What time should we leave the World in order to catch a 6 pm flight on a Thursday? We have to return an Alamo rental also. Thanks for any suggestions:)

Thr recommended time 2hrs prior to your flight, 3hrs if traveling internationally. Add in 30min drive, 15-20mins for dropping the Rental. Allow for trafic and finding your way around the airport(if you haven't driven there before). I'll have to agree with the first person and say leave at 2pm, no later than 2:30pm and you should not have any problems making your Flight.

There is a reason why Disney Magical Express pick people up 3hr. ahead of their flight. It's better to be early and sit and wait, than to be running to make it!

Expect the drive from WDW to TPA to take about 75 minutes. Add to that an extra 10 minutes or so to stop for gas before returning the car so figure 90 minutes transit time in total.

I think OKW Lover thought you were going out of MCO,nnot Tampa.
I think minimum drive time should be 75 minutes, but if you travel during traffic, it could be 30 minutes longer. I'm flying tampa/colorado too, tho now having trouble with rental car that I can p/u tampa and drop Lake buena vista.
