Sept. 29 - Day 5 (the wedding day!!)
the wake up call got me up at 5:45 AM. hair and make up were supposed to be at the room at 6. rob got his things together and went over to dan's room to get ready. my sister heather showed up at 5:45 when the wake up call went off. she was getting her hair and make up done, too. we waited for hair and make up. at 6:30, no sign of hair and make up. i called Val and told her what happened. 15 minutes later, hair and make up showed. they started right away. tina came to my room to watch. at 7 AM, a woman from the tux shop where rob got his tuxes came to the room to steam the dresses. she left shortly after she was done. the woman that did my hair, lisa, put it up like Belle in BATB. she put the tiara in and then the veil when she was done. heather's hair and make up was done at the same time as mine. lisa helped set up my dress with the puff and all. i stepped into my dress and put it on. after it was zipped up, everyone started taking pictures, including lisa. shortly after hair and make up left, i called up the rest of the female bridal party to come to my room to get dressed. i put on my jewelry and was ready to go.
once we left the room, i realized i left my mickey dolls in the room. i was using the mickey doll in a tux as part of the ceremony. i had no key to get in so we rushed to the front desk to get another key made. at the same time, tina and heather went to the gift shop to find replacements. no luck. rob's dad came back empty handed saying that the key wasn't working. the bus was waiting for us outside and i didn't want us late for my photo session. the bus that they sent was a
disney cruise line bus, which i found really odd.
on the way to the GF, the bus played disney music. so naturally, i sang along to every song. we get to the GF and Randy Chapman, our photographer, boarded the bus to meet me. we waited until we were told to come out of the bus. they were making sure rob was at the pavilion. once we were cleared, i got off the bus and randy started taking pictures. we went inside the GF and headed to the staircase. my flower girls had cinderella wands to wave down the aisle. randy gave me the wands to pose with. at the same time, rob's dad went to the GF gift shop to find the mickey dolls. with luck, he did. at one point of the session, randy told me to face my back to him and look over my shoulder. when i did it, i saw frances sitting in her carriage looking scared. so, i started singing, "I want to be loved by you" to her. randy laughed and said, "you're going to be fun to work with." i continued to pose with the wands anyway. also, randy gave me the roses that we were using in the ceremony as well to pose with. randy took some pictures of nora and frances hugging me. the poor things were terrified of getting next to me because they didn't want to step on my dress. so, i picked them up and hugged them. randy took me outside and posed for some more pictures. we went back inside and took some final shots. val came up to me and said we were heading over to the pavilion. we got into her cadillac and she drove us to the pavilion. randy took some more pictures of me as i headed down the bridge to the pavilion. i went into my vestibule where nora and frances were waiting with their mommy. nora was crying because the tiara was hurting her head. tammy took them outside for some fresh air. i went to the bathroom with some assistance from heather. then, i settled in the vestibule holding my mickey doll just waiting to be told, "it's time."
we got lined up to start the ceremony. the ceremony started at 10 AM. rob's parents walked me down the aisle. when it was my turn, the music started and everyone stood up. camera lights were flashing a mile a minute. i saw rob at the alter and immediately my eyes started to water. i kept looking at the cameras to push the tears back. when we got to the alter, rob came down the stairs to get me. we went up the stairs and started the ceremony. rob couldn't stop smiling at me. when rob started talking, my chin started to quiver. so, to keep myself from crying right there, i looked out the window and stared at the castle. that helped me a lot!
after ron's speech, which was beatiful by the way ( about love, friendship, loyalty), it was time for the vows. rob said his first. i didn't notice that he had a mic on until he spoke. then it was my turn with my vows. my vows were longer than rob's. i cried towards the end of my vows. i said, "even if, God forbid, i pass before you, i will wait for you by the pearly gates because i don't want to go to Heaven without you." that made me cry. i heard some sniffling when i cried.
we exchanged rings shortly after the vows were said. then we did a rose presentation. we give each other a rose and say this beatiful speech to go with it. i remember saying i was going to take the rose and put it in water and watch it bloom. and i remember rob saying he was going to give me a rose every year as a symbol of his love for me.
