I have to share my Wrestler story from WDW. Back in 2001 when DH and I were walking around DTD, we ran into Steve Blackman, he was one of the HardCore contenders back then. He was HUGE!! I was awestruck, and said the stupidest thing ever said to a wrestler.

I'm just glad you explained who the Rock is. It seems like every time I was pulling into the Beach Club the last few days, his party was leaving in two black Escalades that were parked out front. The valet and bell gang were all really excited and I was too embarrassed to ask who he was.

Yes, he was staying with his family in a suite at the Beach Club. We ran into him in the CL lounge a couple of times.

Well my kids are completely freaking out at this, we all love the Rock. Did he seem approachable to everyone? Did anyone come up to him for an autograph? That's so neat.

In my opinion, he wasn't very approachable- not that he didn't seem extremely nice, but he had 2 bodyguards with him- when they initially passed us outside of the CP it was fast, and I did hear someone shout at him 'can we take a picture with you?' but he rushed past without saying anything- he was smiling, though. Inside the restaurant the bodyguards were seated at a table right near The Rock, (on an aside, one guard was a large man, the other more avarage, but buff, both wearing light blue polo-ish shirts- the LARGE man's shirt was covered in sweat- I know not an attractive picture...) but they seemed a bit intimidating- I'm more reserved by nature but DH would have kept the camera clicking throughout the whole meal if I hadn't told him to not take pictures...


I did pass right behind The Rock after going to the buffet- I don't think the guards necessarily liked that I did that, but the other walkway was jammed with people getting their pictures taken with the Pooh characters.

No one bothered him at all- no one was rushing over to them with a camera. I don't think anyone who didn't see him walk in would have even known who he was, as he had his back to the restaurant and was looking out the window. After I went passed him with my food, I didn't really see anyone else pass behind him- not because they couldn't, but their table took up pretty much the whole section and starting at my table, it didn't make sense to pass by that table...it's kind of hard to explain unless you understand the seating arrangments at the restaurant...I hope I am not coming across too vague...

Basically, to answer your question, I think since he was with his family and 4 young girls, no one made any overly obvious attempts to talk to him or get near him in the restaurant. It is possible that other tables were taking pictures of him, but they sure couldn't have gotten the view of him we had !

That is just funny talking about his bodyguards, they really must have to be big men, since he is a pretty big guy You would think he could take care of himself

Actually he and his wife, Dany Garcia, divorced in June 2007 after 10 years of marriage and they only have 1 daughter. Her birthday is 8/14. Also states he and ex-wife were parting amicably and would spend the rest of their lives together as best friends. Guess he brought some of his daughters firends to WDW with them, what a great father

Many years ago, when he was still only a wrestler, I was working a WWwhatever show setting up the ring and taking everything down when the match was over. I was walking down the halls and I passed by this HUGE guy (I am only 5'2" and about 115 pounds at the time.) I had no idea who he was, just the fact that he made me feel very, very small. I was telling a friend about it a few days later and I described what he looked like and she told me that I had seen the Rock. It still took a year or two for me to really figure out who the Rock was. Guess I should have asked for an autograph back then. Oh well!
