We have opened our piggy banks....

Around Christmas time last year both Brian and me bought a piggy bank to start and save some money for our next DLRP trip using the coins you usually find in pockets, trousers, bags etc.
Well as it is VERY close now (we fly from Pisa next Wednesday morning ) we have opened them and the result is............

350 euros in my piggy bank

550 in Brian's

Well done to Brian as he is the winner and good for us as we have 900 euros to spend in DLRP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i will start a new Piggy Bank saving soon, the secret for this trip has been: save 50 euros a month for paying the trip and then saving coins for shopping i just love the name *shopping* LOL

Congtatulations !!!!! Isnt' it great to have all that extra money ! I have not heard from you for a while...but I was aware of your future trip. You will have a wonderful time !!! We opened our piggy bank in June and had € 500 which I exchanged into US $ and got $800. Now are are almost ready to open the other one for our trip this December !!!

We have a Terramundi pot that we started filling in May with £1 and £2 coins. We plan to open it the week before Christmas and have no idea how much is in there. It is not full but hopefully there will be a couple of hundred pounds in towards our spending money .

We did the same for £2 coins started in april did take £100 out to go towards our deposit for Florida but have just counted it and we had £490 which is to pay the rest of our DLRP trip( £156left) and the rest will be our spending money and add some more to it .

You can - get a sealed pot and you can't get into it unless you smash it open.

Just stick money in whenever you can and it does mount up.

Yes,the sealed pot is the only way to do it otherwhile you would be tempted to get some money when you want them LOL