after the rose presentation, ron finished up the ceremony and pronouced us husband and wife. when he said that, i gasped. we kissed and rob dipped me. everyone clapped and cheered. we turned around and faced everyone as ron said, "for the very first time, i'd like to introduce mr. and mrs. robert mcmahon." everyone clapped and took pictures left and right.
after the ceremony, randy took us back inside for pictures. we also went outside for pictures. once the pictures were over, we all headed on the bus and went to the Atlantic Dance Hall for our reception.
rob's friend joey MCed the introductions. once we got to the table, our wedding song, Shania Twain's "From This Moment" started to play. after the song, we sat down and dan did the toast. then, he danced with his wife to their wedding song, "I Have But One Heart." their anniversary was on Sept. 27. food was put out and everyone got their food. the food was delicious, especially the new york steak.
on our table, i noticed this book that had a card with our names on it. i thought this book was a photo album. the binder read, "Disney Fairy Tale Weddings," there was a bow with mickey heads on it, and a picture of Cinderella and Prince Charming. i opened up the book and to my surprise, found two dress watches in it!! the face plates had the castle on it. i showed it to rob and he was impressed. i read the card and the watches were from Val.
shortly after dinner, the DJ,
Scooter, started playing fast music to get everyone on the floor. unfortunatly, it wasn't working. i started to get worried. then, he introduced a song called "The Burger Dance." i never heard of it before. he showed us how to do it. it was just a lot of clapping. he even wore a burger hat on his head. i remember the words were pizza hut, kentucky fried chicken and mcdonalds. you clap in the air while saying pizza hut, then flap your arms like a chicken to KFC, then make the golden arch to mcdonald's. i laughed throughout the entire song because it was so silly! people started getting on the floor to do this crazy dance.
it came time for the cake cutting. the cake was absolutely beautiful. it had a white frosting with a white chocolate cinderella's castle cake topper. Scooter played the music that you hear during football pre-game shows. i had to laugh and give him credit for that. we smushed the cake in each other's faces. boy was that cake delicious. it was yellow cake with chocolate mousse pudding. hmmm hmmm hmm.
joey's three daughters spent most of their time on the floor with me. the four of us had so much fun. during one song, i forget what it was, scooter blew up guitars and tossed them at us. we all had our own guitar and jammed to the fast songs. of course, being that we're all from jersey, he had to play a Bon Jovi song. he played, "You Give Love A Bad Name." that was fun. all four of us jamming to Bon Jovi on our guitars. he took out some huge cowboy hats. one of the girls put it on me and we just kept on dancing.
randy took some pictures of rob and i at the balcony of the ADH. the reception was from 11 to 3. the last dance at the reception was to the song "Promise" from Illuminations.
after the reception, we got on the bus and headed back to ASMo. rob and changed and showered and got things together for our stay at the GF. we took heather, dan and tina to MK. i took heather on POTC, saw Cinderella's Surprise Celebration Show, went on Splash Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion.
rob and i had to leave at 7 because we had dinner reservations at V & A's. we rushed back to the hotel and changed. got our things for our stay at the GF and left. once we got to the GF, we checked in and rushed to V & A's because we were running late. we got seated at V & A's with no problem. we were only 10 minutes late. our waitress, Victoria, gave us our menus that had our names on it and congratulations written on it. we looked through the menu and picked what we wanted. this was a 6 course meal by the way. once we ordered, we nibbled on some bread and sipped our wine. the food was served in very small portions but was absolutely yummy! i was just about full when it came to the entree, and i had filet minon (sp?). i managed to squeeze in a little dessert but it was too much.
the manager let us keep our menus and gave me a rose in honor of our wedding day. he also gave us a chocolate bar that was in the shape of a card. i haven't eaten it yet by the way.
after dinner, we headed to our room. we were on the 4th floor at the main building of the GF. our room was small but that was because the king size bed and the dresser with the tv and VCR in it was taking up a lot of the space. we settled in the room, watched TV to see what was going on in the morning and called it a night.
