We Had Two Magical Moments!!! Trip Report Coming Soon!!!!

In the Dis Meets boards, there's a "Late December Dis Meet" thread. The people on it are pretty much there for the same days we are. I noticed that some of them have ADR's at MK on Christmas morning. I'm suggesting that we meet before rope drop b/c that's an EMH morning. It would be so nice to meet everyone!!

Here's the thread link:

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1850332

Thanks. I might have to check that out! I might have to convince to DH that it would be a cool thing to do.

I just called hubby to find out the name of the motel we stayed at the night before we checked into Disney back in August of '06. I figured if we got to FL too early, we can check into a cheap place and then drive to our Disney resort, just like we did last time. Well, he tells me, "how much is it to upgrade for the room and dining for another night" and I say, it's 327, so said, go ahead and get the extra day!!!!!

So, before I call and add the extra day, should I put it at the end or the beginning of the trip? MK has EMH at night on the 26th and it would be nice to go back to the room afterwards.

Please help!!!

How cool!!! :yay: An extra day. Add it to the end of the trip. Like you said, you can enjoy EMH at the MK and rest. Either way though, you'll get extra time at WDW!!! It's hard to go wrong, right? Let us know what you decide.

I decided to put the extra night on the front end of the trip. I checked wdw.com and saw that MK has PM EMH on the 21st!

I'm so, so, so, so excited I dont' know what to do with myself.

It's so boring here at work and there's literally nothing to do until 1 (I get quotes at that time). I've asked my boss for work and she has nothing, I've filed everything, cleaned up my desk and now I'm straight Dis'ing!!:surfweb:

Very cool!!! I would be excited too, if I found out we got an extra day and there were MK EMH, too. Bonus!

You poor thing. . .nothing to do but Dis surfing? :thumbsup2 Now, that's a great job!

Hey girl!!!
Your Christmas trip sounds FANTASTIC!!! You scored some pretty coveted ADR's!!! How AWESOME!!

I am SO insanely jealous!!!

Did y'all consider doing Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? I've head it's pretty neat-o!!!

You MUST write a TR!!!

I'm sorry about your dad. It's so special that y'all got to go to Disney together...and see the Castle done up all crazy like CAKE!!! That is hilarious!!!

My husband and I had drinks and a snack at Rose & Crown. We LOVED the food. It was SO good and we were sorry we hadn't had ADR's there!! I think y'all will love it...on that same trip we had eaten at Le Cellier and we were NOT overly impressed. It's a VERY crowded restaurant even on non crowded days. The layout is such that it feels like you are sitting at tables with people you don't know. I do NOT like places like that AT ALL...I am talking MAYBE three inches from another table. Me no likey.

I'm SO excited for you!!!

You and your family are just DARLING by the way!!!! Your kids are just scrumptious little cuties. I don't know how y'all get after them when they are being naughty...too cute!!!!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thank you, your children are DARLING also!! I love that word...too cute.

We can't do the MVMCP b/c we get there on the 21st and the last party is on the 19th. However, I did read somewhere that starting on the 21st or 22nd, the parade that's shown during the MVMCP replaces the regular one in the park. I'm hoping thats true.

As for Rose & Crown, I'm glad to hear the food is good. I didn't doubt it, but I was upset b/c I didn't think it would be as good as Le Cellier. Hubby loves a good steak!

Thanks for my Dad. I'm happy that we put our differences aside and went as a family. Three years later he became worse and I was 5 months pregnant when he passed. I miss him but DD (Bobbi) is my reminder. She has his attitude and his nickname.

Oh and, I will definitely follow this up with a TR!! I'm so excited but DH is telling me to stop counting down the days!!!

Well, off to sleep for 2 hours. Had to drive DH to the train station at 3:30 this morning and I had to Dis for a while to get sleepy. Yesterday I picked him up at a different station and he was too tired to get his car.

I should have plans for my extra day by the end of today!!

