We all know what we love: but, what do we NOT like about Disney?

To me this problem is so easy to solve! Disney, get more buses! I mean the alternative fixes are so expensive that this is chump change. It's rediculous to have to wait 1 hour to get back to your resort from MK at the end of the night, which is what we endured at CBR. It's rediculous! This is exactly why we started driving ourselves to resorts instead of using the transportation that was so highly touted.

Look at this from Disney perspecitve - sure they could use more buses at peak times (like park closing). What that would mean is hiring lots of new bus drivers and buying lots of new buses (buses that cost probably $500,000 each) to drive at all hours. Disney cannot hire someone to work for two hours to drive that new bus only at peak time. Such drivers would want/ need to work full time to drive that bus. This gets very expensive very quickly.

What I do is either drive my own car, leave the parks before or after peak exit time, or stay at a resort close to the parks.

I especially like staying in the parks after closing - Disney is more than happy to leave the shops in the parks open after official closing time to allow me to spend more money.

What are my pet peeves about WDW - (1) holding back park hours and the new EMH schedules so it is very hard to plan PS and other parts of trip, (2) the cost of hotel rooms (even though it is TOTALLY my choice to pay those prices), and (3) the fact that WDW cannot convince my DW to love the place as much as me and my two DD's do .

There are not many things I can think of that I would even consider on the dislike side of Disney except that in the back of my mind we always have to leave.

I actually think that there's a way to enhance the present system without having to add too much additional overhead. Every time we've gone, we've seen a number of busses half loaded, or nearly empty, while others were filled to the gills and leaving people waiting for the next bus. They need to think about a system similar to the ones they use in NYC or even New Haven, where they can do an analysis of ridership over different periods of operating hours. This way, the could get the most out of the resources they already have.
I spoke to a CM who was logging data manually into a hand-held if they had a system like that already in place, and he said that they were considering it after numerous guest complaints. I assumed that this meant that they're operating without an actual system at the time.

Still and all, it is 'free' (sort-of, if you don't count the premium for the accomodations) service...

The fact that you get no extra benefits for staying at a deluxe resort, at Universal you get to go to a seperate line with your room key. The least they can do at Disney is give you a book of fastpasses. The bus service at WDW is horrendous if you have a child that requires a stroller. I've never ridden a city bus, but it amazes me that Disney thinks that it's ok to get your infant out of their stroller and hold them while the bus moves in the aisle. Of course I continue to go every year but hopefully the'll get with the times. After all as I told a CM while they were shoveling everyone on the monorail for the cost of this vacation we shouldn't be treated as cattle. Honestly I do love Disney.

In 2003 we (4 adult, 5 children) had a 2 1/2 hour ride from MK to CBR. We had lost track of time in the CR and the MK was well past closing. We hopped a bus and needed to head to DTD to then catch a bus to CBR. We then realized we were on a type of sight seeing tour after hours. We saw AKL, FW, DTD and several other resorts before our stop. We made it an adventure and we still talk about it today. The kids were tired but I guess because we had a positive attitude everything was OK.

I see your point, but from an economics perspective you have to weigh the Marginal Cost Analysis. This means that you may have to spend more money but, do you lose more money by not spending that money? I think so. I think they should hire more drivers , not just for peak hours but in general. It's still not very efficient during the day.

I think many, such as myself, see it better to stay in a nicer room off site for the same price as staying on site. My major perk was the idea of not touching my car, but I ended up having to drive everywhere to avoid waiting for a long time. Therefore to me there was not much if any benefit to staying on site considering I got a room for the same rate off site that was twice as large and I can get to and from the parks quicker. For this reason (even if not you or millions of people), Disney can and likely is losing money from an economics perspective considering that some people avoid staying onsite for this reason (like me) and they could actually make more money from me, by spending more money on buses.

1. I hate paying $15.00 for three sodas and two milks.
2. Hour and half bus ride just to get from one resort to another. (always renting a car from now on)
3. Sitting in a restaurant at 9:00 pm and watching a family with small kids just coming in to eat. The kids get tired and start whining, the parents just as tired start yelling. Soon everyone around this "happy" family is just as miserable. Do us all a favor and have the kiddies in bed at this time!! Not just starting dinner.

4. My last complaint is that I plan the trip for over a year and seems like two years before it arrives. Then we get to the parks and Father Time steps on the gas pedal and the trip is over in a flash.

No worries civil, that was my point, being from the Jersey shore, you can appreciate what people spend to come here, and while I find it ridiculous, conversely, they probably think I'm nuts for spending the money to go to DW. it's funny you should mention beach tags here in Jersey, I've had people from the southeast and west coast approach me about having to pay to get on the beach. I've argued that point for years, yet no one can give me a logical reason why we do it here, and our beaches are no nicer, bigger or better than anywhere else.

