Just heard,

Fred Rogers America's beloved Mister Rogers died in Pittsburgh of stomach cancer at the age of 74.

From 1968 to 2000, Mister Rogers, an ordained Presbyterian minister, produced the show at Pittsburgh public television station WQED.
He was one of the very best.

Thanks Mister Rogers, for making a wonderful neighborhood for everyone and their future generations to visit and enjoy.

:(

Rest In Peace Fred.

Wow....such a loss...I 'grew up' with Mr. Rogers and Capt. Kangaroo too.....can you imagine how many young lives he touched and influenced in his life?!!

So sorry to hear this. His wonderful Neighborhood will "live on" for many years to come.

:( :(

My brother and kids grew up with him.... :(

That's a shame.

He will certainly be missed...:(

I am so sad. King Friday the XIII, Queen Sara, Lady Elaine Fairchild, Henrietta Pussycat, X the Owl, Daniel Tiger.... rest in peace.:(

In 1991, I helped my then 5 year old son write a letter to Mister Rogers asking for a picture. Much to my son's delight, along with the picture was a letter from Mister Rogers. It was typewritten, but truly did not seem like a "form letter". We believe Mister Rogers probably signed it himself. It made me teary just to take the letter from my son's scrapbook and read it again this morning.

Mister Rogers stood for all that should be - how we should treat each other, respect each other and of course, respect ourselves. I've often thought that if more people could take the "Mister Rogers" approach to life, what a better world we could live in.

God Bless You, Mister Rogers.

I loved him growing up. My children loved him.

What a sad day in the neighborhood. :(

Rest in Peace, Mr. Rogers. We love you.

I LOVED Mr. Rogers!!

:(

I even had a postcard picture of Mr. Rogers hanging on my dorm room door for a while in college. My mother sent it to me as a little joke (but I still loved him!)

I'm so sad.

CRB#33 you took the words right out of my mouth.

What a sad day in the neighborhood. :(

Mr. Rogers will be missed but thankfully his legacy will live on.

My Daughter cried this morning when she heard, she came out of her room after seeing it on TV and told me, she loves Mr. Rogers . She still watches the re-runs.
RIP Mr Rogers.

A very sad day in the neighborhood. I guess I really did not know what an impact he had on my life... I'm 26. :(
