We Have Entered the ROFR Purgatory

Thank you!!! Looks like the average is about 2+ weeks right now. Hurry up and wait!

Good luck! After ROFR, then it continues hurry up and wait, repeat.

I'm still not exactly clear on the whole process. But from what I've read it's ROFR, Estoppel, Closing, then wait for points? And I can check some sort of comptroller thing to see when Disney has received or accepted us as owners. (Comptroller may not be the right word...)

That is correct. You should be contacted once it has passed ROFR, you may or may not be notified after passing each following step. That's the big hurdle where you can potentially lose the contract. If it passes there, the only hurdle is if the owner changes their mind (which is rare). Once you have signed the closing documents, you can check http://or.occompt.com/recorder/eagleweb/docSearch.jsp to see when the title has been recorded. For us, it was about 2 week before our points showed up.

THANK YOU!!!! Your response is very helpful!!!! :)

Us too. 160 points to AKV $109 a point august use year!! I hope we both pass. We were submitted to Disney Wednesday

I saw your other post!!!! Good luck!!!!! They submitted ours to Disney today. Not so patiently waiting! lol. I hope you find out good news soon!

I am so glad I have someone going through through this with me! I am not patiently waiting either. Was your contract loaded? We have 273 points for 2017 and 160 coming in 2018.

No. The 2017 points have already been banked for 2018. In February we will have 282 from the banked 2017 and the 160 we will get when the use year comes up. Son hopefully we'll be planning something for next year! It's so exciting but not because you just don't know what's going to happen.

You can borrow your 2018 use year points (160) for use in 2017 if you find availability. Who is your broker? Timeshare Store provided status throughout the process. DVC Resale Market communications were also good, but provided no updates after handing off to the closing company.

Hi Tom, this issue about borrowing from 2018 is that by the time we close (estimating mid October) I doubt we'd be able to find much of any availability for the remainder for 2017.

We are using the Timeshare Store and have been very pleased with them so far!

Sooooo apparently I was wrong. We are waiting on sellers signed docs so we haven't even started ROFR yet!!!! Wait wait wait lol.

I feel your pain. I had a seller who delayed signing the initial sale agreement for 5 days. My wife, a commercial contracts attorney, couldn't understand why the person couldn't sign 10 minutes after getting the contract through Docusign. Once we saw her signed agreement, we realized that she had printed it, signed it, and then mailed it (yes, USPS) to the broker.

Archaic!!!! Apparently this sellers wife is traveling so we are waiting on that. They said today, so hopefully it will go to Disney by this afternoon. We started the process on Friday!
