Hello,

we are back home or should I say: Hannah is back home.

As you all might now, this time was a horrible trip. We stayed for 7 days which was our longest stay since years and we planned a one day trip to Paris also but everything went completly wrong the day we arrived.

Hannah was ill over the days before we go but we went to the doctor and he said, that she could go. So we deceided to take her with us and drove with the Thalys to Paris where Ezyshuttle takes us to the SQL.

And then the nightmare began: In the evening Hannah became very high temperature with 39-40 degress. My wife is a nurse so she knows what to do. I went to the concierge desk and ask for help and the cast member told me to call 112 for a medical help. Oh lord....with my horrible English !!

I told them what happened to Hannah and they´ve send us a doctor. He was at our room within 45 minutes. It was Dr. Picard and he was such a fantastic man and doctor !!! He reminds me a little bit of Patch Adams. As I wrote before Hannah was very scared but he was great, helpful and sometimes funny to her.

He wrote down some medicine (antibiosis) for Hannah and told us that I should go to the concierge with this receipt where they send someone to get it for me.

Hannah was very weak and the nights were very short for all of us. We did not sleep at all.

You have to take antibiosis for 3 days to know if they are working or not, so we stayed most of the time in our room.....and after 3 days the antibiosis worked.....not. First Hannah was getting a little bit better but after each 4 hours the temperature rises again and again.

So I called Dr. Picard again. Once again he was very friendly and gave us another antibiosis because the first one did not worked.

Again the concierge desk get our medicine in a fastlighning speed. And so we had to wait for 3 days the second time.

It was a horrible. Hannah stayed at our hotel room for nearly 7 days. She was outside the room only for 1 or 2 hours. She was inside the park for a complete 4 hours visit in 7 days and she did not see any characters.

We all became more and more depressed each day but we tried to make the best of our situation.

And now here comes the one and only high:

The cast members of the SQL !

I can not say enough how great everyone was. Everyone helped us in our situation. They were very friendly and tried to cheer us up.

Each time we went a little bit trough the hotel they said "Hi" to Hannah and asked her how she felt. They gave us a Minnie with our medicine as a present and one morning Hannah gets two Frozen pins as we passed the concierge desk.

At the day of our ckeck out someone was knocking at our door. As I opened there were two cast members with a "Cooper" toy for Hannah. They wish us all a good journey back home.

I have to say that I cried at this moment because I was tired, angry, depressed, greatful and happy all in one second.

I have read in other thread that some cast members where not very friendly and sometimes rude. I can not praise the cast members of the SQL enough ! I wrote a long handwritten "Thank you" letter for them and left it in the ckeck-out box, so I hope they will get it. I will send a special mail to the guest communication email also.

And of course: Thank you !! Thank you all for your good wishes ! You do not know how much it helps to know that someone is out there somewhere....

We finaly made it back home. It was hard but we are here. We went to our doctor today and he said that Hannah had scarlet fever together with a flu.

And the hard part: The second antibiosis from Dr.Picard was the right one and she is better now and I guess she will be ok soon.

She is crying all the time and I am thinking of bringing her back to DLP this year. But we put all our money aside for this trip as we did each year and I have to finanance it again right from the start.

But when I look in her eyes I know what to do.

Sorry for my horrible English...thanks Cast Members of the SQL and thanks to you all !!

It´s great to be a small part of the DISer family.

I'm so happy that the second antibiotic worked and that Hannah is finally getting better.
And - please stop apologizing about your English - it is magnificent!! :earsboy:
(I'm American, by the way, so my English might be a little different from what you learned.)

Sorry to hear that your trip wasn't what you planned and that Hannah was ill for the whole trip. Glad to hear good things about the CM's in the hotel. I have stayed there many times and have never had a problem with the staff, they have always been helpful and polite.

Glad to hear Hannah is on the mend and getting better and I hope you get to take another trip soon :)

So pleased to hear Hannah is much better now, but so sad that your trip was ruined. It must have been a very worrying time for you , I can imagine how upset she is, I know how upset I was at spending so long in the hotel room on our last trip.
Maybe planning another shorter budget trip is the answer, APs and there are some good off site hotel rates. Hope things work out for you whatever you decide :)

So sorry to hear about all that. And I so understand you, because I was the one ill this trip. But it so good to hear Hannah is doing better. I hope she gets well soon. And I'll keep fingers crossed for a fantastic deal for you so you could bring Hannah to DLP as soon as possible and you would have a truly magical time.

