WDW virgins no more! The first day of our first trip :-)

So, I'm sitting here watching the video of you standing in line at the turnstiles and tearing up. Then going down Main Street, the tears are starting to come. Then the Poop. That wasn't so magical, but what a funny memory.:rotfl:

Your pics are great and love the angle you got of the castle (the one posted right before Molly being stickerfied!).

All these trips and we have never been on the Carousel.:sad2:

Can't wait to hear more!

If you are getting a picture of Molly's personality now you are probably pretty accurate. She's sweet and precocious and a complete handful. She doesn't have tantrums often, but she's very independent and wants to do what she wants to do. She talks like a 4 year old but she thinks like a 2 year old. Well, actually when I look at other kids she's not really that much of a handful. She just really wants to do her own thing and can't understand why she can't always. This is about the only thing that cause us big headaches.

She sounds a lot like my Cayley especially the "she talks like a 4 year old but thinks like a 2 year old" And wants to do her own thing. I love how passionate Cayley is about life but sometimes it is really tiring. And why is it that when they get tired they also get manic?

Arg!! I don't know! Molly is doing it RIGHT NOW. She only took a 30 minute nap today and earlier she was running back and forth between rooms as fast as she could yelling "watch me!! watch me!!" She wouldn't stop running like a maniac for anything. Oh my gosh :confused3

Maybe my next child will be one of those that actually stops when they are tired. My MIL said my DH would go and go and then just pass out asleep wherever he was when he couldn't go anymore. Molly has not done that once in her entire life. She just goes faster and faster.

Great pics and vids debby! Looks like an awesome start to your trip. I got tears in my eyes watching the castle, opening and fairy godmother vids.

Did the train of characters show up at opening? I didn't hear the train in your video. I'm wondering if they are cutting out some of the opening shows.:confused3

We were up bright an early Wednesday morning for our first ever day at the Magic Kingdom. I think it was the perfect way to start our WDW experience.

We got up at 7:15 and made it to the bus stop around 8:10 or so. We hadn't done as much getting ready for the day the night before as we learned to do later. We made it to the MK around 8:40 and it was pretty crowded. We couldn't make it through the turnstiles. We had no idea what we were waiting for.

We finally heard the opening song and we got through the turnstiles and began our first walk down main street. Its just wonderful, I love main street. We didn't take much time to browse the shops though, we were really wanting to get to Fantasyland.

That was a comical moment :rotfl2:

A couple of views of the castle

We enjoyed the sights on the short walk to Fantasyland. We rounded the castle and ran smack into Cinderella's wicked step mother and step sisters. Our first character sighting! We hopped right in the five minute line. Molly was just a little hesitant to meet them since she knew they were mean to Cinderella. Of course they weren't mean to her. I was wearing my Happy Anniversary pin and Lady Tremaine asked me how many years we'd been married. I told her 4 and she looked critically at my hand and then told me she didn't see 4 carats. Everyone laughed and I told her that was something to take up with my husband :lmao: Maybe it gave him some good ideas, who knows??

039.jpg

We continued on to Fantasyland and walked on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh first. Molly enjoyed it and so did we, very cute. After that we headed over to Cinderella's Carousel. I found Cinderella's horse, but another mother and daughter beat me to it, so we took the horse right behind it, another walk on ride by the way.

Molly's face looked like that quite a bit that first day. She was just taking it all in. She really enjoyed herself, but during each activity she had that look of intense concentration.

Of course Cor saw the Sword in the Stone and had to give it a try. The little boy off to the side had run up just after Cor got up there and his mom of course told him to wait his turn. Cor gave the sword a good yank and it didn't come up so we got our picture and moved on. As we were walking away Cor said "Yeah...I'm ten years old." He thought it was pretty funny that he went ahead and took his turn at the sword instead of letting the little boy go ahead and try.

048.jpg

While we were on the carousel there was a CM who was sticking with one little boy, like for the entire ride. When they got off the little boy met his dad and a couple of little girls and the CM went walking off with them. I saw them a little later and the CM was still with them. Was this some sort of famous person to have a CM taking them around personally? I didn't recognize the guy, but that doesn't mean anything.

