This is getting ridiculous, something needs to be done.
I think we're still at $4.09/gallon here on Long Island (if it hasn't gone up yet).

The dollar has been much weaker quite a few years ago for quite a while. I do some gaming with a UK/Euro based game and way back between 2005-2007, the US dollar was less than 0.50 GBP and Euro. Today it is 0.67 euro and 0.60 GBP. It has been this since the "big crash" so I don't believe the "it's because of the weak dollar right now" stuff. The US dollar is stronger now than back when we had less than or near $2/gallon gas.I've read numerous reports that the cause is the weak dollar right now and barrels are priced worldwide using the US dollar. Doesn't seem like any quick fix is coming.
I doubt it's still $4.09 anywhere on LI! Be prepared for the shock next time you need gas! It went from $4.09, then $4.17 the next day. AND it's $4.27 for regular if you use a credit card at my BP station. I never took notice of a price difference before.

Believe it or not, it's still $4.09 as of yesterday (I'm in Suffolk County). This morning I passed a BP and it was $4.07.
I have a 1/2 a tank right now, so I'm good for another few days. But watch, right when I need to fill up is when the price will increase![]()