Oh Thorsten, I am so sorry for you all :grouphug: but pleased that Hannah is getting better. :goodvibes

I will cross everything for you to be able to come back very soon and have the holiday that you so much need and deserve pixiedust:

Oh I'm so sorry for you guys!

We had a likewise experience February '14.
I got sick the night before we were leaving. Feeling really sick and throwing up but we had had take out Pizza and kebabs the night before so I assumed they just landed on my stomach wrong and that I'd be okay once it was out of my system. So when the alarm went off at 5 AM I got up, took a high dose of medication for my stomach and put this in the cup holder in the car, made sure to take plenty of plastic bags just in case and off we went. I managed walking through the parks 'til 3PM. Didn't enjoy it at all, I was wrecked from getting no sleep the night before and almost all rides were a no go because I was already nauseous. I literally fell a sleep during Animagique so when we could check in at the Santa Fe we went there immediately and I tried to sleep it off. By 7 PM I was just getting worse and constantly needed the loo because I was throwing up all the time (and I hadn't eaten anything since the night before!) and we made the tough call of checking out and driving back home. We had only booked for 1 night anyways and it was clear we weren't gonna enjoy our visit this way. I cried like crazy when we got in the car. I was sick for another week afterwards yet just knowing it had ruined the Disney vacation we'd been looking forward too for so long and knowing all that money had gone down the drain just made me feel a thousand times worse.

Going back this June though for 3 days and getting anual passes so I'm sure we'll make up for it, and I'm sure you guys will make up for it too in the future!
I get how you feel right now though, it's a horrible feeling knowing how superb it could've been and than being confronted with the reality of how it actually went. Lots of hugs and cuddles and I hope your little one gets better soon!

Sorry to hear of your daughters illness. I recall my daughters severe ear infection following a Disney Med cruise. We had a transatlantic flight the next morning. Not a fun way to end our trip.

oh I'm so sorry to hear your daughter was so sick and your trip was ruined. I really hope you can have another trip as soon as possible!

What else to say... i am so sorry for your daughter, even though i am happy she is better now, hopefully you will go back soon, maybe staying off site will make it more affordable for you?
Big big hugs your way!!!

So sorry to hear you had such a terrible time. Glad Hannah is improving and well done to all the CMs at SL who tried to make this better for you. :flower:

Oh, so sorry to read this  glad Hannah is on the mend now and hope you can get back asap.

So sorry to hear you had such an awful time.
I really hope you manage to have another trip in the near future and that it goes wonderfully for you!

Phew, what a trip (and not in a good way) :sad1: You poor things and especially sad for your daughter. I've not been on here for a couple of days as my DS has a fever and I can't imagine having to cope with it from a hotel room. I can only hope that the kindness of the SQL CMs will at least leave Hannah with some happy memories, that you can draw strength again from being home at last and are able to have a successful return trip as soon as possible.

Thanks for all your reply.

I´m back at work for the first day now and it is horrible.

At a normal situation I have the "Disney Blues" and go on remembering our last trip but this time there was "no last trip".

Hannah is still weak and she can not go to school for this week. She will be ok but it will take some time.

There will be no trip this year for us but I have already looked for March next year and the prices are good.

So.....just for fun.....I have a new ticker.

Poor Hannah, hope every day she feels a bit better and remember, each day is a day nearer the next trip too. :goodvibes

What an awful trip but I'm so glad Hannah is on the mend!! And well done to the CMs at SQL!

Concentrate on planning for the next one!

Update

Today I received an email from Disney asking how Hannah feels right now. Beside this they send me a voucher for a one night stay at the SQL with park tickets for 2 days.

I can not believe this. Unbelievable service !!

I am a Disney/-land fan (as all of you) but this make me even more go wild and fanatic.

We will use this for our trip next March and this will make not a 7 day trip.....now its a 8 days trip for us.

This makes Hannah smile in a time were she did not smile very often.

so sorry to hear Hannah as sick during your tip but how lovely of Disney to contact you checking how is she feeling and offering free staypixiedust:
