WDW time again... complete trip photos finally posted!

Awesome shots (as usual), Groucho. Very inspirational. Love the fisheye in Soarin'. Thanks so much for taking the time to post and share these with us :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! There probably won't be any new pics until tomorrow night at the earliest; my wife was using the laptop and I am busy burning DVDs to free up space on the laptop to unload today's pictures! In the morning, we'll be leaving early to head over to Boma, so I probably won't have much time for hopping on here.

I was going to go to Epcot tonight (EMH so open until 12pm) but I was zonked on the bus ride back from Downtown Disney earlier so decided to take a pass. That officially means that the extra $50 I paid for a park hopper for myself was wasted. :( Oh well. In retrospect, I should have skipped it; there's no rides at Epcot that I have to do over and over and a couple other chances to do some nighttime photography there.

Jack had a good day today - he even rode Star Tours with no issues! At our dinner at Raglan Rd though, he refused to eat even a single bite, then fell asleep before dessert! We ended up getting it to go and bringing the whole thing back. He's sleeping soundly now and hopefully we won't see a repeat of the sickness!

I love this shot of the old Pentax Spotmatic. I think there are still a few out there. There was one sold at the auction where I work about 3 months ago for less than $25. I actually thought about bidding on it for my son. He has all my old Pentax film gear and still uses it from time to time.
That is a good price for a Spottie if it's in nice functional condition. Shoulda grabbed it. :) They should generally be reliable as tanks, it's the meter that might have issues; and that's usually just a matter of getting a fresh battery in there.

Groucho, you have an amazing eye for some really great photos. Enjoy the remainder of your trip. Hope Jack stays well and healthy.

Yesterday was a problem-free day for Jack but this morning, as we were getting ready to go to AKL for breakfast at Boma, Jack had another bout of sickness. :( He seems to be keeping his Mylanta down now and he claims that he feels better, so hopefully he'll be OK, but we'll be keeping a bag nearby just in case!

Sigh... this is a bummer. It's bad enough if someone's sick, but it's really no fun not knowing if and when he'll get throwing up again. :(

Sorry to hear about Jack. We had a bout of sickness with my DD years ago. Piglet hugged her and I realized that her ear had busted open from an ear infection! She hadnt complained about it at all until then. The next couple days were spent dosing her up with antibiotics (she almost always had ear infections back then so we had the medicine already) and giving her many doses of Motrin.

Piglet shouldnt hug so hard!

Oh no! Poor little Jack! I hope he's done getting sick. The little guy shouldn't have to be sick when he's at Disney! :sad2:

Your pictures are fantastic!! Thanks for sharing. If you would just, ahem, "happen" to walk by the Tower of Terror, could you just maybe snap a shot of it? I would love to have it as my desktop (with your permission of course ;) ).

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Oh, I hope he feel better. It is so hard to watch our kids get sick, and even worse at WDW. I remember the time my youngest DS (then about 8) broke a wire on his braces. He was is so much pain.

Super quick update: Jack's been fine all day but my wife's been doing badly, couldn't really enjoy breakfast at Boma (I ate enough for all three!), and did her impression of him just after we got off the bus at AK. :( She felt better afterwards, at least. Poor gal!) We ended up leaving a little while ago when she started to feel pretty beat - she felt as guilty as anything else but like I told her, these things happen - what can you do? She and Jack are taking a rest now and I'm going to head over to MK for a while solo. If she feels better, we'll meet at DD and eat at T-Rex. If not... who knows?

Hopefully everyone will feel better once and for all soon!

Wow too bad groucho. You aren't having any luck. Hopefully things will turn around for you and the family. We are all thinking of you! :goodvibes

That stinks- hope everyone feels better soon- and also hope it stops spreading. Seems like you were the sick one at Disney not all that long ago if I recall correctly. :scratchin

Some pics before the next update...

Thanks! I think composition is actually a weak point for me. I don't always see a shot appear like I'd like to, and have issues with things like putting the subject no higher than the center in portrait-orientation shots... I have been trying to put some of the stuff I've been reading in "The Photographer's Eye" to good use. As you can see from what I've posted so far, I have been quick to tilt the camera to get a more interesting angle this trip!

Thanks! I actually didn't get much in the way of external ToT shots this time, and we won't be getting back to DHS this trip. You can see some of mine from previous trips here. You are certainly welcome to use any as your desktop - you can do just about anything you like except try to sell them, as far as I'm concerned.

Oh yes, the last two WDW trips, I've had a few days of feeling sick... though none of those involved our buddy "ralph" which makes a big difference in terms of what you can get accomplished during the day!

So far, I'm still doing zip-a-dee-doo-dah. Unfortunately, I'm the only one who is! Jack's doing pretty good now but having pretty bad attacks of... well, he's not throwing up, and you can guess at the rest of it. No need to gross everyone out if I can avoid it! My wife has thrown up once or twice more and is also suffering. She called her doctor, who told her that it sounds like a virus that's been hitting a ton of people back home in Rochester, and it takes a couple days to clear up. Since she has a bun in the oven (and it's far enough along to say so - we've had a couple not go according to plan since Jack, sorry to say, but those are different tales of woe), she is very careful about what medicine she takes. The virus is contagious, so I am going to be extra-careful to make sure that I stay healthy!

At this point, they're both asleep, I'm snacking (Key Lime Pie from the quick-service here at OKW, plus the remainder of a peanut butter sandwich and oatmeal raisin cookie from the candy counter in Frontierland - both very yum!) and going through a few photos before bed. I've got a cinnamon roll all set for the morning, too. :teeth:

Some new pics, this gets us current. BTW I had said that this wasn't a photography-centric trip and the numbers seem to bear it out... last trip, I had over 4k pics over 7 days (and I was sick for a few of those!) After 7 days here, I've barely cracked 2k.

(edit: replaced unprocessed photos with tweaked ones)

I brought along my fairly-new Tomtom just for fun, I was impressed that it even has the monorail tracks on its map. :lmao:

Great shots, as always Groucho! I really like this one. And now I want to bring my Garmin with me to see if it shows the monorail tracks. We're driving in May, so I guess I'll find out then.

Thanks, Disneyfreak92!

Well, it's official - I couldn't let me wife and son have all the fun, so now I'm sick too. :( I had a small vomit just before we got off the bus at OKW (fortunately I had a bag) then I just did a huge one a few minutes ago. Bleah. Guess I won't be going to Downtown Disney tonight!

Oh well... I got through the first 8 1/2 days without getting sick!

Sorry to hear you are all sick. Tends to happen that way. We did not catch anything in early Dec when we were down at all, but both caught it in early January long after we had left - probably from people at work.

What model Tom-Tom do you have? We don't have one yet. Any model that shows monorail tracks gets bonus points in my book! :)

And is that a bucket hat I see on your head in reflection on the train sign shot?

I've been enjoying all the great pictures! These are my favorites so far - especially the one of the theatre. I had thought about doing a similar sort of shot before leaving on our trip but in rushing around forgot about it. Next time!

So sorry to hear that everyone has gotten sick. It's never any fun but it's 10 times worse when your away from home.
