His name is Max. He's absolutely beautiful.

The shape of everything on him is labrador; his head, nose, muzzle, body, tail, and eyes (dark brown and very soulful)--all very lab-looking. The only thing non-lab about him are three white spots/streaks. (One white streak on his chest; a spot on his lower lip just above his chin; and a spot on one hind paw that covers half of two toes.)

So far, he is an angel dog. His behavior is excellent. Very calm except when he's playing. Loves to be petted and handled. A real sweetie, and well-conditioned already. (Hasn't even jumped on anybody yet.)

And the amazing thing of all--he is already doing very well with his potty training. He did his last two poops outside. (Good dog!!!) Last night, he held his bladder all night.

We are spoiling him to pieces. All of us (DH, DS, Max and me) have slept in our bed his first two nights.

He is at home now in his crate for the first time, and was pretty unhappy about being there when I left.

I'm going to run home at lunchtime to feed him, walk him, and play with him. Then, it's back to work for me and into the crate again for him until DH gets home.

Listen up, guys. I badly need to finish some work here. (Once my work is done, I can get back home to my baby doggie.) So I can't post much today or tomorrow. Sorry.

A very happy New Year to all of you. :D Take care.

Welcome little Max! He sounds like the perfect little doggy!

We let our Weim puppy sleep in our bed and guess what? 5 years later, he's still there! I don't mind though, he sleeps on top of the covers, on my side all the way down at the bottom curled up into a little ball.

Sounds like Max will make a great addition to your family!

Congratulations!!!
He sounds like a great puppy!
I can't wait to see pictures:D

Congrats Janice! That's great news.

In case you didn't know, you need to feed it more than a fish.:D

Congratulations (and LOL nuke)

Max sounds like such a cutie!!!! Congratulations Janice!!!

Always good to hear about a new member of the Furry DIS family!:D

JJ, Congratulations on the puppy! We're loving ours!

LOL@ Nuke! I still say that I can't keep a fish alive but I have had my dog for 15yrs! He's much easier than a fish if you ask me! :p

Enjoy him, JJ. They get big so fast!!!!

What a good boy, my Maxie is! He held his bladder (and "tootsie rolls") until I got home and took him out. He seemed fine in his crate when I got there, although he did cry again when I put him back in.

LOL also at Nuke!

This puppy hasn't skipped a meal yet. In fact, he seems to figured out that we get our food (cheese, in particular) from the refrigerator. Whenever he's in the kitchen, he appears to be trying to figure out how to break into it.

Other than a few bits of cheese (from my DH), we're feeding him strictly Eukanuba puppy chow for big breeds. When we go to our vet appointment Thursday, I'll be asking the vet what else (if anything) is O.K. to give him from time to time. He's such a good boy! He deserves treats. :D

Congrats on your new dawgie.
They DO get used to their crates. Our little dog started going into her crate whenever she needed comfort or security. We even found her just plain napping in her little box. We'd leave the door open all day for her so she got very used to being able to come and go as she pleased which I think helped her realize that the crate was her FRIEND. LOL

Oh and don't worry about guilt feelings from the fish. I had a small turtle when I was a child (I might have been 8 or 9). The turtle died and we didn't know it for WEEKS. Nobody thought any less of my mother because of it. :D

Nuke - doesn't it depend on the size of the fish?

Janice come see me and bring the dog. Actually you could just send the kid and the dog and that's all.

FYI - Sarah is feeding her new St. Bernard puppy apples and carrots for treats. Clarabelle loves carrots and they seem to soothe her when she is teething.

That's so true Marlasmom! If Janice had say a small beluga whale or something........but whales are mammals. Maybe a marlin or one of those 100 pound catfishes then the fish would eat more often. ;) :D

I am so happy for you JJ! He sounds adorable. But now you are really outnumbered, being the only female in the house. :D

A new baby {puppy} just as you "retire" how fun!

Can't wait to see pictures!

Nuke - you crack me up!

Congrats Janice!!!!

Nothing better then a new puppy!! :) :) :)
