I have looked at the Disney site but I would like to hear from someoone who has gone there. Are there charachters around the resort? Do they have lots of activities. I'd love to see pics. Started thinking about adding two days on my next trip.
TIA

I think they have a character breakfast on Saturday or Sunday, but that is the only time you see characters. They have tons of activities for kids. They have separate activities for kids 3-5. Some are free and some have a fee. Most are very nominal fees.

There is a miniature golf course. Eb and Flos is the rental/activity place and they have board games you can borrow. A couple nights a week they have a movie at the pool, if weather permits. They also have a campfire singalong a few nights a week where you also get to make smores.

We love Vero. There are a lot of activites for kids to do, but definitely not as much 'disney' as being Orlando. Our kids just love being at the beach but still having the pool so close by. For our interests, however, we don't normally stay longer than four days. We finish up at WDW for the remainder of the week.

My first post :)

I just returned yesterday from our first trip to Vero. I loved this resort.

We spent 3 days. I can see spending maybe 4, but thats it. There is a bunch of activities for kids.

Outside the resort are two local dive shops (Deep Six and Sebastian Dive). They do discovery dives for beginners and you can rent snorkel gear. Vero doesn't rent snorkel gear... and I think I know why. My bro and I rented gear from Deep six, went back to vero and swam out.... and out... and out... 1-2 feet of visibility :(

Maybe it was just the day. We were told a few miles down the coast (8-9 miles) was 4 sunken ships that were great to snorkel, but we ran out of time.

For some local flavor, there are some cool local restaurants. Try Squid Lips!

The campfire was fun and kids enjoyed it. Wife and I did a moonlit beach walk and we had the beach pretty much to ourselves! Might have been the time of year.

I'm very pleased with our stay and would definetly do it again... and do a discovery dive next time!

Gorilla :welcome: to the Dis. We went to Vero Beach last year and enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights after six in WDW. We too did Squid Lips and had a very nice woman working in the gift shop tell us some places to try. One was about twenty miles up the road and it was a place that locals eat. I can't remember the name but it was great and was pretty cheap.

Thanks for the welcome!

My family is Disney crazy like most of you. We go about twice a year. I have a family member that works for the mouse. I don't know the rules here so I'd rather not say where he works ;)

Countless times we've had Disney vacations and still doing new things every time!
