We got back 3 days ago. The groups were annoying!!

It's not a hispanic thing - It's a teenage in large groups thing.

Absolutely.

We just got back yesterday from staying at the ASMu and the Brazilians were everywhere. While we didn't get stuck behind them in the parks, we seemed to have a knack for hitting the food court at the same time and, I will say that while there were definitely some rude kids, the vast majority were very well behaved.

On the flip side, we had stayed at the ASSp last time and it was apparently tournament season for a number of sports groups from all over the US and they were by far the most rude and obnoxious people we've ever had to contend with. :scared1:

ETA: We had a great time on both trips anyway ;)

I appreciate the loud singing from the Brazilian tour groups!! You can hear them coming from 100 yards and can quickly either get into line before they arrive or head to the other side of the park. The singing's better than a hurricane warning!

BTW, my wife is Chilean and doesn't take people's complaints about the loud tour groups as a personal attack or an attack on Latinos in general. She dislikes the singing just as much!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: lol!!

Fantasia, that is a great picture of you and your kids! Is it a Photopass shot? It's amazing there are no people in background, especially since it was a busy time when you were there. I rarely get a shot like that even when it's not busy season. :sunny:

:rotfl2: Sorry... you just made me laugh! We did had a super duper time at Disney! :flower: It's just that the groups were annoying... and some rude family cutting in front of me! My trip was allllll gooooood!!

I forsee this thread turning into a debate. Gosh...please not another thread closed.
I forsee... IT BETTER NOT!!

WE ARE NOT DOING A DEBATE ON ANYTHING..NOT ON MY THREAD!! This is not about any race!! It's about some groups of teenagers being LOUD. PLEASE LET'S NOT MAKE THIS A DEBATE! THANKS!! :)

OH MY GOSH!!! It is empty! I just realize that!! This was taken well.. I think during morning EMH. It was my digital camera! Isn't it great?!!

We were there a couple weeks ago and kept running into them too..no matter how much we tried to avoid them!

My husband would always say "oh there go the wait times" when he saw a big group approaching

They were really loud when they were waiting for the late Spectro parade at MK..we could hear them from quite a ways away singing

We just returned today (7/24) from a week at WDW and was it ever crowded. There were more tour groups there than I had ever seen before, but I thought they were well behaved. I have seen bad behavior before and am usually a pretty harsh judge. There were some people with very bad behavior but, for the most part, it wasn't these groups this time.

One thing I did notice on three different nights in the MK was that these tour groups had entirely lined both sides of main street about two hours before Spectromagic. This wasn't poor behavior, they just seemed to be able to take over by their sheer number and their propensity to just lie around in the street when they want to take a break.

Telly~
Glad to hear you had a fun trip. Your new signature photo is BEAUTIFUL! In my experience, rude, obnoxious guests come in every nationality, age group, shape and size :rolleyes2 One just has to TRY and stay FOCUSED on the Magic ::yes::

Thanks Liz! Well on that day... I wasn't going to let anyone take the "Magic" away from me and my children. I don't know what kind of "dust" they got sprinkled.. but is sure wasn't "~*Pixie Dust*~"

During the wait for Fantastic, the Brazilian tour groups were really annoying with their constant yelling/ chanting/clapping and dancing. We started rating them like a figure skating competiton. Hmmm, a 5.7 for the blue group, a 5.8 for the orange and a 5.9 for the black.white, good techincal ability with good artistic interpretation. Seriously though, they were a major pain in the behind. :confused3

It's so lame! Why are they cheering anyways? What's behind all the noises they make? Is it cause they are proud that they are from another country? Well... I am proud to be a Michigander, but you won't see me and my children dancing and clapping and singing and shouting. They just probably want attention.

I know exactly what you are talking about. We just returned last night and the tour groups were something else. Those shear number of unsupervised teenagers is never a good thing. They'd have 2 adults carrying flags for a group of 30+ teenagers.

We also went in July last year and while there were many tour groups then I noticed the number of them has greatly increased this trip.

