We got our Sky + today

Sue,

As has been said the Sky+ planner reporting the wrong disk free % is quite a common problem. It is usually fixed by doing a planner rebuild. :)

You can do this yourself by pressing services,4,0,1,select on the remote, in that order, to bring up the 'hidden' engineering menu. From there you can select option 7 for a planner rebuild which should solve the problem. :)

Alan.

Thanks Alan and Deedee

I'll give that a go and hopefully correct the problem. :goodvibes

Thanks Once again

Sue

Oooh I've got a ? while we're talking about it. We would like to upgrade to Sky+ at the moment, but when they came to install it, did they need to go on the roof to the existing dish or were they able to fit from the ground? The reason i ask is that our dish is a bit higher than normal and when we had sky originally put in, we had to get an independant company to install it for us as Sky would not legally do it.

Anyway (waffle waffle) do they go on the roof or not :flower:

Claire xx

They do need to access your dish because they need to attach another cable to it, to feed the additional feed into the Sky+ box. I don't know whether they will do it or not, best ask them.

We wanted to upgrade to it, but there is no way i am paying £200 to have the box and extra for installation, so we have the plain old normal sky.

£200 is well worth the money in my book for what you get with Sky+. Once you get Sky+ there is no going back and you just don't know what you would do without it. In my household it is as essential a piece of equipment as the oven is. :)

Hi Lisa i have just double checked and they are doing sky+ and installation for £49 If you go on the sky web site it gives you all the details

we are having our sky+ installed on wednesday, only phones them last thursday, its £49 for box, and free installation as we are havingthe multi room for £10 per month, means they take our existing sky box from downstairs install it upstairs and we can watch different sky chanels on that to the ones downstairs :teeth: can't wait!

Ours has been out of action again. It has been a week without it and the Sky man is coming to put in a new box between 2 and 5 this afternoon.

It has been awful without it. I don't watch too TV much myself as I am either working, sleeping, on DIS or drinking or a combination of these!!!

But we like to watch The 4400s and Lost with our DD and they come on too late during the school week so we sky plus them and watch them all together when we have the time. So really looking forward to having it fixed.

Fingers crossed he will be here soon.

We paid £49 for the box with free installation. We then rang up to see how much it would be for FIL as a Christmas pressis and they told us as they are existing sky customers it would be £199 :guilty:

ooops forgot to tell you...

We bought ours in Currys and they didnt charge any extra but they did give us £50 in currys vouchers for buying sky plus through them.

Our vouchers arrived last week:)

Off for a spend this week!!!!!!!!!!

we are existing customer, but I got an offer in my wage packet this month saying we could get it for 49.00 through work, so thats what I did and its being installed friday

We have just had our 2 boxes fitted this morning for £98 including installation(he rang at seven thirty to say he would be with us in half an hour!!!) we have had sky+ for a year and have upgraded to higher memory boxes. He told us next April they are bringing out another sky+ with built in DVD.

I had been trying to hold out til the HDTV boxes were out but alas our poor old box wasn't going to last that long :(
Claire ;)

Got our 2 boxes yesterday, one in the living room and the other in the bedroom. Loving it so far, recorded a movie at 5.15am last night and watched it in bed this morning! We got the 2 boxes and multiroom offer cos it was so cheap but we ended up buying an LCD TV for the bedroom (20" from ASDA, £280 so pretty good really) and a chest of drawes to put it on. Turned out to be quite expensive!!

Got our two boxes today :teeth: on the special offer. The lounge one was ok to set up but they had to try two in the bedroom plus the first LNB blew!!!!

Claire ;)

had ours yesterday, absolutely fab, DH working last night so recorded the footie on sky+ and still watched what I wanted, worth every penny!
