What is wrong with this board? Trying to post a trip review of Poly and POFQ but it won't show up on the screen!

I am going to try this way... I really want to post my trip review.. so I hope this helps!!!

It was a WONDERFUL and MAGICAL trip!! I LOVE the Polynesian resort! And I love the French Quarters too!! Polynesian is truly a Paradise!! And the French Quarter is just... Perfectly Pretty and Peaceful  ... and you will see why when you see those pixs I will share with you!

Please check page 2 for POFQ review and pixs... I am going to add more pix of Poly and POFQ when time permits.

Polynesian... Paradise!
We checked in August 2 at the Poly and come to my surprise... I got Tokelau #3915!!! It has the best view of the castle!! And it is garden view!! I requested this room because someone here from the DIS said it has a great view and he is right! Sorry... I can't remember his name.

The customer service was great. They were friendly and they were smiling! :) Most of the staff greeted us with "Aloha." The lady put the lei on me and said Aloha and handed me the children's leis.

The room wasn't ready so we went to Captain Cook's for lunch and then we rented a surrey bike. We enjoyed biking around the ground. After biking, we checked to see if our room was ready and it was.

So, we head to our room... and the first thing I did was...BAM!! "WOW... CINDERELLA CASTLE!!" ... I went to the balcony and that's what I saw! Cinderella Castle and the Space Mountain and the CR and the TTC boat!! And we can see the beach of course. We had the corner room. It was the best view of the castle from the garden view room!

After two days... well... the walk to our room got old... I mean it was a hike for me and the children. So hmmmm... should I ask to be moved near the GCH or just stay put and just deal with the long walk. Well... we decided to stick with this room and have the view of the Castle and see the fireworks every night from our room!!!

The children and I went down the slide... AAaaaahhhhh.... It was AWESOME!!! It was soooo COOOOL!! Let me say it again.... It was sooooo COOOOL!!! I love it I love it I love it!! We also did the quiet pool. We enjoyed that as well.

On our first night, we decided to watch the "Wishes" from the pool. It was just beautiful! I didn't see tons of folks on the beach. As a matter of fact, the pool wasn't even crowded. I guess most of the guests were out and about.

We ate dinner at Kona Cafe. The food here is excellent. When we came here in June, I had steak... excellent excellent. Then on this trip, I had scallops and shrimp... again excellent excellent. The service was just wonderful.

I didn't do Ohana this time. I already done it twice. Once was in June and the other was in July. If I went again this time, Lady Lipoa might think I work there!

We did the Spirit of Aloha! It was great!! It was AWESOME!! The food was excellent and the service was excellent and the hula dancers were great and I love the guys do their hula too!! The guys were AWESOME!! I especially like the guy who was twirling the sticks of fire!

Remember my thread about hammocks. Well... most of the time, the hammocks were empty. The kids and I were able to enjoy swinging on the hammocks. It was so relaxing and peaceful.

We had enough time to check out the Neverland Club. We went there at noon. The children had a nice time. My son mostly played at the arcade in the ship while my daughter did some arts and crafts. She made a couple of mask and an indian hat and a couple of fans. I also did some arts and crafts. It was fun.

I love sunsets... I once had a screen name addy and it was Islander Sunset. I love that name. Anyways... I was able to take a few pictures of the sunset. Just gorgeous... This made me even fall in love with Polynesian. This place is truly beautiful... it is exotic!

Here are some pixs taken at the Polynesian:

I think there's something wrong with the whole board Fantasia. Half my smilies list is gone and I'm getting a "X" where some images should be. Anybody else having a problem?

Yup, they are up and look great! Looks like you had a great time! I'll be at the Poly 9/4 to 14. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome pictures! That sunset looks like a painting.....just beautiful! :sunny:
Love the hammock pictures! :cheer2: I don't think you can get a nicer garden view than that one. Wow! Glad you had another magical vacation. :goodvibes

Your sunset photos are amazing! So glad you guys had another fabulous trip.

Now, what about POFQ????

Telly,

What great pics! We love POFQ and the Poly also-they're our 2 favorite resorts. Looking at your pictures is getting us all in the mood for our trip next month-almost like an appetizer!

How's the construction at the Poly going? Since you went to Captain Cook's, and I hear that's undergoing a rehab too, did that seem to bother you? We have a few quick meals planned there.

One of the best things I remember from the Poly were definitely the sunsets-you are so right. The other thing we really enjoyed from across the lagoon are the sounds of MK-when you could hear the train or the faint sound of Haunted Mansion.

When my DH and I went in 2003, we had the room 2 floors down from you-1915 and I felt like we hit the lottery with that room--glad you got to enjoy the view as well!

Take care and start planning that next trip!

