We went to Disney World from September 1st to 6th, 2011. It has taken me a while to get started on this review because my husband got sick in Florida, and we have been going to doctors to find out what is wrong with him. We have an appointment with the doctor next Monday and then will hopefully know.

I am 30 and my husband is 41 and this was our first trip to Disney together. He never went to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom before this trip. I have been to Disney many times and can't wait to return for more trips.

Here is a picture of us at Citrico's.

I learned a lot from these boards before my trip, and wanted to do my own review. We stayed at Pop Century and had a great time, except for the day spent in the ER.

We had the DXDDP and really liked it.

Just so you know, pictures were taken at every meal and when I figure out how to upload them, I will.

Thursday September 1st

We arrived at Disney World from NY a little after 1:00 pm. After a trip on Disney's Magical Express, we made it to Pop Century to check in. I requested a
King size bed prior to arriving and when we checked in the CM said that a king size bed room still needed to be cleaned. We were fine with that, and they said they would text us when it was ready. We left our carry-on bags with luggage assistance, and took the bus to Hollywood Studios for our first ADR at 50's Prime
Time Cafe. I love this restaurant and always like to have a waiter really into the theme. We were lucky enough to get the waiter who was featured on the Food Network. He was fabulous and we had a great time. I knew from before we left that I was going to have a milkshake. I had read on here that someone was able to order a chocolate peanut butter one, and I knew if I could I would get that.

It was so delicious!:cheer2:

My husband had a vanilla coke which he said was good.

For my appetizer I had the chicken noodle soup.

This was very good, a little salty, but good.

My husband had the Auntie Anne's Seafood Salad which he really liked.

For the main course, I had a chicken caesar salad with the dressing on the side. I love caesar salads and normally order them everywhere. This was very good.

My husband ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes which he said was very good.

P9010158.jpg

For dessert, I ordered the s'mores which I did not like at all.

P9010159.jpg

My husband ordered the brownies sundae, delicious, which of course I had to help him eat. Sorry, I did not get a picture of the brownie sundae, he ate most of it before I was able to take a picture. We loved 50's Prime Time Cafe and will definitely keep eating there.

After lunch, we walked around Hollywood Stidios in the rain, went on most rides, and then got a text that our room was ready. We made our way to Pop Century, went to our "king" size bed room, and it was two double beds. By this point we were wet and tired and did not feel like complaining. It worked out fine. Before making our way to dinner, we went to Everything Pop, got our free mugs and I got a piece of tie dyed cheesecake. This cake was very interesting. I enjoyed the cheesecake part, not the red velvet part. I am glad I got this, but would not get this again.

We had a 9:50 reservation at Citrico's and took the bus from Pop. We were running a little late, told the bus driver where we were going, and he then told us he would drive us right to GF. How lucky were we!!:yay: When I made all the ADR's, I put down it was my birthday and I got a personalized menu.

We got a great table overlooking the castle, but due to the rain earlier, we couln't see the fireworks from Wishes. I ordered unsweetened iced tea and my husband ordered a diet coke as our drinks and were also given bread with butter. I don't like olives, my husband loves them, so he ate the Kalamata Olive Bread and I had the other.

We then ordered Salad of Romaine Lettuce with roasted garlic dressing with heats of palm, pickled peppers, and a Garlic-Anchovy Breadstick.

This was very good!We don't normally order the same things at restaurants but we both ordered the filet which we both really enjoyed. I liked the sauce that came on the steak, the potatoes were good, and we liked the pep padres and banana peppers.

There was not one bite left and we really enjoyed it.

For dessert, we shared the Warm Chocolate Banana Tort-heaven on a plate.

We loved Citrico's and would definetly return.

Friday September 2, 2011

We woke up early this morning to make our way to the Grand Floridian to have breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe. I never realized how long it would take to get to all of our ADR's, and we were late. It didn't matter though because the restaurant was pretty empty. I thought the restaurant was pretty and I liked the table that we were given, right by the window overlooking the pool.

I started with a pot of coffee and my husband had a tomato juice.

For my entree, I had the egg white fritata and asked them to add cheese to it. This was very good and also came with a side of fresh fruit.

My husband ordered the french toast which came with two sausage links. He enjoyed this.

We really liked the Grand Floridian Cafe and would happily return in the future.

After we ate at The Grand Floridian Cafe my husband started to feel sick. I asked him if he wanted to go back to the hotel, but he didn't want to ruin our vacation, so we made our way to Epcot. We went on a few rides, and then it was time for our ADR at The San Angel Inn. I have eaten here many times, and always enjoy it. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea and my husband a diet coke, seeing a theme here. They then gave us the chips and salsa.

P9020207.jpg

I then ordered us two appetizers to share: Tostadas de Tinga-Fried corn tortillas topped with black beans, lettuce, onions, avocado, tomato marinated chicken, sour cream, and fresh cheese. The second appetizer was Tacos al Pastor-Duck meat marinated with Mexican spices, served on flour tortillas, topped with onions, cilantro, diced mango, and fresh salsa verde. They were both very good and a perfect amount for us to share.

P9020208.jpg

For my entree, I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes con Pollo-Corn tortillas filled with pulled chicken, covered with green tomatillo sauce, topped with sour cream, queso fresco and onion, served with black beans.

P9020209.jpg

My husband ordered the shrimp ceasar salad.

P9020210.jpg

I finished my food, my husband ate a couple of bites, and then we left. This was the only restaurant that we skipped dessert. We went to make our way back to the hotel, and we passed the first aid place. We went in to have my husbands blood pressure taken, it was high, and they recommended that we go to the ER. Disney took us in an ambulance to Celebrations Hospital where my husband had a battery of tests. They found a mass in his kidney, wanted to admit him, but he refused to stay. When we were ready to leave the hospital, Disney sent a cab for us to go back to the hotel. When we got back to the hotel, they then arranged a second cab for my husband to go to the pharmacy to pick up his medication. They were so great and I wish that I could thank each and every person who helped us again.

We were supposed to have dinner at the Flying Fish Cafe which I had to cancel due to the trip to the hospital. Instead we ordered a pizza from Everything Pop and ate in our room.

I am sorry to hear your DH has been sick. Hopefully you find out that it is nothing serious.

As for the photos, did you upload them to photobucket? If you do that, then it is easy to copy & paste the link & put them into your reviews.

Looking forward to the rest ...

Saturday September 3, 2011

We woke up this morning, and my husband was feeling better. We took the bus from our hotel to Hollywood Studios and took the boat to The Beach Club Resort for our breakfast at the Cape May Cafe.

P9020216.jpg

We were seated in a nice booth in the back of the restaurant and were brought both orange juice and coffee.

P9020217.jpg

Since I wrote that it was my birthday on our ADR, I was given a card signed by all of the characters and a cupcake.

Here is a bonus picture of us with Minnie:

We thought the food was really good and would highly recommend this restaurant.
