The College UPA finals (Ultimate Frisbee) are in Austin this year the weekend of May 22nd and my son's team, Cornell, should be there. I plan on flying down to cheer them on.

Sorry, but my bottom three are Julia DeMato, Corey Clark, and Trenyce. The absolute worst performance is a tie between Corey and Trenyce. It just goes to show that not everyone can tackle all types of music successfully.

Now - onto the show:

I was VERY disappointed how many contestants sang a slooooow song yet again. Ruben, Carmen and Josh rocked the place!! (ummmm...hello, the theme was country *rock* - not country *put me to sleep for the next hour*...)

on a side note - IMHO, it was TOTALLY unfair for Simon to say to Clay: *You could switch songs from last week and you wouldn't know the difference*...although I agree with this comment, the same SHOULD of been said to Trenyce, Kimberly Locke, Corey and Ricki...all their songs sounded slow and boring again as well...

Rickey - ummm....since when is the Luther Vandross sound considered country rock?!?!? Did he sing that before cuz it sounded exactly like last week...and the week before....and the week before.

Corey - since when is 70's pop considered country rock? You know what he sounds like? My cat got run over when I was a wee lad. Sad sad thing....and it made a wailing which sounds a lot like Corey.

Carmen - it was rock country but it sucked.

Clay - sounded WAY too much like the mouse song, even had the "wishing on a star" line in it. Oh he'll still be in the top two, but he could have tried a little better to be "country"

Trenyce - whoa too bad Whitney Houston doesn't sing country, ya sucked dawg.

Josh - the only one besides Ruben and Carmen to really pick a rock country song. Good, but he should have done less runnig around cuz he sounded out of breath.

Kimberly L - at least it was country. I still don't like her.

Kimberly C - not nearly as good as stupid Paula and ONJ were saying. Not very country either. Better than

Ruben - that was perfect.

Julia - I STILL say they are real. I recorded the show and I came to that conclusion long before I wore the tape out. At least she sang a song by a country artist. She had much better stage presence and her singing was better than Corey, Carmen and Trenyce. And guess what?? Her call line was busy for the first HOUR after the show. I only managed to phone in 50,000 times this week.

Bye bye Corey....or should I say "Fluffy"?

Geez Madonna, it's barely past 8:00. Chill out.

Julia, buh bye. And I'm not saying this cuz it's Julia. At first glance last night she seemed like she did ok. But then when they recapped at the end, it really showed how much better everyone else did. She really is not on the same level. I swear I kept an open mind. But the recap really showed a lot.

Josh was awesome. It wasn't the running around that left him out of breath. Try singing that song and getting every word out at the beginning. It is darn near impossible. Okay I must have a bumpkin confession moment. I own many Garth Brooks CDs. I could say I went through a country music phase but that's not the truth. I like Garth Brooks, I still listen to the CDs. Anyway, that is one of my favorites, and just to ATTEMPT it, is very gutsy. Plus Josh looked great in the hat. He got a couple votes for that alone.

Ruben was the best last night. Besides that being a "fun" song, he did just a great job on it. Plus with all his representin' you know that was coming from the heart!

Clay, not at all impressed this week. Sorry.

I thought Kimberly C did good. Trenyce did good. Even Carmen did good (that is not an easy song). Come on Kimberly L. did really great. The best female of the night, I think.

Corey, dear Lord, I like that song, he ruined it. I seriously plugged my ears with my fingers (I guess I could have muted it, but that was the fastest way to kill the sound).

Rickey, I can't even remember what he sang. But it was still better than Julia and Corey.

Edited to add: Simon was sure out of sorts this week. And his comment about Paula being drunk was right on except it was the she was high on drugs not drunk. Wow was she a mess last night.
