Day 2-- Wed 3/10

Well we are all up and ready on time. Even MIL who does literally spend 3 days in her PJ's in bed at a time. When we got to the TTC we were parking in the handicapped lot. I actually couldn't believe how far of a walk this was. Getting into MK was no problem. at all. I heard lots of grumblings from people regarding the bag checks. I felt really bad for the CM's. It's their jobs, why make it more difficult on them.

We get through the gates and MIL wants pictures of everything. Only she wants DH to take them while she rests in some shade. Did I mention, we just got here and it's only 9am. So DS and I do some character meets and are hoping to find some more unusual characters. They had 2 of the Country Bears out. DS has never had pics w/ them before so he goes to get in line for the light blonde one. He walks away after some teen "flirting". After a few minutes he doesn't come back. Rather he started another line elsewhere. The funny thing is, this will be the first of 3 times this happens to DS w/ this same character. He never did get the pic or autograph and has decided now he never wants to.

Anyhow, we decide we are gonna all go together to Philharmagic together. There is no wait and we are taken right in. Great show!! I think that this is some of Disney's best. Afterwards. We want to make it to Toontown close to opening for pictures w/ characters. However, DS & I are determined to ride Peter Pan. We never do this one because of the wait. So we run over there and the wait is only 5 min. So DH and MIL head to Toontown to meet us. We loved this ride, I was worried I thought it might seem outdated, but we really enjoyed it.

The whole point of going to Toontown was to get pics w/ DH and his mom. I think he was trying to relive his childhood w/ her or something. They never once went on any vacation when he was growing up, nor did they ever really "do anything" (like zoo's or parks). Anyhow, MIL decides she's gonna wait at the smoking break-- because of all the "little brats" running around. I was fuming. First, we were in Toontown for her (she said she wanted to see characters). Second-- this is Disney-- a place for big and little kids. Last-- it's Toontown-- kind of a "kid's place" in my opinion. Anyhow, a real treat was that there were a lot of characters out by the train. I have never seen this before. So it was really neat. Also, Snow White and all 7 dwarves came out. They assembled and you could take photos of them. (not w/ them though). We looked all over at MNSSHP for them and never saw them, so this was really great.

Next, MIL wanted to ride the train, but refused to leave the ECV. In her mind someone was going to steal it. So, she just decided not to ride the train. My patience w/ her was already wearing thin and it was still early.

We decided to hit up Haunted Mansion next. MIL wanted to take her EVC and use the exit for the entrance. DH wouldn't let her. He wanted her to get up and walk alittle as well as go through the preshow. The wait was only 5 minutes. However, she announced she was exhausted afterwards. He tried preparing her for the moving sidewalk. I don't think she was paying attention because the look on her face was priceless. I didn't actually think her and DH were gonna load in time, but the did. I think DH practically shoved her into the buggy. I guess she liked it--- she didn't complain so thats always a good sign.

Next was POC. She was really mad about that "drop" . Thought it was terrible we didn't tell her. I actually forgot about it. Last year we took my infant neice on this ride. So I figured it would be okay for MIL. She didn't agree.

You got to see the dwarfs- I LOVE the dwarfs. I think you need to take a note from Delswife and push the wheel chair in one direction and RUN in the other.

OK kilee...call me mean but I am loving this....we had the MIL -at-Disney-trip-from-hell last November and I am chuckling all the way through this one!!

I think our MILs were twins seperated at birth or something...everything is always about them!! My MIL would NEVER dream of doing something that SHE did not want to do...too bad about the rest of you.

We took her and her husband (who actually enjoyed and appreciated the trip) with us all expenses paid and she did nothing but whine for 4 solid days. It was my DH's birthday trip and she never even told him happy birthday, much less got him a card or gift!! (her own son...can you believe it??)

We had his BD dinner at O'Hanas and she sat there the whole time telling us how if we wanted a "really good meal" we should have gone to Cracker Barrell !!! (and there was "too much commotion", there wasn't enough light, she didn't like people bringing her food on "sticks" and on and on)...by the end of the meal I was ready to throw her off the monorail tracks!!!

Anyways I am loving your pain!!! At least we can say we have done it and will NEVER have to do it again!!
