tHIS IS NOT RUMOUR BUT OFFICIAL NEWS!To blend in with the curse theme as part of the cave section, WDW will be adding a mysterious new character to POTC. This character is a very attractive ghost like women that will be inside the cave section. I guess it will work as some type of mirage that attracted the Pirates into temptation, therefore being cursed within the cave.

I bet it's Donald Trump. He's freakin' everywhere.

Hi everyone, I have to say....Pirates has ALWAYS been my favorite ride in DW and I never thought I'd say this in a million years, but I was truely DISAPOINTED the last time in rode the ride at DW. It seems to me that in order to get people out of the sun and hot weather, they made the ride much shorter! I can understand that, but at the end of the ride they put up a new exibit of the carachters from the movie! I guess I'm just a traditional person...at list DISNEY-LAND still has the oldie (so far!)

p.s.

does anyone know if this new ghost/women has anything to do with the coming pirates II movie?

Im no sure i follow you....

To the OP: What is the source of your info?

Huumm......the original poster has only 15 posts. Without a source for this big news, I would think this information isn't true.

The information comes directly from management fro the attraction itself. It will happen. The character continues the curse them of the movie yet establishes the ride espect unique.

uh - how did they make the ride SHORTER? I think that's pretty impossible...considering it opened in 1973 and has a pretty set 'track'.

and where are these new characters located and when were they put in?

Huh?

I just got back from WDW and there have been no changes to POTC and no characters added that I could see.

This is the oddest thread!

Are you people on something!

I have it on good authority that an audio animatronic Eddie Murphy will now be added to different parts of the Haunted Mansion ride.

And, my sister's friend's mother's aunt says that Christopher Walken will be added to the Country Bear's attaction.

Walt Disney's ghost told me that the real Dubya will be joining the Hall of Presidents if he loses the election in November.

:teeth:

Now, my personal preference would be to expand PoC to match the Disneyland version! pirate: Arrrrr! pirate:

What would be the difference, hauntedcity? One dummy or another.

helenm29,

I think you have a few thousand people very confused right now. POC at Disneyland is longer and more elaborate than the one at Walt Disney World. So, if you are saying that you are disappointed by that, ok.

However, it seems you are saying that WDW reduced the length of its version of POC at some point in time. I'm not certain what gave you that impression, because it is the same as it has always been, except for a few changes to characters and signs. The Pirate in front of the girl in the barrel is now holding a treasure map, instead of her petticoat. The auction sign changed from "wench" to "bride" and of course the pirates are being chased by the girls, instead of the other way around. (The old joke was you see pirate chasing girl, then pirate chasing girl, then plump girl chasing pirate - not too PC.)

But, as for the length and layout, they've been the same for some 30 years now.