Amy

I always enjoy reading your posts and seeing your beautiful pics!

I am so looking forward to staying at the Poly again in April . . .

I'm glad you had another wonderful vacation!

When's your next trip? Just me and DH are going for our 18th Anniversary in October . . .I can hardly wait!

Glad you had such a great trip, Fantasia.

I had told you a while back about rm 3915 in tokelau ... glad you got it, isn't it a great view?? Such a bonus to see the castle from a garden view room ... and it's amazing you got the room you requested in the summer. You must have some disney luck.

Welcome back ... and your pictures look terrific - love the kids in the pool and neverland club ... that's what it's all about!!

Thanks guys! Glad you guys enjoyed my pixs! Thanks alohaguy for sharing that room #. So it was you who had that room! I would have never thought I would get the same room you got. I was just surprise when they said Tokelau and said it is room #3915. Now I know it never hurts to ask the room you want. Of course I keep in mind that it is only a request. The only thing about this room is that it is far from the monorail and kind of far from the boat dock. If they would give me this room again, I will take it in a heart beat!

Amy, there is no construction going on at Captain Cook's or around it. Nui was getting a little touch up it seems like from the outside.

Rapa Nui's new room is still not available, they said possibly next month. The refurbishing is in the insdie so, it will not affect your view.

eclectics, enjoy your stay!

Telly-What a magical trip! I can see why you fell in love with the Poly! WOW! Loved the pics, those sunsets were incredible! If you would have told me you were actually on a polynesian island, I would have believed you! Your sweet family looks adorable too! Someday I hope to stay there too...next trip is going to be Pop in Oct., then that's it for the year.

Seems like you all had a great time. The poly really is a lovely and relaxing place to be. I love those photos they are great. And that sunset is so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing!!!

Fantasia, glad you had such a wonderful time !! You and your children are beautiful !!!!! :sunny:

You and your family are just beautiful! Great pictures and thank you for sharing!

I thought I will be dissapointed to stay here afer staying at Polynesian... But nope!! I had fallen in love all over again with this resort!! It was a total shock coming from the "South Pacific" to the "Southern." Totally different atmosphere! I was WOWed again! It wasn't a let down coming from the deluxe to moderate. I'm glad I stayed at both resort. They are both truly and magicaly just beautiful in their own way!

We checked in August 6-9 2005. The front desk cm was very nice and friendly. She took her time to get the location I want. I got bldg #3 facing bldg #2. I think this is a great location! We were near the stairs which we like a lot. I like walking down the street towards the south side. I dont' know what it is about that street, but I like it!

The room was... ready!! The room was sparkling clean!! I mean super clean and bright!! I love it I love it I love it!! I like having the refrigerator in the room, I like to come home to a nice cold drink...juice and water! BTW... Polynesian did not have refrigerator so I had to ask for one. No charge.

What I love about this room is that they are very "detailed". The fixture lightings to their furnitures and their curtains and their bed post and the blanket. I just LOVE it!!

I love the pool! It is sooo festive and bright and colorful! And that's why I prefer POFQ to Riverside. The children loves to swim... they very much enjoyed the Poly and the POFQ pool.

Beniegts (sp?)... OH... those beniegts!! Can't get enough of them!! Even my children like them! The food court was never busy, there's always plenty of room to sit. One nice CM gave me 3 beniegts! He remembered us from earlier lunch. I told him that it was our last night and we're having a little snack, so he said it's complimentary and enjoy them! He also said because I was pretty! :cloud9: I told him he made my night and thanked him! He was sweet!

I love the boat ride to downtown disney! We rode it, got off, and turned around and rode it back to POFQ. My daughter said she was kind of tired, so I decided okay we won't do DD and just ride it back.

Everyone here was very friendly. I guess it really depends on what time of the year you go. We stayed here in June, July and August. In June, the customer service was not there. But comparing to my August trip, it is 100% better!! Same goes for Poly in June. No Aloha... no smile... no welcoming feeling. But on our August trip, it was different, everyone was friendly and smiling. I guess some crowds are gone. Most if not all the Florida students are back in school.

The bus transportation... excellent! The most wait was 15 minutes! Sometimes we go to Riverside and just pick up the South depot and sometimes we stop at all depots and sometimes they just pick us up and just head out to the park. The same way heading back from the park. It was great! Always had room to sit!

I notice that the folks here are hard working. I saw someone painting the irons and I saw someone picking up the twigs and whatever that doesn't belong on the ground near the courtyard. Everyone is doing something to keep the resort up.

The mouskeeper was great. Always kept our place very clean and gave us extra towels and shampoo/soaps.

Wonderful...wonderful stay!! I love POFQ!!!

Enjoy the pixs!!

The rehab at Captain Cook's has been delayed due to contractor problems.
