Thank you ALL!!!
I am so excited. She's coming back in a few days and I'm going to have sole parental custody of her. Basically without going into too many intimate details, this divorce was causing both of us a fortune (me more so than him) and we each really wanted to move on with our lives.
Maddy is very unhappy with him. His fiance was telling me tonight that she says she doesn't have to listen to him, and won't listen to a word they say. She talks about me and my bf, her new bedroom, and her school all of the time. They realized that she's just much happier here with me.
Of course, a lot of other things were involved, but I won't go into those. Within the next week to 30 days, I will FINALLY officially be divorced. His lawyer wrote everything up and we have to appear in court for about 5 minutes.
I'm so excited, I cried for a bit tonight. This last year and a half has taken its toll on me. Maddy is such a sweet thing, and I can't wait for her to come back. Her biggest concern right now? If her butterfly costume is still in the closet, and she wants to make sure her hermit crabs don't play with her toys in the bathtub (I let them "run" in the tub during the day).
We don't want to spoil her when she comes over, but we wanted to make it special. We got a Halloween cake set and a "fun house" that we can make for the occassion. She knows she's going trick or treating at Mickey's Retreat in a few weeks, so we're going to tie that into a mini party for her.
The only thing running in my mind right now is that song, "We've Got Annie!"....but Maddy in place of Annie. Anyone ever see the movie Annie? One of my all time favorites. Everyone sing now!
She's like the shine on your shoes,
or hearing a blues that's great.
Makes you relax,
like a big tax rebate!
We got Maddy!
It's such a good feeling. Going into our room tonight, it really overwhelmed me to see all of her stuff. This fight is finally over. She's really coming home. It was all worth it for her.
My bf is hooking up the scanner, will add an updated pic tonight when he does.
