We bought at SSR just a few months ago sight unseen. We purchased over the phone with just a brochure in hand. I think the other resorts may be enticing but having a brand new resort with all the ammenities is very appealing. We are very happy with our decision.

we bought unseen also. and did not even have a brochure to look at!! first stay there is in august.

We too had the little brochure with the "artist rendering" pics, and bought back in may. We are all too excited! We go in August to see the real thing!

We are going to SSR in August too for our first trip! 15th-22nd.
We are treating my sister, bro-in-law and nephew. Should be a great trip as I don't believe I have ever stayed in a condo for a family vacation. BTW We had no hesitations about spending the money for this....how can you go wrong with Disney????

I would have liked to have known just 9 months ago when I bought about even the possibility of a 3rd phase. Phase two was on ther map and outlined in green as proposed. There was no indication of anything after that. I worry about it being too big.

We toured first, then bought, but I'm sure I would have bought site unseen.
You are going to love it! It's so beautiful and peaceful but yet with enough going on. Does that make sense?

We also bought sight unseen in February. We visit for the first time in September. Can't wait to celebrate my son's 6th birthday at our home away from home!

I also bought site unseen but then this will be our third Home Resort. We now have WLV,BCV and SSR with a total of 500 points.I could have bought at $79.00 a point but you have to sell your first year points to get that rate.I went with the other option.Instead of selling back my points for $10.00 a point I Got $5.00 a point and kept my points so it was $84.00 a point.I have never sold back my points on any of my DVC purchases.I like having the points to use.

First the glib response: You know all those pages and pages of fine print that you signed? That's where Disney says that even though you're giving them thousands and thousands of dollars, they can still do whatever they want!!! ;)

Seriously, I was a little bit worred when I first heard the news. But honestly it was no different than the slight sense of unease that we felt when we first bought SSR sight-unseen. And that's worked out very well so far.

I'm assuming you're mostly worried about streching some of the amenities (dining, pool, etc.) too far. If so, look at it like this...how easy do you think it will be for DVC to sell that final 1/3 of points if they are showing people an overcrowded pool area and a dining area packed to the gills.

Right now, SSR is the jewel in the DVC crown. They moved the sales center to SSR, thus making it the source of many people's first impression. The last thing they want is to start disappointing people before they are even introduced to a Guide.

Reserve final judgement until the new resort plan is made public. I suspect that DVC will not cut any corners.