Okay, here's the deal. I added the extra day at the front of our trip and here's what I have so far:

Friday - 12/19 - Hubby works the early AM shift, so we'll be able to come home from work, take a nap, and start driving around 10 PM. I think I'm becoming a bit manic about this whole thing b/c I'm trying to figure out an hour-by-hour driving plan to see where we'll need a hotel. In 2006, we drove out on Thursday night and stopped Friday night in Hardeeville, SC, but this year it's too far and we check in on a Sunday, so I think we'll have to rest roadside and drive through. 18.5 hours of stinky, tired people in a car with 2 very yappy Mini Schnauzers, fun, fun, fun!!!

Saturday - 12/20 - Still Driving. Hopefully I see some Krispy Kremes with the Hot Donuts sign on. That would make me soooo happy!!! Any Southerners know where I can find a Krispy Kreme along the I-95? Hopefully we'll arrive on International Drive sometime at night. If that's the case, we can grab a cheap motel and just sleep until morning.

Sunday - 12/21 - Wake up around 5 or 6, take showers, get dressed and head to the Caribbean Beach Resort to check-in. We are taking the dogs to the Epcot Kennel for the week, so we have to keep them with us until they open (1 hour before Epcot opens). We'll probably just grab some breakfast after checking in, say goodbye to our furbabies at the kennel and head off! My plan is to go to Hollywood Studios first and get there by at least 11:00 AM, check out the HSM Pep Rally, Indiana Jones, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania & Rock & Roller Coaster. This will be the 1st time I've riden the RRC as well as the kiddies. They weren't tall enough 2 years ago and I'm so excited!!!

After HS, I want to head back to the resort, take a nap, and start heading to
the Magic Kingdom around 7:00 PM. I have to make sure we can grab EMH bracelets and I want to eat a quick counter service meal. I think my plan for that night is to go on Space Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise (I heard it's fun in the dark), see Wishes, SpectroMagic (I missed all fireworks and parades last time!!) and see what else we can get on because I PLAN to be there until 2 AM!!!

Monday - 12/22
- Sleep until at least 9AM! Eat breakfast in the room (I plan on buying the cereal that comes in the individual plastic bowls, milk, pop tarts and juice to keep in the fridge). I want to head to Downtown Disney and do some shopping! Michael's big thing nowadays is Lego so I KNOW he wants to do that. I showed hin the store online the other day and he got so excited and said he DEFINITELY wanted to go there. Hopefully they have some Indiana Jones Lego sets to get him on the sly for Christmas. I want to visit the Christmas Shop and buy our yearly ornament for the tree. BTW, I think I'll buy a 2 footer and put it in our room for the holidays! I know Bobbi will want to look for some Princess-ey things at World of Disney and DH and I love the Pooh characters! And who can pas up Mickey's Mart?? Great place to find inexpensive souvenirs. Hopefully we can go to Earl of Sandwich for lunch. I loved the All American last time and the kids love grilled PB&J!!

After shopping, I want to head to the Wilderness Lodge. I made an ADR at 5:05 PM for the Whispering Canyone Cafe. Anyone have any tips on how to get the servers into character for the kids? I think I might have that skillet for dinner. I love BBQ!!!!!!!!

After dinner, I want to find a good spot to watch the Electrical Water Pageant. Any suggestions??

Okay, that's all I have for now. Detailed PTR for 12/23 - 12/26 coming soon!

Please leave any comments or suggestions and tell me what you think!!

You can just go down to the WL water launch docks and you can see it all from there.

Thanks! Do you know what time it usually comes by? I want to see if we'll have time to fit in a sleigh ride between the Pageant and dinner.:yay:

These are the (subject to change) times:
9:35 PM – Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
9:45 PM – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

So I would have dinner, then figure out how to get to Fort Wilderness. Apparently there is a short walking trail you can take to get there (I've never done it myself and I don't know how well lit it is at night). Just ask the doorman, he'll help you. Then have your carriage ride and see the pageant from the Fort Wlderness beach instead! Lots of time.

