Well Arizona does have good ice tea. I like the Green Tea one myself.

Ok another Akershus fan here. I'll usually hit the koldbordt like 3 or 4 times and the hot section at least twice. Umm...the smoked salmon, the salads, that mashed rutabaga stuff, the meatballs, the pork.....yummy. Ditto on the rice cream, although I'm partial to the flan or whatever the Norwegian version is called. Do I hear WDWWDS banquet at the Akershus?

BTW I heard V&A sucks...never been there myself. But a reliable source said she'd just as soon eat burgers at the Starlight Cafe and stay a couple extra nights in the hotel instead.

I want to try Boma...everyone says that's good. Spoodles is a favorite too. But I've said before....the Reuben sandwich at the Plaza Restaurant is just about the best reuben you'll ever eat.

I've never eaten at Akershus, though I know I would love it. I have a feeling I'll get a chance to eat there soon. Just to try it out before the big meet of course.

I wanted to eat at Boma's when I stayed at AKL. It was vetoed however. Another thing for me to do.

V&A...I have finally decided I HATE stuffy restaurants. I think I'll skip this one.

And the Rueben at the Plaza Restaurant is to die for. YUMMY!!!!

I think the WDWWDS should relocate to...now get this...to FLORIDA!!!!

So am I the only one who likes V&A's? I loved the stuffy atmosphere and the wine pairings are outstanding. That's okay - more for me.
[Slaps my head over and over] Of course - Florida! I'm re-packing my bags right now (and removing the rattlesnake bite kit).
I wish wish wish I could've eaten at Boma last weekend, but I couldn't fit it in. Will you ship me your leftovers, Jas?

I'll also chime in for Boma. As one of the world's pickyest eaters, even I found new and wonderful things to eat at Boma. I just don't eat enough to justify the $23 price tag. They need a "one plate" special.

I also really like Olivias - the Buttermilk chicken is fantastic! Plus a romantic cruise to DD afterwards is nice; Boatwrights is always good; Le Celliar - UMMMM Pretzel Bread!!!; Beaches & Cream for the BEST cheeseburgers; Grand Floridian Cafe for Citrus French Bread; Ribs at Concourse Steakhouse; Fried Chicken at 50's Prime Time (and snappy green beans!)...

OK, now I'm really hungry!!!

Can I add that one of the most filling and surprisingly wonderful dishes at MGM is at the ABC Commissary -- it's the Feijoda (#3). Feijoda consists of black beans, roast beef, and sausage draped over large-grain white rice. It is served with the beans and meat in a bowl and the rice on a plate, so you can choose how much to pour onto your rice. I have yet to finish a serving of this stuff - it is soooooo good. I can also vouch for the Tabbouleh Wrap, but I understand it's an acquired taste.
I second the Pretzel Bread at Le Cellier - to me it's better than the Cheddar Cheese Soup. And the Wet Burrito (WDWWDS, after all) at Cantina de San Angel is perfect (not too much of that Americanized cheese-stuffed Mexican interpretation). Add a Lime Margarita to that and you are in Mexican Heaven.
And don't you ever, ever pass up a Cannoli ("Leave the gun, take the cannoli.") at the Pasticciaria in Italy.
See? I could go on and on and on.........

Cannoli - oh yeah!! But Alfredo's was a major disappointment for me. I agree on the Fried Chicken at 50's PTC. And don't forget the roast beef sandwich au jus on sour dough bread at Olivia's! Now if they could only handle a bigger crowd!

Who ate at Jiko's for Thanksgiving? Was it Sandi? Yet another place I want to try. And then there's the mac and cheese there that Jas was raving about...umm.

Now how about "fast-food" places? I love eating at Columbia House...upstairs, in the overpass between Fantasyland and the HM area. And I'll always like the Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland cuz it brings back memories of when it was the Tomorrowland Terrace with the live performances. And I still like Tusker House even though they removed the fried chicken from the menu.

I satisfied my fried chicken strips craving at Columbia Harbor House on Sunday morning. I had never eaten there before, and I was second in line (it opens at 10:30 a.m.) and took my food upstairs and had a grand time sitting by myself, looking out the window at everyone streaming into Fantasyland from Liberty Square.

The fish is good there too. You just can't beat looking out those little windows upstairs at the other park guests. There you can play the age old games like, "Which guest is wearing the most uncomfortable shoes" "Who's dressed the sluttiest" "Which kid is approaching meltdown"

People watching in WDW...one of the unheralded gems you can experience in the parks.

There's nothing like the feeling of sadistic, voyeristic pleasure of seeing a kid on the verge of getting beat by their heat stroke suffering parents.

Ahh...see? JW knows what I'm talking about.

Watching heat stroke suffering parents and/or couples go at it is also right up there in entertainment value. I actually saw a couple have to be physically restrained by other family members over a lost Fast Pass.

On that note, I think we need to observe a moment of silence. Mr. Rogers died today. I hear the little trolley car is devastated.

... on H.R. Pufnstuf? I watched the E True Hollywood Story on that show. Did you know they had an indoor theme park and some sort of accident happened and it had to close down (no financials to back it up)? Odd, eh?

The only other person who was on Puf'n Stuff that I remember was Witchie-Poo.

Theme park accident, huh? Was it a beheading?

Ot: You always have to have that camera ready to catch hte antics of Punch and Judy.

AP: I saw that special also,the park was in the Omni Center in Atlanta. It is also where the Atlanta Hawks basketball team played. Turned out they built this huge state of the art (for it's time) building in a bad part of town and I think if I remember correctly that kept crowds down also.

Aaah - I see I'm not the only E True Hollywood Story geek. My memory is fuzzy on the specifics, but I can picture the park itself and everything. Good save, Jwill! I guess Mr. Green Jeans wasn't a favorite of mine, but I did so love the Captain. Can you believe I would get up so early and watch the test pattern on the tv until Captain Kangaroo came on? What an idiot I was.

Actually it was the vertical lines (one pink, one blue, one yellow, one red, one white, one black) and the thick black bar plastered horizontally across the bottom of the screen with the white "cursor-type thing" shaped like a square slowly inching across the black bar. Holy cow that was over 20 years ago and I still remember that? Somebody hand me the Genius Hat, 'cause I'm wearin' it this afternoon!
By the way, I just posted a very positive review of Cartier Towncar on the Transportation Board. Seriously, if you guys need to hire a towncar when you go to WDW, get these people, I was treated like a princess and we all know how I feed off of that like a leech at a nude beach.
