Well I filled out the online survey that the Poly has been sending out to people after their stays (filled one out in May too) and in my survey I mentioned the air conditioning problems we had throughout our stay.

--Our air conditioning was not working 80% of the time. Apparently they are having issues with circuits blowing in the new rooms

Anyhow, I was just venting a little when I submitted my survey it really isn't anything that ruined our trip and I mentioned that fact as well. Well this was about 3 weeks ago all of a sudden today I get a call from a woman in Disney's executive offices and she said she just wanted to call and apologize for our inconvinience and offer us 1 complimentary nights stay at the Poly which we can use on any future visit :teeth: . This is awesome!!! :Pinkbounc We go at least once a year and I think a free night is great, we really weren't inconvinienced that much it was just a bit of a bother to call the front desk each morning and let them know that the air conditioning was out again. So I guess our next trip will be 1 night longer than normal. LOL... I couldn't possibly stay the normal 10 nights and just save some money now could I. Anyhow, I just had to share I think this is great.

I just filled out my Poly survey today. They say right on it that they do not contact you from the survey. There isn't even any place to put personal info like your name or phone number. How did they find you?

Alex Tina--that is good news to hear that Disney took responsibility for a problem. I hate to ask this, but did you have a discount on your room or were you paying rack rate. In the past when I've had problems, which are rare, a CM has called me at home to discuss it and the first thing they usually say is "I notice you had a discount on your room....and it ends with--you get what you paid for attitude.." which stinks. We had a not too great stay at the CR mid-September and I, like you, filled out my survey and mentioned everything that we had a problem with, from no hot water one day, to fighting the employees and construction workers daily in the So. parking lot for a parking space; and also the poor housekeeping. Also answered that no CMs made any positive impression on me, or ever went out of their way to make our stay magically (even though we had family and friends staying for help celebrate my 50th birthday). Even when we asked if there was hot water, the CMs acted like we were making it up. I ended my survey with the question "would you ever stay here again," and I answered NO! (sorry, still venting)....but am truly glad to see your outcome was positive!

I just wanted to share my good fortune, it seems to have rubbed you the wrong way for some reason :confused3 .

Well its been awhile since I filled it out but if I remember correctly there is a section at the very end that askes if you would like to be contacted or something like that. Anyhow, when you are filling out the survey there are several points at which you are allowed to summarize your previous entry and I entered my reservation number there and stated that it would be fine to contact me if any further information was needed.

However, it is also entirely possible that she just called because of all the problems we had and that maybe it didn't have anything at all to do with the survey. I just assumed it was because of the survey since that is the only time I complained in writing anyway.

Yes actually we had an AP discount. They also had my information at the Poly because I am sure they keep records when people call for maintenance and I was calling everyday although I was nice about it I did mention that it was a BIG inconvinience. Did you complain to anyone while you were there? I am sure you did about the hot water anyway, they should have a record of it. You might consider sending an e-mail.

Well gee, actually you didn't rub me the wrong way. At least til now that is. I honestly wanted to know how they knew who you were. I have had 8 surveys from the resorts and never had a place to put your name. The part at the end asks if you want to contact someone and they supply you with their email for you to contact them, not the other way around. I asked if you had a place to do this because I filled out a survey today with a complaint and wanted to know if I was in for a phone call. My complaint was also about the Poly. Next time maybe you should think before being so rude.

She did get a little defensive didn't she??

AlexTina, sometimes people do legitimately ask questions, you don't have to be nasty in response. My surveys have always been like skiwee1 described too. It was a simple question. Geesh!!

Thank you. I thought maybe I was missing something!

So sorry if you thought I was rude. I was simply excited and wanted to share my good news. Sometimes I don't know why I bother with these boards no matter what your posting about there is always somebody or several people for that matter ready to attack! :confused3 Like I said previously I assumed that the reason they contacted me was the survey, however, I could be wrong maybe they just contacted me because I called the front desk so many times and again I assume they keep some sort of record. Hope I didn't offend anyone this time :goodvibes .

AlexTina..we had the same problem the 1st week of October. Our fridge kept blowing fuses, and the air went out 3 times. We called down, and a girl came up and fixed in, usually within 20 minutes. She said they had problems with the fuses. We stayed in Fiji... :earsboy:

We were in Fiji also and like you normally it didn't take anytime at all to fix but on our last full day they had to fix it several times and the last time they tried it would come on for literally 5 seconds and then go out again. The guy who was trying to fix it finally went and got a new thermostat, put that in and we didn't have anymore problems. I wonder if they just got a bad batch of thermostats. I know nothing about electricity or why a bad thermostat would cause the fuse to keep blowing but this seems to be a fairly common problem with the new rooms so maybe that's it. Who knows :confused3 .