Next we hopped over and walked on Snow White's Scary Adventure. I was a little nervous because I'd heard it was actually a bit scary, but its Molly's favorite Disney movie so we couldn't miss it.

047.jpg

Molly said it was a little scary, but she liked it and wanted to do it again. We said we'd wait and try again later, we had other things to try!

We had to make a quick pit stop for Molly and Cory to pose like wild animals.

Another fun picture or two

We went next to It's A Small World. Another walk on! Woohoo! We got in our boat and headed around the world.

I just took pictures of random things throughout the ride.

Here is that blank face again.

After IASW we looked at the line for Peter Pan and decided Fast Passes were the way to go. After having walked on to 4 rides, a 45 minute wait didn't seem like a lot of fun. Our fast passes were for 12:25-1:25 and it was only about 10:15.

We started making our way toward Story Time with Belle and saw The Fairy Godmother behind the castle.

061.jpg

Molly had just gotten a ton of stickers from the DVC guy and she proceeded to plaster then all over herself. I said, "Molly, you are all sticker-fied!" she laughed and said "haha, Mama, I'm all sticker-fied-ed!" Cory and I cracked up.

063.jpg

We waited our time and then Molly got a chance to meet the Fairy Godmother.

Continued in next post (I ran out of room)

Adorable! Can't wait to read more. Where did Molly get the 1st visit button? It will be DS 4 1st visit in 3 weeks.

So we'd just finished watching Story time with Belle and though it was only 11:15 or so we were ready for lunch. We were right across from Cosmic Rays and we knew we needed to use our counter service credits so off we went.

It wasn't very crowded so Cory and Molly sat down at a table and I went back to get our food. I had the roasted chicken and Cory had a cheeseburger. When I had the food Cor wanted to move to the tables closer to the counters because it was too loud down by the anamatronic characters. Not much to say about the food, it was good :goodvibes (we aren't really food critics, haha). Molly wasn't terribly hungry and ate pretty much from the condiments bar. Toddlers are so strange. She ate pickles and tomatoes...whatever kiddo. When we left it was super crowded. We then made a note to ourselves for the rest of the week: early lunches beat the crowds!

one of the only food pics I took all week, my roasted chicken
083.jpg

After that we headed over to Peter Pan to use our FPs. On the way we passed by Alice and the white rabbit. Molly has never seen Alice in Wonderland so we didn't stop, but we snapped a few pics as we walked by.

085.jpg

We waited for 10 minutes or so and we were on our flying boat.

087.jpg

We all enjoyed this ride, especially Cor, he thought it was really neat and well done. Molly liked it too, but there wasn't much this week that she didn't like ;)

Afterwards we checked next door to see when the next showing of Philharmagic was, lo and behold it was just about to start! We went in and grabbed our 3D glasses.

088.jpg

We waiting for five minutes or so for the doors to open...I love how the signs above the doors say they open "automagically."

We all three LOVED this show, absolutely great. Easily our favorite thing we'd seen thus far and that's saying something!

We weren't quite ready to head back to our room for a nap, but all of the lines were a mile long and the FP times weren't late enough for us to use them later that evening so we didn't get any.

We decided to check out Pooh's Playful Spot instead. On our way in we saw these guys off to the side.
090.jpg

We knew we were having breakfast at the Crystal Palace later in the week so we didn't stop. We really didn't do very many character meet and greets unless the line was short. Molly just wouldn't have put up with long lines. We avoided them at all costs all week.

Molly first headed inside the tree.

091.jpg

She was in there for MAYBE a minute and a half before we looked and saw she wasn't there anymore. We started looking around and of course we saw she had found the water.

093.jpg

092.jpg

We caught her and took her shoes off and then let her have at it. It was pretty warm so not a big deal.

We let Molly play for 20 minutes or so and then saw that it was about 1:15 so we went ahead and headed to the bus stop.

We got back to ASMo around 1:50 and went and got in our swimsuits. We went down to the pool by the Mighty Ducks buildings in the hopes that there wouldn't be many people there. Sure enough there were a couple of kids and a couple of adults in the pool and that was it. We got no pics unfortunately.

