We Be Trippin': The Great DIS-nee Road Trip

Hey, Suz:

Considering it's almost Wednesday already, I'm thinking the wait until your [Monday, June 2] return won't seem too terribly long.

Plus, if I understand correctly, madbrad still has to wrap up his leg of the journey, followed by Disneymommom's tour of Louisiana. Maybe Marshay can post her Hershey Park photos then. (Hopefully, that will keep us busy for a while... :thumbsup2 )

Does anyone have any strong preferences? (Thoughts? Comments? ...Snide remarks? )

Travel safely!!

I think we should aim to get to Disneyland in time to celebrate New Years!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yep! That's the kind of remark I was hoping to get! ;)

Good! I was debating whether I needed to add a bunch of :hyper: :) :goodvibes or :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: ...didn't want to offend anyone...but then decided to let it stand.

So maybe we need to start placing dibs on when this road trip will end...

It is interesting to see other people comment on the road trip on other threads...

Ok, so as our bus is on the highway, I'm sure you've all been looking out the window at all the highway billboards...some are funny, some are boring...

I'm going to suggest that in-between our sites, we point out the interesting billboards, or should I say DISboards (i.e., other threads that we subscribe to or just read or find funny), along the way...

Here is a new one that I just started posting to:

Official DIS Hidden Mickey FAQ Thread - With Pictures!!!

It's fun to look for the hidden mickeys and also to guess where the photo was taken at within Disney. If you have a HM photo, please post it!

I dunno your New Years projection is sounding pretty likely to me! :rolleyes1

Cool! :teeth: (Really?!? Where? I know that "I believe" recently mentioned it on the "Adventures of the 'Moms' Panel" thread... )

Total OT Aside, So I Apologize in Advance :flower3: : Do you still check that thread frequently? 'Seems I saw a recent post from you in response to RatBoy's Toy Story Mania tips. I sooo want to check out that new ride and the new parade, so I guess that makes Hollywood Studios a priority for me... Oh, and did you get a chance to try Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station in the MK? Was it worth it?)

Now that's a great idea, Marshay! I'll play!

*Character Photo Caption Contest

And, of course, one of my all-time favorites (and a guilty pleasure :teeth: ): the Beverly Face thread! (Side Note: I just noticed that Kenny the Pirate (KTP) posted the photo of his wife Melinda, page 9.)
*"Let's see your Beverly photos!"

:offtopic: Yes, I was referring to "I Believe"'s comments on the Mom's Panel. Yes, I still check out that thread...just not religiously...but I happened to see Brett's posts about TSM and had to comment ... which brought him over to the HM thread and he posted quite a few ones I've never seen before (like the one at the Poly on the ground in the lobby!! OMG --I've probably walked right on top of it!)

I love RNR and ToT but never thought of DHS as a priority since DD can't ride these yet (actually, she was tall enough to go on ToT but I didn't want to scare the crayola out of her! But yeah, now with TSM and the great character interactions (I think signing autographs is our newest thing), we will have to go to DHS.

As for Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station, well, I guess you'll just have to read my trip report! :rotfl2:

Actually, I think I only gave it a brief mention. It was the first time we ate there and as someone else mentioned (Cat maybe?), it compares to the asian places you find at the airport or malls -- maybe a little better. Now don't get me wrong, I liked it and would eat there again, esp as it provides something a little different ... but it wasn't something to write home about!

Thanks for posting, esp the Beverly thread one b/c I wanted to look at those again! I was debating whether to do it to my DD or not ... but then my dilemma was solved when we never got over there! :rotfl:

Will need to check out those other 2 threads!

I'm happy to have the road trip be as relaxed as necessary to fit into everyone's schedules. I've enjoyed every moment, and am looking forward to seeing Louisiana - thanks Mommom!

I think we should aim to get to Disneyland in time to celebrate New Years!

I have been seriously thinking about this idea! This virtual trip has been ten times as cool as I thot it would be. Even the places I've been before were wildly interesting. So I hope it does take most of the rest of the year to finish!! Nothing wrong with too much pleasure!

YAY for Disneyland at New Year's!!!!! How fun will that be!!! I agree with everyone, the slow pace to let everybody have plenty of time is great! As far as I'm concerned, the longer the vacation the better! :beach:

Once again, let me apologize for the delay. My priorities at work have changed. As you can tell, I’m no longer working night shift. I’ve applied for a job promotion and unfortunately that requires me to participate in a rigorous training program. I have class from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm with only a 30 min lunch. Once I get home at around 6:00, I’m either busy with the family or busy studying. I don’t have much free time on the weekends because I’m busy studying for my test on Tuesday. I’m trying to make this as interesting and unique as possible and as time permits. If this is really DRAGGING on for some of you, I can cut this short and we can move on to the next person. I have some really neat stuff to post and if you’ll bear with me, I’ll try to wrap this up ASAP.

Yay! I say let's wait to see what you have to post. ::yes::

I'm not in any hurry - it's nice to relax!

Hey! Thanks for checking in, madbrad! :wave2: ('Sorry to hassle 'ya! :flower3: I was just seeking some clarification on our itinerary!)

It sounds like folks are perfectly happy with the leisurely pace, so please don't cut any corners! We'll just enjoy the journey as it unfolds...

Meanwhile, here's hoping that job promotion comes your way! :wizard: (No need to apologize! Spending quality time with the family, striving to advance at work... Seriously, where are your priorities?!? ;) )

It is 'kinda neat! :goodvibes

And, can I just say it's soooo much fun when folks are logged on at the same time?!? (I miss interacting with everyone in "real time"... :) )

Edited to Add: HA! I just now noticed that our initial comments to madbrad were posted at the exact same time (6:21 p.m.).