What I really don't like, and don't understand, is that the buses don't run on some type of time schedule. For example, once I was in a hotel gift shop and went outside to wait for the bus to MGM at 12:15. The bus didn't arrive until 12:40, so that's 25 minutes of waiting for me. Now, had I known that the MGM bus would arrive at 12:40, I could have stayed in the gift shop longer, and (Hey, Disney!) might have spent more money there. Why can't Disney have some type of bus schedule, like cities do, at least for some routes/times.

Rude CMs.
There were some CMs at the Main Street Bakery who were probably the rudest CMs I had ever come across. We walked in to get some fruit and when were the only ones in the bakery. Right when we walked to the counter these girls started talking to each other about "Oh yeah I'm off now" and they just let! They could of at least helped us. There was one other guy who wasn't off yet and kept talking to them and ignored us, "So you're off now, I wish I was off." He kept talking to them about who knows what and we were standing there waiting for someone to help us. So I spoke up and said I would like mixed fruit. The guy just looked at me and ignored me. I kept repeating myself and he FINALLY came over and rolled his eyes!!! I've never came across a CM who was like this, ever! I told him what I would like (I was being very nice, so I don't know what his problem was!) and he didn't know what I was talking about?? I showed him by pointing and he didn't get it?? I've never meet anyone who didn't know what mixed fruit was? So he slowly goes over to where the fruit is kept (he obviously didn't want to help) and would look at one and another and I tried to show him what I wanted. He took forever and was so unfriendly and rude. UGH! This was my first trip to WDW, so it sort of ruined the moment of being in Disney.

Sorry I had to vent about that one time. Thankfully I never came across any other rude CMs while at Disney.

The only thing I had a problem with at Disney was some kid threw up at breakfast at the Poly...a day later my 3 kids got sick. A CM came by to wipe it with a mop but not disinfect or anything.

While staying at the Poly we asked if they has a thermometer to take the kids temp (they were very hot) but they didn't have one on site. The CM said if I thought they were hot I could get a txi to a clinic near by. They were very rude & wanted me to just go away...

I did find the strip that goes on the child's head which is useless for an accurate temperature. After my son got sick in the room I felt bad for the mess & called to housekeeping for lysol so I could clean up after him..the acted like they never heard of such a thing! I asked for anything to get rid of germs..even bleach..still they had no clue. Ummm for a deluxe room (for any room) I think they should know how to handle a sick kid (or kids in my case). The CM's were so unhelpful that I would not go back there if I got a $55 a night deal.

I really don't think Disney pricing is sooo bad. Yes it is a lot but my local Six Flags costs around $50 for entry, $7 parking and $5.00 dollar hotdogs etc. I'm planning a trip to Yellowstone next year and for $65 you don't even get a bathroom. You have to spend more for that Anyway the only thing I don't like about Disney are the people who pass judgement on all other parents. If that were my child, or I would never,...... Unless you know the family or situation can you really judge? My son is Autistic and you wouldn't believe the looks we get sometimes.

2.Stroller Terrerists-Those people in fantasy land who like to run you over with their huge double strollers! A lot of times it looks like they don't even have 2 kids or 1 kid for that matter.

My understanding is that, other than the bus to Blizzard Beach/AK, this loop has been broken up.

This has already been mentioned, but . . .

I don't like (hate is too strong a word) that I can't afford to stay on-site because I have a family of 6. We would love to stay on-site someday (and will), but even if I went to one of the All-Star resorts, I would have to pay for 2 rooms, which would run me close to $150 per night. We are fortunate to have a situation where we can stay in Kissimmee for free, but would love to stay on-site some. Wish Disney would come up with something like an Extended Stay America (obviously nicer and more "Disneyfied") for large families to stay in without charging $200-$250 per night.

There is nothing Disney-related I don't like. Other WDW vacationers are another story: rude teens, out of control kids, stroller Nazis, oblivious walkers, etc. Know what I mean?

Because right now the system is very inefficient and they know they'd never be able to keep to the schedule. I think a problem solved is hiring more drivers and getting more buses.

The money you spend is really money saved as more customers are going to be willing to stay on site and use Disney transportation while some stay offsite, knowing they can save money and still get to and from parks quicker than on site.

Think about this: It's not uncommon to waste 2 hours of your day waiting for buses, when you add it all up. Think of that on a 7 day vacation........................it would not be too unlikely to spend 10-14 hours of your vacation waiting on buses. Just think of how much of your vacation that is............That's almost an entire day in the parks.
