00970.jpg

After Space Mountain we headed towards Pirates.

Marc took these pictures...without the flash of course!

After the ride I modeled some head wear.

We moseyed over to Frontierland and I think Marc may have gone on Splash Mountain or done something. What I don't remember. I was taking pictures by myself. I also had a few CMs ask to see my bracelet because it was time for the day guests to clear out and only party guests remaining. I also completed a few pin trades.

Marc met back up with me and we headed to Liberty Square.

I love the ghost lady that they have at MNSSHP, she is a great addition!

Marc attempted to take a picture of our hitchhiking ghost.

More Halloween headwear. I almost bought this!

The line to meet the dwarves was way too long but I snuck a picture in between people.

It was at about this point that I had been exchanging texts with MEK in order to meet up with her and her travel buddy, Jen. MEK was heading back to MK and Jen was heading towards Fantasyland to meet up with Marc & I. MEK had told her to look for my poodle skirt but I wasn't wearing that and had to fess up to MEK.

Finally we met up and it was so wonderful to meet MEK after talking on the DIS for the last few years!

After chatting for a few, we decided to do a ride together....BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN!

There was no line, we walked right on and we sat...IN THE FRONT! MEK and Jen assured me along with a few CMs that the front is actually more mild on BTMRR. I trusted them.

We had a fun ride, I think there were very few people in our car if any. It's so much fun riding BTMRR at night.

So much fun in fact that we rode twice in a row. I think it was twice...the CMs told us as long as no one was waiting for our seats then we could keep riding. MEK, did we ride twice or three times?

After BTMRR, MEK, Jen & Marc talked me into going on Splash Mountain again. No wait again. Gotta love those special events at MK! I did not sit in the front but allowed Jen & MEK to take the honors.

I have to tell you, I have never ever gotten as soaked on a ride as I did this night. The first splash and I was soaked. In fact, I think I was the victim of the most water.

Our ride picture! Check out MEK's glowing glasses!
DSC01013.jpg

I was dripping wet when we got off the ride. At this point, it was almost time for Hallowishes. Jen & MEK split off from us to get some food from Pecos Bill's, I said I would try to save them a space and we could meet back up for Hallowishes.

Marc & I headed to the Castle hub and it was PACKED. So we hunted around and finally settled on watching the fireworks from where they have the Wishes Dessert parties. We snagged a table and waited. I think Marc had bought a turkey leg on the way, which just grossed me out but to each his own. Marc offered to go get me corn dog nuggets from Casey's but I was afraid he wouldn't make it back in time.

MEK & I texted a few times and she made it to our table just as the fireworks were starting. She had lost Jen on the way so she watched the fireworks from a different spot.

They were just gorgeous! These are my favorite fireworks so far at Disney.

After the fireworks, Jen found us again and MEK & I took pictures. I am sure MEK's came out much better. Please pardon my bangs, they were victim to Splash Moutain.

After pictures we headed to Tomorrowland for a nighttime spin on the Peoplemover and of course a slushie coke! We parted ways, it was a great meet. Marc & I had so much fun meeting you MEK & Jen! Even though we hadn't seen Boo to You yet, we decided to head back to Riverside. We were tired. I debated stopping to get corn dog nuggets but thought we'd get back in plenty of time to hit the food court.

Not so much. We had the slowest bus driver EVER who stopped at all of the other bus stops before heading to the main building. I was NOT happy! All the hot food was off, I don't remember what we ended up grabbing for dinner but it wasn't great.

Wednesday September 15 - Departure Day!

Even though it was our last day, we had plans that Marc had arranged a few days earlier.

What do you think it was?

Nope, not a park visit.

No, not parasailing.

Not even a lunch ADR.

Marc had scheduled us for a DVC tour!

I will admit, I was cranky about this tour. I knew we couldn't afford it at this time and didn't want to get my hopes up but being the good wife I am, I went along with it.

We packed up our room, forgot to leave mousekeeping a final tip which I'm still upset about and checked our luggage at bell services for Magical Express.

Before I knew it, we were in a DVC van making our way to Saratoga Springs. I'm sorry to report I have ZERO pictures from this day.

We met our DVC guide, who I don't remember his name but I have it written down at home. He was very nice, explained everything but I could have done the presentation myself. I knew just about everything. The presentation was more for Marc. The DVC dude even remarked a few times that I was more than qualified to do his job.

Then we did the tour of the rooms and to be honest, I love the Bay Lake Tower rooms the most. I can totally see myself staying there.

Then came the number crunching....aka the time where Leslie has the heart attack. DVC dude did his sales pitch, gave us time to think and then left us alone. I told Marc there was no way we could afford that price right now. Then DVC dude came back and offered us the 100 point deal...I perked up. We could afford that.

Hmmmm.

I was a responsible adult and said we had to think about it. He gave us until Saturday to call and seal the deal and still get this pricing and the incentives he was offering.

We had a lot to think about.

We skipped the free ice cream and headed back to Riverside. We had a nice lunch, read some magazines and books in the food court and before too long it was time to catch Magical Express. We even were allowed to get on an earlier bus since we were ready and waiting.

We checked out some fo the shops at the airport since we were so early and I bought the second book in the The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo (very good by the way) and found our gate.

Our flight was uneventful but one exciting thing was there was a seeing eye dog on the plane! A beautiful german shepard who was so well behaved on the flight! I also had a nice chat with a man on the plane about the The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and before too long we touched down in Manchester and were on our way home.

Coming up...
DVC Decision
& Trip Report Wrap Up.

OMG holy DVC cliffhanger batman! I think their minimum used to be 160 pts or more so good to know that they are being more flexible. Can't wait to hear what you decided.

I am not a MNSSHP costume-wearer either. Plenty of fun to be had w/o a costume as you proved. I rode Thunder Mtn for the first time at night this past trip... so cool!!

So glad you were able to have your DIS meet! :goodvibes

Turkey legs... totally agree with you... I saw on someone's TR that there is a t-shirt w/ a turkey leg on it. :scared:

Not sure I've mentioned it but love the panoramic shots you've been including with the "regular" photos!

I love all of your Epcot photos!
The Beach Club is just so beautiful.
Thank you! It really is beautiful.

Yes, I decided that I needed to go out with a big ol' cliff hanger! :lmao:

Part of me wishes I had worn the costume, there seemed to be a lot more people dressed up at this party but oh well. I stand by my decision.

I love the panoramic photos, I need to find a few of those panoramic photo frames so I can hang a few of them on my living room walls.

Oh, no, you did not leave us hanging with the DVC cliffhanger! I will be a mass of emotions if you have been holding out on us for the past three months!!!

Okay, back to your last night and the MNSSHP! I don't really blame you for opting to forego the costumes. I am always concerned about being comfortable in the parks.

I was going to say you totally needed to buy the Mickey Pumpkin Ears until I saw the picture of the witch's hat! That's what you needed!

The ghost lady at the Haunted Mansion is so neat! I want to play that role! :lmao:

How fun that you were able to meet up with Mary Ellen and Jen at the party! Hurray for riding Big Thunder twice and Splash Mountain. Too bad you were drenched. :sad2:

Hallowishes is so wonderful! :cloud9:

Wouldn't it be a great idea? He could teach little ones to cook!

On the Disney Cruise they have Ratatouille's cooking class in the kids' clubs! I think they make chocolate chip cookies.

LOVE all the great pictures from MNSSHP! I ordered a headband on line this year with Mickey (Minnie?) ears and a candy corn on top (like the peak of a witch's hat) and dangly candy corn earrings. I wore that around on Halloween and to my kids' school party.

Sorry you got so wet on Splash! I was going to say how cute your hair was - before that happened!
I bet it was great to meet Mary Ellen and Jen!!

OOH a DVC cliffhanger? You're killing me!

If I don't get back here tomorrow -

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :santa:

Hey LL! I managed to finally get caught up with your TR. Looks like a fun last few days. Loved the pictures from DHS and Chefs de France especially (that picture of Remy is super-cute!). Everyone in my family who has tried the flatbreads at France has just raved about them, so I'm seriously considering trying them instead of my usual favorites next time I'm there.