Sounds like you have a good plan, so far. I can't wait to read more. Now, we're considering leaving the night before to give ourselves more time on our first day at WDW. So, while we wouldn't get an entire extra day, we would add an entire morning. That's so cool that you guys were able to add a day. Also, you can never be too manic over WDW trip planning. There's no such thing! :rotfl:

Okay, not sure if I mentioned this before, but I want my beautiful DS to wear the winter Belle dress to CRT on Christmas Day. I know it's CINDERELLA'S Royal Table, but EVERY little girl goes dressed as Cindy. I want my DS to be different!

If found some pics on the internet and my pretty Mommy said she'd make the dress for her granddaughter (I love my Mommy! Yes dammit, she's still Mommy to me).

Here are the pics:

The cartoon..

This woman actually made it!!

annnnnnndddd...I'm hoping maybe Mommy Dearest will make her an Alice dress for our ADR @ 1900PF

What do you think??

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I put DS and I meant DD!!! I bet all of you were picturing a little boy dressed up as Belle:rotfl:

How funny that you made that mistake! :lmao: I'm glad you're going to get your DD dressed up as princesses rather than your DS. I'm sure she would appreciate it more! :rotfl2:

The idea for a Belle costume for CRT sounds great. I have always seen a variety of princess dresses on the girls eating there. Though it is Cinderella's show, so to speak, there are other princesses there, so it's not a big deal. That would be great if she was Alice for 1900. Have you ever done that meal before? You're in for a surpise, if you haven't, and if your DD is dressed as Alice, you may end up with even more fun than you anticipated. The Mad Hatter is quite a character during breakfast. We're going back this year to 1900 for breakfast and dinner, primarily for the great fun and entertainment of the characters there. You'll have a blast. :thumbsup2

Does your daughter know about the princess dress and possible Alice outfit?

She has no idea, but I'm sure she'll have to find out when it comes to fittings! Or maybe we can blindfold her!!;)

OK - let me picture this: 18 1/2 hours in a car with 2 kids (one of whom will get car sick - at least once ...), two yapping dogs (each of whom will get car sick at least twice ...), and a man who carries a loaded gun for a living ... :rotfl: Make sure you take before, during, and after pictures!! :lmao: [... and remember: be VERY nice to the DH - no jury will convict him ... :rotfl2: ]

On a practical note, I usually average about 50 miles an hour (including breaks) when driving - pre-Christmas blizzads notwithstanding ... :santa:

You will have the kids with you, right?!? - should we start a pool on how late you will actually make it at the MK?

All day shopping - even if it's DTD: your DH must REALLY love you!! :)

Looks pretty good so far - but I suspect the drive may take more out of you than you think. So be mentally prepared to maybe take it a little easier that 1st Sunday (I can see it now - your planned "nap" will turn into a 4-5 hour, drool-on-the-pillow, almost coma ... which, on the bright side, will get you well-rested for Monday ...)

Okay, that's all I have for now. Detailed PTR for 12/23 - 12/26 coming soon!

That's it for now ...

Ok, we may have a new break in store. Since we're leaving on Friday the 19th of December, we have our friends going to visit their mom in Loris, SC at the same time. We're going to start driving with them on the 19th at night, get there on the 20th in the morning (she says it's a straight drive with everyone sleeping in the cars), spend the day resting, then start the 8.5 hour drive from Loris, SC to Disney around 8 PM on the 20th. We should arrive around 4 or 5 AM, rest in the car then check in. Hmmm, we'll see how it goes!!

OK - let me picture this: 18 1/2 hours in a car with 2 kids (one of whom will get car sick - at least once ...), two yapping dogs (each of whom will get car sick at least twice ...), and a man who carries a loaded gun for a living ...  He doesn't carry it out of state. He needs an off-duty for that...

I just called Disney to apply the new code to my package and I am now saving $357.62!!! The trip is cheaper than when I was only staying 4 nights!!!!

I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited!!!

Whoot Whoot!!!