There was a life jacket sitting there so we put it on Molly and she and I played and after I splashed Cor until he was soaked he got in. He's not much of a pool person so I had to use a little force :rotfl:

We got back in our room about 2:45 and we all laid down. Cor dozed for a little while and Molly sang and jabbered for 10 minutes or so until she fell asleep. Cor and I laid there until we heard a noise outside the door. We'd put our do not disturb sign in the door that morning, but when we got back we hadn't put it back in so the mousekeeper was trying to come in to clean. Cor dove out of bed to keep her from making a bunch of noise getting the door open. He cracked it and said we wouldn't be needing mousekeeping that day so she gave him a bag full of towels and things.

He laid back down and we whispered and giggled for another hour or so and then we woke Molly up to head back to MK for the evening.

Next our evening in Tomorrowland!

Great update. Molly is so cute playing in the water. Funny, she would run away after the water squirted, and then run right back. So cute!

Philharmagic is one of my favorites. Just a great show. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to more, it looks like you had a great trip so far!

Great update! She is so cute running in and out of the water. I love it.

This isn't an update but a question. What do you do when your husband absolutely refuses to consider another Disney trip until 2011?? He just swears up and down it won't be as much fun since we just went, and we'll get bored. He absolutely refuses to even entertain the idea. UGH

Mine is kind of like that too. So I just keep talking about the trip and casually bringing up his favorite parts and reminding him of how much he liked certain things. I show him food pics on the DIS and we laugh about different funny events that happened and before you know it, he starts to come around ;)

Kick him in the butt! LOL1
We have gone 3 years in a row. Each trip has been totally different. DH isn;t a big disney fan, but for the most part enjoys the trips and knows our DD loves it. We try to do some similar stuff and some new stuff each trip. There are still many rides/shows we haven't done. And this year DD was tall enough to ride a few bigger rides. Ther eis just so much to do that it's hard to get bored. And like I said, mix it up. Do different restaurants. Different character meals. Try the Hoop Dee Doo. Try the campfire (one thing I am still determined to fit in our plans some day.
If worse come to worse, make it in Jan of 2011. At least thats not as far as DEc. 2011. LOL! :lmao:

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still working on my TR, but since I still have my internship I have very little free time. My internship ends in 3 weeks (!!!) and then I have finals week so about a month and I'll have lots of free time to work on chapter for the report. So sit tight and soon I'll have the chapters rolling out hopefully two or three times a week!

HELP!!

How can I convince DH to go at the end of September. Like I mentioned before, he's set against it. He thinks we won't have enough to do, though he has started to realize how much we didn't get to do on our trip. He also doesn't want to spend the money, but they are having the free dining deal and a trip for all three of us total would be a little over $1200 for 5 nights, 6 days and the standard dining plan  We could get that paid off by August for sure. Oh my gosh it seems so worth while. He also doesn't think he can use that much vacation time but the way I arranged it we could fly out on Wednesday afternoon so he could go to work that day and then we'd come back on Monday so he'd only use 3 days.

Gosh, there has to be a way to convince him.

Another one addicted.:rotfl: You sound just like the rest of us. Sounds like you have a plan, hopefully he will agree soon. We make a lot of day trips and find something new every time we go. Just remind him that little princess won't always be little.

You just have to keep working on him. Do you have any other vacations scheduled for the summer. If you do, then go over the cost comparison with him. Tell him anything you think he might want to hear. Tell him free dining is a once in a lifetime thing :rotfl2::rotfl2: Tell him you will not be able to vacation during the value season once your daughter is in school. Tell him all the things you want to see and all the places you want to eat on your next trip. Remind me how low the crowds are in September. Just keep workin' it until you wear him down. Remind him that the free dining sells out and you want to get your first/second pick of resorts. Jump up and down and say please....please...please

And most of all.... Good Luck! You can do it!

Awesome pictures! Can't wait to read more, I really want to try ASMo one day, the only value i've stayed in is Pop, Im hesitant for change, ive stayed there 3 times already! lol
