In November we are planning on going to wdw from 12-21st we were going to check out of out wdw hotel and rent points for Dvc for aminal kingdom villas. The 3 days we would be staying at akv we had plans on visiting us/Ioa and sea world. We'll after thinking about it I'm starting to thing it will be a waste of money and time. I'm wondering if we should stay at a hotel near universal. Maybe do a package deal and try the Harry potter breakfast.

Has anyone else done this it is worth if or afoul we just stay at Disney and catch mears each day?
How much time do we need for universal both parks?

What's the best deals people have found on the universal packages

For the cost of the points you would be better off going with a hotel near Univeral or heck go with one of the deluxe hotels to get he express passes :) The uniersal hotels have a shuttle ( you have to sign up for it) to Sea World and then they have boats/walk ways/busses to the parks.

It is always better to book things seperatly, you tend to spend more on the package plus you are stuck with cancellation fees, etc.

We always go with at least 3 to 4 days at the park but that is just us. If you have 2 days you should be able to see everything and then you can always pool hop between the Universal hotels since there are so much to see and do around there and all the hotels have really nice pools, resturants, etc.

What are the express passes
Universal uses an express pass option to have shorter wait times. If you stay onsite at one of the 3 deluxe resorts you get the unlimited option that allows you to bypass the traditional line, for example DD wanted to ride Spider Man and posted wait was 90 minutes. With the EP we walked on in 5 minutes.

You can purchase the pass as well and they have two options, one is unlimited and then the other is you can use it once per attraction. With a party of 4 it is more cost effective for us to stay one night at one of their hotels and get 2 days of unlimited express pass.

Express pass is similar to fast pass at WDW but you either get the unlimited version free by staying at one of the deluxe resorts at UO, or you purchase either a one time per ride express pass or an unlimted( expensive) one. It is similar to fast pass in that you bypass the regular lines.
