Well once again we had a great time. I found the crowds to be very easy to handle. I have been at less crowded times like Nov. and have have been when crowds are heavy in May. The best day was the day the tropical storm hit. We went to AK and we walked on everything. It was cloudy but did not rain till about 7pm. We road the river ride twice and never had to get off. The animals were very frisky. We also had no problem getting last minute reservations for Alfradoes. We walked right into Cape Mays. The MK had postings out to what reasturants had reservation space. There seem to be plenty for the last minute where are we going to eat people like me. To all of you that are going soon have no fear. No reason not to have a great time.

Glad you had a great time and that the crowds were fine. How was the progress on the Castle these days.? Were the FP's still operating as normal for most rides.

FP working great as for the castle looks the same, no progress. Waiting for the Million wishes to start. woo hoo:cool1:

We also just got back last night (Friday) - were scheduled to depart on Wednesday, but Southwest cancelled all their flights due to Ernesto. As OP reported, it turned out that Ernesto just brought a light rain to Orlando, nothing more...weather was worse yesterday when we actually did fly out!

Crowds weren't bad all week (Friday to Friday), but were especially light on Wednesday. Everything was a walk-on, and they were allowing re-rides on Splash and Buzz (probably more rides than that, but those were the ones we were on when the offer was made). We went for Magical Beginnings (and we don't have a preschooler - flame away!) and the kids (ages 8 and 14) walked on to Dumbo...never thought I'd see the day :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Should add that Splash was also allowing re-rides at 9:30 AM on Friday (9/1) morning...we left park at 11 AM to go to the airport, and crowds were much lower than I remember at this time previously.

We went three years ago during this same time and found shorter park hours (MK closed at 7 every night but Saturday) and only one MK Spectro Magic parade and fireworks show (at the time it was Fantasy in the Sky). This year, they ran Spectro and Wishes every night. That was a last minute change - when I checked the Disney website right before leaving (8/22), they were only supposed to run 8/27.

We had a fabulous time! For you people going in September, I'm sure you will, too!

Glad to hear about the crowds! And am also glad you all had a good time there! :)

We did EPCOT on Wednesday and everything was a walk-on, even SOARIN' :thumbsup2 .

I can't believe Dumbo was a walk-on!!! lol.

We'll be there in 16 days (but who's counting). I hope the crowds stay low.

Mary

Thanks for the report about the crowds! I leave next Sunday!

It started raining before 4pm in Epcot - although it did get heavier later in the evening and was raining really heavily right after Illuminations. All in all it was a good day - short waits and plenty of shopping time - came out with a much lighter wallet. We switched our days around - had planned to go to MK on this time and Epcot on the Thursday, as I thought that Epcot would be a better option in the rain.

We just got back last night and the crowds were very manageable. Wednesday we were at MK and walked on to everything. It felt as though we had the park to ourselves. Where was everyone??? We started off the day at Kona, for breakfast and figured if it was really horrendously bad out, we'd have a resort day...no need. It was great. The whole week seemed light

Please...........can you provide me more details about the weather?
We were planning to arrive the last week in August but we chickened out.
Might try again next year.

I am going to guess and say high 80's evenings were nice. It rains once a day for about a half hour. Cools things down. The heat makes the pools more enjoyble. I live in Fl though and don't mind the heat. I hate the cold.:)

It was really hot for us. It rained a little each day and seemed to get more humid at night. We had our misters and drank water. I made sure to clip up my hair each day which helped keep me cool. We also took a break in the afternoon. We stayed at Pop and the pool was too hot that it didn't really cool me off. The kids liked it though. I still would go back during this time because there was no wait for any rides so you didn't have to wait in the heat to ride anything. Also the Free Dining was great during this time. The rides, stores and restaurants are all air-conditioned so that helped. The temps were around 92/94 each day. I don't like the heat, but I found the heat to be manageable.

We just got back last night.
We found the crowds to be ok too.
We walked on to lots of things, especially at MK during the night parade. It was good.
I don't like lots of heat, but found it manageable too. The rains were nice, it still is hot during the rain, not cold like up here!!
We did Epcot on the storm day too, it was good, not busy, fun to watch shows and shop.
It was really hot the day we did BB, our feet were burning on the cement! Love the little feet sprinklers they have all over though!
We did TL on thursday, it rained, but was fun.

I would do this time of year again anytime!

This is good to hear. Hurricanes and tropical storms aside, I really do not mind when it rains at Disney. Everything seems fresh, although soggy! We have never been to Disney at this time, I am hopeful that the crowds aren't as heavy as in May. Thanks to all for posting the current conditions.

On Friday (9/1) all the attractions in Fantasyland were walk ons all morning!!!
