We Have the Best Neighbors!!!

Next week both of my parents and me will be out of town. So we have been frantically trying to make arrangements to have the yard and the dog everything taken care of before we leave. We had decided to board the dog, instead of asking our neighbors who had looked after him before. Four days just seemed like too long to ask. However we did want to ask their 10 YO son to water our yard. We figured his parents would appreciate him having the responsibility and that he would appreciate getting paid.

Well I just got back from ther house and no sooner do I mention that we're leaving does the mom ask who is taking care of the dog. When I told her we were going to board him she insisted on keeping our dog, in addition to having her son do our watering. What a weight off my mind. They have a golden retriever who my dog just adores. It will be like doggie summer camp for him! In fact when I got home he could smell the other dog on me and he went nuts!

I need to think of some gift of appreciation for the family. They are just the nicest people! I would appreciate any suggestions!

Arrange something to be sent while you're away; maybe a basket of food, fruit, a movie for the son, something like that. It shows you thought about it before you left, and apprecieate them while you are gone.
