WDW Vow Renewal? Yes Please!

I'm new here so first I would like to say: Hi There! I hope I'm not breaking any etiquette rules here by posting a new thread as my first post..yikes! If so I apologize, but I'm just so excited...yay!

I've been reading up on WDW vow renewals, specifically the escape package. I was wondering, can I extend the cake cutting to two hours total (in addition to the ceremony), and have a sort of 'cocktail hour' ish type thing? Nothing too crazy, but maybe some nice hors douvres and a cheese platter (dare I suggest a limited beer/wine/soda combo?)to go along with the cake and champagne? I know I can add a lunch at a separate location, which sounds great, but I didn't want to move to too many locations. It also sounds like it could be a bit formal which I wanted to get away from because my first wedding was very formal (and stuffy too)...I thought the pavilion for the ceremony and then the commanders terrace (?) for the cake cutting, but perhaps just to ask to stay there a bit longer for the other nosh foods and relaxing while we munch and get our bellies nice and full in a casual way before going on with the rest of the day? (instead of a sit down type thing..)It would seem like it would be a good idea since I would only be 'taking up' a single location and then once we were done, it was done. If anyone has any information if this is 'doable' please let me know! My main question is will they be willing to (for a fee of course) allow us extra time on the terrace to do this??

I think I've seen something like this at the Yacht Club Gazebo and Sea Breeze Point where there's a little bit of a yard for the setup, but I don't recall seeing this at the wedding pavilion. Good luck! Hope your planner can work something out for you.

The cake cutting for the Escape Wedding Pavilion package is done elsewhere, I think it's still at Commander's Terrace; the outdoor Escape ceremonies have the cake cutting right at the site...at least I think

I know they definitely don't do the cake cutting at the Pavilion. I think that is the only Escape location that they move you to a different location for the cake...hoping they can fix me up with some extra time and food!

I hope your wedding is magical! I saw that you are planning too! Just remember to do everything YOUR way! Don't compromise; otherwise 15 years later you will be heading back down the aisle to get the moments you wished you'd had the first time!! Trust me, I know
