We just received a call from Jaki (atimeshare) who informed us that our OKW resale had been completed. We now just have to wait for our books and such. So we immediately purchased 25 additional points from SSR. I cant believe how fast this process went. It only took a total of 4 weeks from start to finish. Jaki was wonderful and I highly recommend her.

We purchased 175 points of resale for OKW and added 25 points from SSR.

Since we already had booked two trips this year we are going to bank the points we have for next year. Our use year is February. I am wondering if we can book a trip for the first week of March 2005 at 11 months out if we banked our points and wont get the next 200 points until February of 2005. We will need 296 points for our stay im March 2005. Can we do this or do we have to have all the points at the current time.

Hope this makes sense.

I believe you only need the points at time of vacation with DVC properties but with other properties you need at the time you make the ressies. We will be making our first ressies in May!

First of all - Congratulations and welcome home!

As RCM already posted, if the points will be in your account on the day you arrive, you can make the reservation for your home resort when the 11 month window opens. No need to wait!

Just a short review of use year and reservations:

You have a February use year.

Your 2004 points are good for stays between 2/1/2004 and 1/31/2005.

Your 2005 points are good for stays b etween 2/1/2005 and 1/31/2006.

You want to stay in March 2005. That stay falls within your 2005 use year. Therefore you must use points that are in your 2005 use year.

There are 3 ways to get points into your 2005 use year:

*1. Current use year points. Those are the points that are put into your account on 2/1/2005.

*2. You may bank points from your 2004 use year. Once you bank them, those points become good for stays between 2/1/2005 and 1/31/2006. (Use these points for your March 2005 reservation before you use current use year points because if the banked points are not used before 1/31/2006, they will expire and be lost to you. You cannot bank them again. However, you could bank the current use year points - the ones put into your account on 2/1/2005, if you want/need to).

*3. You may borrow points from your 2006 use year. Originally, these points would be good for stays between 2/1/2006 and 1/31/2007. If you borrow them, they become good for stays between 2/1/2005 and 1/31/2006. Once borrowed, they cannot be returned to their original use year. If not used by 1/31/2006, they will expire and be lost.

Again, you may always make a home resort reservation 11 months ahead of your desired check out date. It has nothing to do with your use year/when the points are added to your account. As long as their will be points in your account when you arrive, you are all set!

Again, WELCOME HOME!

We used Jaki for our resales also... LOVE HER!

WELCOME HOME!!!!

And Carol did a very nice job explaining the whole booking thing!

Hi,

Congrats & welcome home!!!

We also used Jaki. She is great. Welcome home. You have to be the fastest for an add-on of anyone I've ever heard from. You added on before the ink was dry on the original contract (almost).;)
