We Had a Great Time at the Fort

We checked in on Saturday, October 5, around 3 p.m. We set up camp and watched the TN vs. GA game & had sandwiches. We went to the campfire, then walked to the beach to watch the fireworks & EWP. We had breakfast on Monday at Trails End, watched the movie on Wednesday, ate at HDDR on Thursday night. DH & DD traded pins in the lobby a couple of nights. We ended up renting a golf cart & while it was handy, we had no problems with the buses when we used them. We could have done without the cart. There were lots of Halloween decorations at the campsites. We should have brought some of ours, but I didn't know they would decorate that early.

We only had one issue: we tried to use our KTTW on Sunday night at EPCOT to buy a water. They said we had reached our credit limit---we hadn't used it yet! I borrowed $5 from a friend & got the water. We went to the lobby that night & they said there wasn't a credit card attached. We had given the CM our cc# at check in. We gave it to them again & were told we were good to go. We tried to use it again at AK on Monday, & were told that we had reached our credit limit again---still hadn't used it. We had to use the balance on our gift card & use our cc to buy our lanyard & pins. We went back to the front desk---DH didn't even have to say a word. They knew something was wrong. They had attached the card, but hadn't put in the $1,000 credit limit. They fixed it, gave us fastpasses for us & our travelling companions, & gave us two smores kits. Those fastpasses came in handy on Friday when FPs were out & standby for Soarin' was at 70 minutes!

We had a great time & plan to try another resort in a couple of years. Many thanks to Bama Ed & everyone else who answered all of the questions I had. I put out my DIS sign, but never saw another one in the campground.

Glad to hear it was a great trip! Ugh on the room charge, but nice that they gave you a little something for your (repeated) troubles!

I'm glad you had a great trip to the Fort. It's probably the most relaxing resort on property to spend time on/in when you are not in the parks. It's sounds like you saw/did a lot there.

FWIW I NEVER tie a credit card to my KTTW card or Magic Band (in the future). I'm afraid I would spend too much money. (I know me and it's not good. )

I'm planning a trip in late March 2014 and will do a pre-TR beforehand and I hope you can share some latest/greatest Fort updates with me.

1) I am just the opposite.
2) Like carrying just one card in my pocket.
3) Am not worried about overspending.
4) MrsRustyScupper carries a Catholic School Ruler.
5) She and snaps my knuckles if I reach for the card too often.
