We bought 450 SSR points... thanks to everyone for the tips

I also purchased SSR yesterday (250 points) so I guess we'll be neighbors ;)

I knew nothing about the banking policy so I'm glad I read this thread. I talked to my rep and she explained it to me. It does seem a little petty but what the hay, we are still excited and happy about our purchase.

Funny thing, we did the same thing as you with the Credit Card and that was one of the contributing factors to purchasing. I was able to put the entire amount ($22,500) on my Marriott card which puts me over the top for Three 5 day Park Hopper Tickets for free!! I fly so much that I usually get 5-7 free tickets per year (more than I use) so I use the Marriott card for all purchases to get these free Park Hopper passes. How much are these passes worth now? I can't remember.

We will also pay it off next month and thus not pay any interest. I can't believe Disney accepts credit cards for this purchase since they are surely losing around 2% by doing so. Anyway, good for us, bad for them.

See you around!!

BTW: We chose the August Use Year.

MDF,

Thank you for the welcome :) and congratulations to you too! My wife and I spent 3 years living in Great Falls a long time ago when I was serving my country. We loved Montana! My middle daughter (who is getting 150 of these SSR points someday) goes to school in Missoula.

Missoula is awesome. Very pretty in the summer and U of M always has a GREAT football team. Go Griz !!!

I live in Billings but we have an office in Missoula so I'm up there quite a bit.

My entire family comes from Dutton, MT which is very close to Gt. Falls and I've got a lot of cousins and other relatives who still live in Gt. Falls. We sell a lot of equipment (pumps, sprinklers) to Malmstrom AFB which is probably where you worked.

A lot in common! Small world :D

I see you took my suggestion to buy 3-150 point contracts, but I forgot something. What about yourself, don't you need 150 for yourself? I see an add on coming...

That's funny. We are actually talking about adding 50 more points next year when we can afford more. I think 450 would be more than enough for anyone!!! :p My family could go nutz with that many points!!!!

Nuthut, But I am married... so wouldn't Debbie need 150 too? I better call and increase the amount to 750 (kust kidding).

Len,

Thank you very much for the welcome :) I think it has been 10 years since we talked... let's plan to get together during one of our upcoming trips... And yes... you and Linda were right... we should have bought DVC back in 1992 with you guys!

Check your email... if for some reason mine did not come through... please send one to me.

 Welcome Home...and Congratulations!!! We are at SSR as well UY Feb due to the school thing too.

Welcome home!!! We are at SSR with 450pts. too, for the same reason - giving three separate contracts to each of our three children. Our use year is August, we always plan our vacations then. Our first trip "home" is 89 days away and counting!!!

Enjoy planning!!!