They were even at SeaWorld and I was nearly swallowed whole by the group of them screaming somesort of cheer as they walked along in mass. All I can say is YIKES!

When I say them coming we quickly switched our path to try and avoid them. Seemed like the safest and best option. I still loved my time in the "World" and didn't let this get to me but it was something I noticed and tried to avoid when possible.
:crowded: We did the same thing at Sea World last week too. If we saw the flags coming we would run the other way.

Gosh I was not aware this was a common problem at WDW.

Last October while we were at the parks we ran into a large group from Australia. They were all wearing matching shirts. We were waiting in a long line in a cave setting. (For the life of me I cannot remember what the attraction was. :confused3) But a young male sitting on the shoulders of a man started this yelling. He would ask a question (yelling) and the rest of the group would yell back. They would repeat and repeat and repeat the same thing over and over again. It really hurt your ears being in a cave type setting :scared1: This went on for a good 15-20 minutes. They were getting some interesting glares from people around them. But they didn't stop.

Can someone tell me what the purpose of this is? If it were to just pass the time, they could sing something, not yell. It is much worse to yell in a closed building setting where everyone is in line and basically captive.

Glad you had a great trip Fantasia
Inspite if the loud tour groups. We were there on July 3-10. We saw he groups acting up on several occassion too. Very loud. No reason for it. We are all excited to be at WDW, but really!
Do you have any pics posted? You have a beautiful family ;)

Well, once in a while you do. Around bowl time, espicially if Michigan is playing in one of the Florida bowls, then large groups of Michigan fans (and fans of whatever team they're playing) will be in the parks for vacations. But I'm a Michigan fan, I have nothing against ppl yelling "Go Blue!" ;)

Brazillians and teens aren't the only one. There was enough Hail to the Victors and Fight Ons sung a couple of years ago at Disneyland to last a lifetime.
USC was off at the Orange bowl winning another national title so I didn't get back to the Rosebowl last year. Did you guys happen to notice if they peeled Navarre out of the turf yet? I was real concerned about the poor guy after being squished into the turf like a pancake with those 9 sacks and all.

For all I know the Brazillian groups might be singing something to the effect of everybody likes me nobody hates me I'm going to eat some worms or some other dumb campfire song or something like that.

We feel your pain...we had the same problem a few years back at the beginning of June. I thought perhaps the touring groups had dissipated over the last couple of years. Guess I was wrong. I certainly hope we're not confronted by the same problem in October! For those who haven't come across these Brazilian tour groups...they can be loud, obnoxious, and downright rude, for sure!

We were there the first week of July and there were many Brazilian tour groups. I was a teen once. It's exciting to be with your friends at such an exciting place. However I was very disappointed with their lack of respect for othere people. My DD4 and I were walking in to see Woody and Jessie. We were the first in the building and as we were almost to them when the tour group literally ripped my daughter away from my hand and plunged in front of us. My DD was scared, she couldn't find me because there was at least 30-40 kids separating me from her. I finally got a hold of her and ended up being almost last in line (when I was originally first.) There was 1 girl in the group that told us to go in front. We got our pictures and autographs
and went on our merry way. However, I feel that they were extremely rude. People cut, I understand that. But to be pulled away from your child is uncalled for.

However we had a marvelous time. We just worked around the groups. And there was a lot of them.

I say give them a break. They are kids, with their friends at the happiest place on earth having the time of their life. They are experiencing something they will remember the rest of their lives. So they make alot of noise while standing in line or waiting for a show. Heck, I wish I was 16 again and could join them. I'd make alot of noise myself. It's not like they are waiting for a performance of the New York Philharmonic. Seems to me like crowds and noise kind of go hand and hand with being at WDW.

There is NO excuse for seperating a family w/ a young child. I don't care that you are a teen or not, excited or not, there is no excuse.

Actually my remark was not meant to be a defense at all about separating a child from her family. I was talking about the noise. I agree there is no excuse for that at all. Unfortunately my reponse just happened to fall under the previous post.
