I just have to say this…I now have a new reason to not watch American Idol…I just realized because of the decision to stretch this Kareoke contest to 2 hours…the best show on TV, "24", will be off the air for 3 weeks…I don’t want to wait three weeks….I want new episodes of "24" NOW!
I call upon the WDWWDS to draft a resolution demanding that Fox move American Idol to another night to clear the airwaves for Jack Bauer and the rest of the CTU…BRING BACK "24"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know - I honestly can not comment about 24, as I don't watch it (although I am glad that you are enjoying such successful show - carried by a Canadian actor)

However...

I back Higgs on this decision 100%...is it just me - or did you guys cringe when you heard that they are going to stretch the show to 2 hours in order to fill in all those stupid commercials? Uggghhh....does the show NEED to be any longer then an hour - I mean how much singing torture can the viewing public handle?!?

BTW - don't forget all AI players - to watch the show, tonight Kelly Clarkson (the original American Idol) will be the show's celebrity guest and the theme will be *Music from the Movies*... (ok Kelly might not be that much of a celeb - but Billy Joel is going to be on a future episode...)

and may we all point out to OT after tonight's show how much more of a *natural beauty* Kelly is to Goulia-Julia...

Hey, there's still one more hour for me to keep voting for Julia!! Don't count her out just yet!! Wasn't she phenomenal?!? None of those amateurs could even come close to her fancy dance moves and that impeccable voice!! Vote for Julia!!!!!

Having said that...I think Julia is gonna get the boot because people in America are 99.8% tone deaf and they can't appreciate the amazing voice of Ms. DeMato.

It's going to come down to Clay vs. Ruben. I think Julia is just too good for this competition.

I am so with you. I wrote last week that I had a set of glasses shatter, well all that I have remaining in the house now is Dixie cups. Thank God that it was not cold last night - need to replace somw windows through out the house thanks to the little dude.

Wow your weight statment really sucks. I take it you are a perfect weight. Kelly (minus all that makeup last night) is a "real" woman. Would you rather her present an anorexic image? Eating disorders are real, and young girls are bombarded with these way too skinny images every day. It makes them form an opinion that this is how they are supposed to look. And if they don't fit that "image" it hurts their self esteem and can lead to distorted body images, which then leads to an eating disorder. That is so sad. Kelly has a little poochy tummy, most women have a little poochy tummy (I know I do), it's the genetic makeup of the female species. I know I should have just ignored you, but this subject is very near and dear to me. To me she is MY IDOL, becuase she is not perfect, nor does she try to be. Higgs you really need to think about what you are saying.

Do you think Ruben needs to lose weight? Or is that only a female requirement to fit the "perfect" image. I pray you don't have a daughter or ever have a daughter if this is how you feel.

Higgs, Higgs, Higgs....first of all - Kelly did NOT have that much make-up or look that *dolled up* at ALL when she started...this is EXACTLY the problem with "The media *wanting* women to look like anorexic hookers" (if reference to this, see: all 5 of the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Pam Anderson and MOST other famous females...)

Furthermore Higgs - I hate to say it - but contrary to YOUR belief Kelly does NOT need to lose a few pounds (see anorexic thing above) that is simply the media FORCING the *ideal female* image in your head (see overnight success Kate Winslet in this case) And YOUR country proved that by voting Miss Clarkson as their American Idol (they saw her AS beautiful because she was natural)

IMHO - in today's day in age of lyposuction, implants, make up - I thought that Kelly was a *breath of fresh air* as the American Idol or rather (American role model) for not being so what media deems as *perfection...* Hence the reason that Clay SHOULD win (the American public is smarter then the media - they can see Clay for the things that SHOULD matter - HIS TALENT!!!! And sorry to say - but IMHO - I agree with the girl that shouted it out on the show - there is something about Clay that IS indeed sexy..!

And yes Jas - why IS it that Ruben's weight was *ok* - is it because he is a guy?!!? Talk about a double-standard!!!

OK…I stand very corrected…my humble apologies…for a really bad joke…
First I should explain myself…over the course of watching the show…I noticed that Simon would comment on certain contestants weight…and I couldn’t see what he was talking about…so that’s where the (which I will now freely admit was a) tasteless and unfortunate joke came from…
I’m actually not sure where it came from…I’d like to blame it on an evil twin…but it was just me… I actually agree w/ Jas and Madonna…and ask them (and everyone else) to accept my apology about my comments about Kelly’s appearance…I am actually embarrassed that I typed that…I think those of you who know me know I usually bend over backwards to be fair..and this was one time that I got out of hand…I am sorry

Higgs, do you think that Kate Winslet needs to lose weight too?

These women are real my man and I am not just saying that to kiss up to the ladies on the board, I honestly believe it. I remember hearing all that crap about Kate being to fat and I was like, 'man, she's hot’ As for Kelly, I agree 100% about too much make up, but losing weight, no way. Personally I am sick of TV adds where the models look like they can barely stand because of how pathetically thin they are, Kelly is refreshing, gorgeous, hot and sexy. Take a look at some of the glamour women of yester-year, they were real, sexy and beautiful. As for Ruben, he needs to lose weight and I only say this because of health reasons.
