Hi everyone! H & I are huge Disney folk and are finally going to be able to get to DL for the first time next month.

We are going to be in Cali for a family wedding. So due to wedding activities, we will have only 1 day to spend.

It will be H, DD (15 months), myself and possibly my parents. So far we have planned to first hit all the stuff that DL has that WDW doesn't.

Any other suggestions for a first timer? Is one day enough to do both parks? Or should I not waste the $ on the 2 park tix?

TIA

One day is not anywheres near enough to see everything in both parks. There are over 80% as many rides, shows and attractions in two parks as WDW has in 4. The two parks being right next to each other means hopping takes minutes instead of an hour or so on buses, boats etc. at WDW.

However, if going only one day, and able to go from park opening to park closing on a long day (8am-midnight) it could easily be worth getting a hopper ticket. You could do all major rides in both parks and see the early WOC show at DCA and hop to DL to see the late night Fantasmic (better than WDW's!). Aladdin show at DCA is the best stage show Disney has going anywhere. Planning ahead and use of fast passes is essential for a 1 day trip!

Don't discount some of the rides at DL just because they're at WDW! Space Mountain is far superior to WDW's. You sit side by side, smooth track and in car sound like on Rock'n Roller Coaster at WDW. Pirates is considerably longer with many scenes deleted at WDW. Big Thunder is almost identical except the track is reversed in a mirror image so its a different feel.

I agree. Just do Disneyland this time around. I remember my first time as a WDW vet back in 2007. You will simply fall in love with the place. It gives me goosebumps to think Walt lived and walked that park.

Pluse DCA is under major construction so I wouldn't waste your dollars.

Have a blast! Warning! You will want to go back!
