WDW "Vacation A Day" Contest!

I have a family of six so I'm wondering that as well. Lol oh how I would love to win!! If you know my DH and I you would know we are the least lucky people in the world. You know when people's comments to you are "man if you didn't have bad luck you'd have no luck at all" all the time how unlucky you are. But I'll keep hoping :)

If you won a trip to WDW you could request a Family Suite for your family of six or a cabin at Ft. Wilderness and not have to pay for an additional room. And, yes, keep hoping!! When I was looking at previous contest posts on the DIS last night I saw that there are ALWAYS winners from here....why not you, right?!

If you miss the phone call, do you still win? Just wondering ...

That's what I was wondering as well but apparently they email you as well.

Anybody that has won last year do you know the area code where they call from. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know so if I have an idea of the area code then I will answer.

I believe it was posted that the area code is 212.

Now -- anyone else get only 6 sections in the "17 section" terms of use?

Lo and behold, today, it only asks me to read 6 instead of 17 sections. Thanks for fixing -- I thought I (or my computer) was going crazy!

This is so exciting!!

I have never been to Disneyland, so that would be my first choice. Grand Californian for sure! I love the craftsman style architecture and decor - it's so beautiful. Without a doubt, I would want to go in early December to see the holiday decorations.

With WDW, I can never decide which deluxe I would stay at if I could choose without a care. The only deluxe I have ever stayed at is Wilderness Lodge, which I LOVE, but I think I would aim for a "dream" (read: more expensive) deluxe. :cool2: I've always wanted to stay at a monorail hotel, but for all my daydreaming, I can never decide which one! Isn't it odd to be so indecisive even in daydreaming?

Ha! I am the same way! Each year w this contest I go back and forth...Beach Club? Monorail? Oh, but I hear Wilderness Lodge is beautiful...I drive myself a little crazy! haha Then I remember how much I love POFQ, how much my kids enjoy Caribbean Beach, and I realize it doesn't REALLY matter where we stay. We have the best family time in WDW, and that is a major reason we keep going back.

This year, for the first time, I am daydreaming about DLR, as well. We live in MD, and I have never been to DL, or even CA. My kids are old enough now that they could handle the travel, so, maybe....

Another piece to drive myself batty about! lol. Good luck, all!

Ooooh, I vote for DLR in California. We went when my girls were 4 and 8 and had the BEST time! That's where we'd go if we won the contest but I'd ask to pay for an extra night of tickets/hotel so it would be more worth the flight out there. We were there for five nights when we went. Some say you only need a day each at the two parks but we went 4 1/2 days to the parks and could easily have used more. Of course, we rode a few rides more than once. :goodvibes

Someone who previously won chose DLR and extended their stay there, then they toured other parts of CA before their return flight home. I thought that was rather brilliant planning as the date of the return flight doesn't have to match the dates of the hotel ressies. We would do that if we chose CA.

Ha! Good to know! We would definitely extend our trip to visit other parts of California.

Now to win....Oh, Ventuuurrraaaa

Thanks I hope someone here wins and does a trip report. How exciting. Good luck to you!

I don't know which one I'd pick - WDW or DLR.

At WDW, I would take the package that inclides staying in the castle suite, because when will you ever, ever have the chance to experience that again?!?!

At DLR, I would take the package that includes having a VIP tour person for 8 hours, because I'd never pay to experience that. I'd also take along (for the day) my DNieces who live in the area and have APs.

What a wonderful problem it would be to have - having to pick between fabulous trips!

Not even close. We just got back from 5 full park days at DLR and felt like we missed so much. I can't wait to go back.

Agreed!! :thumbsup2

We did 6 days in 2011 and 6 days this past October -- especially with the addition of CarsLand there was too much to do and not nearly enough time!

Did I miss that in the prize section or are you wishfully thinking? I thought it was flight, hotel and a 500.00 gc

Are you referring to the WDW Vacation-A-Day contest or the the American Tourister contest?:)

The Vacation-A-Day contest does not include those options.:)

I thought the same thing. I have seen other sweeps that include a castle stay, but don't remember seeing it for this contest. I think last year's prize included more options. Maybe the poster was reading old rules?

Castle stay would be awesome though huh?

Did 'anyone' actually read the rules??

Disney 'picks' the hotel and it's a standard room. Where is everyone getting all their 'fantasy' expectations of winning from?? (castle suite, choice of hotels, rooms, etc.) :confused3

I'll take 'whatever', but from the rules the choice is Disney's, not the winners.

It's also 'limited' to a group of 4 (winner + 3).

Where are you finding these packages/options? I can't even find where we get to pick our hotel rooms vs it being Disneys discretion...

We just went to DLR in September and while our pick would be WDW this trip, I wanted to say that I agree DLR is not a 2 day park - we went open to close for 4 straight days and still left things undone! And very few things done more than once!!

Our WDW choice (if we get to make it?) would most likely be to stay at the Poly....we are DVC but stayed at Poly for our honeymoon and would love to do it again!

We would extend our stay with DVC points for sure - but this would save us some extra points for our trip to Hawaii in 2015!
