We all know what we love: but, what do we NOT like about Disney?

The prices keep rising and rising and rising and rising over the years, yet incomes stay the same the same the same the same, and the value for what we get is really the same. Sure some attractions are added, but the true "value" is the same I think.

I'm afraid if this trend continues, the lower to middle-middle class may be priced out of a Disney vacation, which was NEVER something Walt would have done. I didnt mention lower class because well, they've already been priced out.

Incomes do not stay the same over the years. I did a very quick search of US government census data and found that the US average household income from 1970 to 2003 increased by close to 25% on an inflation adjusted basis. Although Disney's prices have certainly gone up over the years, I don't know how those price increases compare to inflation rates.

I hear you! The thing that really bothered us this past trip (Oct. 04) was that on early entry mornings, there'd be busses for every OTHER park (way too early, since those were opening regular times) and NO busses for the early entry park (easily waited 30 minutes, just so the bus could get really crowded with other anxious families)! And we were at the Poly so we were paying big bucks and had (foolishly) hoped for better bus service....

Though I totally love Disney, I must say my most unfavorite things are smokers who do not adhere to their own smoking sections; as well as the commercialism at Disney. You have McDonalds here, Nestle there, Minute Maid down the road. I understand these places most likely pay the big bucks to be there, but it truly takes away from "getting away from it all" when it is plastered everywhere.

I hate the fact that Disney tried to pawn off such low-quality attractions as Tiki Birds Under New Management, the Carpet of Aladdin, the entire Dinorama area (is that the right name of the roadside tacky carnival section in AK?), Journey Into Your Imagination, Stitch's Great Escape....these attractions have certainly made Walt turn over in his grave. Cheap, pathetic attempts at imagineering! In my opinion, these are not up to the Disney standard or magic.

I don't like the fact that pavillions in Future World in Epcot close because "Disney lost their sponsor." I hate not being able to see Cranium Command. I think it's a lame excuse. We're paying full price, and I don't care if they lost their sponsor - run the darn attraction anyway.

I don't like the fact that Beaches & Cream, which use to have the best burger on property, has resorted to using the square, pathetic Pecos Bill's type burgers.

Again...cheap cheap cheap! Disney should not equal cheap. EVER!

1. The rack rate price of a deluxe resort, non value season.
2. Disney's inability to offer any decently priced room for a family of 5 or more, Hence, we have discovered the swan.
3. When staying at a deluxe, really not feeling like getting your moneys worth. Example" At the Polynesian, anyone can watch the fireworks from the beach, the pool is always crowded, no chairs, I would like a scan gate here, just to make sure who is suppose to be there is there, others should not be there. Sorry, for $300 plus a night the only privledge I feel like I have is the bed lately.
4. The inability to immediately contact the proper person to rectify a problem or situation, usually getting a brush off, etc. Took my dh time and phone call to track down the bus transportation manager from our room last time.
5. Some cm obvious ignorance not to get involved and correct a situation, example in the park" line cutters, smokers, etc. I had to practically have a verbal confrontation with a cm just to get a handicapped seat once. At the Polynesian- screaming child before 6 am, lasting at least almost 2 hours, saw at least 3 cm's in hall and no one did anything. Finally mom came out and I gave her, if looks could kill look. She could have taken the kid down by the marina etc. I dont care if its normal hours, but we were all trying to sleep.
6. Target marketing only certain groups, this could be resort wise, income wise, location wise etc.
7. Akershus- Getting rid of the Authentic Norwegian Food, Cold Buffet to bow down to the almighty disney dollars and the almighty disney princesses to bring disney the almighty bucks. This is a DISGRACE. The whole concept of the food, authentic interaction with norwegian cast members etc. seems lost to disneys bottom line.

I have to admit that my husband is a smoker, I am not and do not like it one bit I have been hounding him for years to stop, the whole time we were dating! anyway just to let you guys know that not all smokers are that bad. My husbad is VERY respectful to non-smokers, I think is because hes married to one( I know I trained him well lol) anyway he dose Not smoke in a resturant at all never has.Neither one of us like to eat while someone is blowing smoke in our face. We always sit in the non-smoking section. He don't like to smoke in the " smoking only sections" he like to be furthuer away from non-smokers than that--expecially childrean---- because he says " the smoke still travels" I have always like that about him.

Something I like to do is --expecially with children --is when I see someone doing something right like smoking in the right place or walking that extra 10 steps to put that small gum wrapper in the trash, I say thank you to them in person, this is a simple type of encouragement and you would be suprised how it will encourage that person to do it agein!

1. I don't like the fact that there are some restaurants which ONLY have characters meals. DH and I don't like a lot of uproar and hoopla when we're eating. I'm very disappointed that Akershus seems to be all character meals now. That was next on our list of places to try, but now it's off the list!

2. I don't like the fact that the smoking area rules are not enforced. If the rules exist, they should be enforced at all times, not selectively or not at all because it might offend the customers. I'm a paying customer too, and I'm offended that the rules are NOT enforced!

3. I don't like the fact that I live so far away! The Jersey Shore is great, but it isn't WDW!

Most of what has been said here I agree with. The prices of food is too high, the park is not as clean as times, etc.

Because of these reasons, and until Disney Co decides to get back to basics...this July trip will be the last one for a long time. If you would have asked this same question to me back in the late 80's through the mid to late 90's I would have said there is not much I dislike.

Based on our trip in 2003 and things I read, I'm a little hesitent about this trip. Maybe we'll go back in 5 years and see all new things.

Like others have said - I really think it is ridiculous what I will pay for a Disney moderate or deluxe resort. Yes - I realize it's all about location - but when I start planning a trip to somewhere other than Disney I'm always astounded by what we are willing to pay for a Disney resort. But hey, if me and people like me wouldn't pay it - they wouldn't charge it so I guess I can't complain.

I hate the way they end a character greeting in the parks. There will be 4 children that have been standing there waiting to say hi to some princess- and a CM looks into their faces and says- they have to go now-sorry. Leaving a handful of childrean crying. Other theme parks have very easily solved this problem by giving the last to be seen in a line a balloon. That way the new children that come up understand they won't get to meet their character at that time.(and they don't waste time standing in line for someone they won't get to meet.)

The Rack Rates for Room Prices ought to be about what you pay with a code, and then offer a 10-25% discount off that if business is slow. The food is way too high and there should be some dining options for a nice table service meal without being a buffet or having a real fancy menu.

1. People who just happen to walk to the bus stop just before a bus arrives and then crowd around the loading spot without regard to the people who have already been standing/waiting at the stop for 15 minutes or more. A little courtesy goes a long way.....I get in defensive mode when this happens and you may have seen me. I won't apologize for this until you apologize for your behavior. Not Disney like....we all are at some point or another.

2. The lines. Hurry up and wait.

Not a big fan of people who claim they never complain. We all do at some point or another. Just because it's about Disney, they get defensive. Disney is NOT paradise. Strap on your Disney blinds and just ignore them if you find it so offensive.
